1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Doll Chateau - Adult Dolls - Part 2

Feb 21, 2015

    1. i'll get him out in the morning and measure if no one beats me to it :thumbup

    2. @Cloudedmind - i have the A-body-04-1 - the one with wings, but it is my understanding it is exactly the same as regular 04 except for the holes in his back. I took off one extra ankle piece and put the tailor tape underneath him, down the center of his body. i figured it might be good with have with and without the head as Medeas isn't normally sold with this body.

with the head on: 69cm with the extra ankle piece and 67cm without

with the head removed, from the top of the neck: 64cm with the extra ankle piece, 62cm without

      i hope that helps <3

tbh, now i'm curious as i thought the difference between 04 and 03 was the ankle pieces, i honestly hadn't noticed he had them  the two bodies look pretty much identical in sculpted features to me... but now i'm gonna hafta do a side by side or my brains won't shut up

ps, wait maybe the extra neck piece factors in... hmm

    3. @Grimalkin Thank you for those measurements! 67cm without the ankle pieces might actually work for what I want.

Yeah, the difference between the 04 and 03 body is that the 03 body has the neck piece.

    4. Not sure which would the best place to ask this, but

I received my Y-body-06 this fall, ordered through a dealer (BJD dreams), but I received no COA with the body?

I've read that DC's COAs do not specify the dolls, and my ant and head came with their owns, but to receive no COA for the body at all, should I be concerned?

    5. @Fenalei
DZ and DC do not provide certificates for their bodies, only for heads and whole dolls (since the head is part of the whole doll).

    6. when i bought a body separate for a head that was sold solo from another place, there was no COA for body alone from DC. but i have the receipts/emails from the dealer, paypal history and factory issued box. if they sent it directly to you from DC, the shipping labels/export docs might be good to keep or photograph with DC's return address. hope that helps :)

    7. Phew, thank you so much for replying, both @Nata-eslava & @Grimalkin ! I'm relieved to hear this and that I didn't mess up anything, haha!

I think I'll print out the order's receipts and emails and put them into the body's DC box

    8. I know this thread is old but I'm in a bit of a pickle so here goes nothing. If anyone has or had a DC Dennis what size eyes does he need? I'm planning on getting a rather pricier pair and it would be horrible if they didn't fit right but I can't seem to find his size anywhere. Thanks!

    9. Hi! 16 mm eyes are the best, I think. He's eyes are quite big :)

    10. You are a lifesaver and your dennis is a cutie! Thanks!!!

Edit woopse I thought I hit quote must have double clicked

    11. I want to add something about the eyes, although I have no Dennis.
I have Adrian, with big expressive eyes too, but it turned out to be a HUGE problem to find the right eyes for him.
That's how I chose the size: I measured his eyes with white plastic beads with stenciled irises. I used beads with a diameter of 14-16 mm, a combat mission plotter and a graphite pencil; I drew irises of different diameters and applied the bead to the doll's eye socket. The 6-6.5 mm iris on a 16 mm bead looked best, so I stopped at the size of 16/6 mm. But it was not enough... :nowords:
For now I changed 3 pairs, the last one was the best, but still not perfect. It’s all because of very flat and non-symmetrical dome of his eye niches. Eyes with a semicircular arch when settled leave huge gaps on the sides. Flat eyes eliminate these gaps, but stay very far from eyelids due to the high lens, which casts a shadow over the entire white. Finally, I found a way out by ordering fully custom 16/6 mm eyes with a reduced iris, a flat dome and a low lens.
      So far, he's like this:

    12. Can anyone tell me if the bodies with extra joints fit in normal 70cm clothes or do they have to be custom made?

    13. I've only started clothes for the boys so far, so not sure about the ladies yet.
Some 70cm/"uncle" items have fit with no alteration, but i do check the clothing maker's listed size chart for especially length of leg and arms, and hip/waist measurements. some tops can be smaller than 70 class if the arms are long enough. a pair of boots has help solve some of the short cuffed for me. when flying blind and no measurements are listed, i've had some items be too short, or the waist too much gap vs. the hip.

    14. @Grimalkin Mind sharing the hip/waist measurement you use? My boy is on the way so I don't have him to measure and are wanting to order some clothes. Sadly Alice Collections doesn't have legand arm measurements so I'm flying blind there.

    15. @Shai - No problem :)
for A-body-03 i used what DC had online from the old website when i bought most of his clothes, i'd not measured by hand yet.
but i had Methos out today for some pics so i measured him for you :)

the waist is spot on, but hips i'm getting 27.5 cm, around the largest part. I bet the 29.5cm gives allowance to sit.
Leg at 40-40.5 seems good for trousers with a waist at the belly button, for lower slung styles you can do shorter like 39 cm
Arm is 22 cm Shoulder to the wrist. the 29.5 cm is to the tip of the middle finger from shoulder.
Chest is maybe a bit slimmer at 24cm when measured, but the 25 probably lets you dress him easier.

      from DC's old website:
      neck dia: 8.5 cm
      Shoulder W = 14 cm
      Arm L = 29.5 cm (to fingers)
      Chest circ = 25 cm
      Waist circ = 18 cm
      Hip cicr = 29.5 cm
      Leg L = 40.5 cm
      Thigh circ = 14 cm
Feet L = 9 cm (get shoes 1cm longer, maybe more if cannot lace/zip)
Feet W = 3cm (measured at widest point)

hope that helps you out :thumbup

    16. @Grimalkin That is wicked helpful, thank you! I don't trust the websites measurements since I've been tricked by them before, lol. I really appreciate you taking the time to measure for me, it really helps!

    18. Hi all I'm back to once again resurrect this extremely helpful thread! If there's a part three I'm totally missing I'm going to feel like a dummy but I can't find one. Anyway, my A Body 04 arrived out of literally nowhere yesterday, didn't get any notification nor did AC update the status lol. I half want to show him off half want some advice from those experienced with the 70cm DC bodies.

His body is every bit as beautiful and strange as I was hoping but I'm having a bit of trouble getting him to stand, and just in general not look cockeyed lol so I was wondering if you all had any tips and tricks for working with his unusual joints. I'm sure I'll get more familiar with him as time goes on but I figure it couldn't hurt to ask. Anyway he's not all set up yet but here he is!!

    19. Mine isn't in shoes and I don't know how that affects things. First, make sure the joints and limbs haven't rotated into an odd position. Gowin always seems to have one shin that's twisted weird and those extra ankle bits love to spin around. Hold at the hips. Pull the feet into position under him. I leave the knees straight. One hand on the waist/hips, one adjusting the feet and everything to make sure he's going down steady. Adjust the arms once he's standing solid. (Be ready to grab if that unbalances things.)
