Doll Couples...Together or Separate?

I'd always planned my one committed couple to be together, but I got her first about two years ago, and spent quite some time searching for a proper mold for him. Now that I have him picked out, he'll be coming home as soon as I finish saving up. [It's about time, too, she's been bugging me for months! :P]

 

Was it planed and did you order them around the same time?
I did not originally plan to have couples because I did not like male dolls.

Did you have one first and realize they needed a partner?
I decided I would pair up my first girl with someone else's male doll because I didn't like the male dolls well enough to spend the money on one. But, a relationship never happened.

Then, I was hooked by Volks Yukinojo and Souldoll Asiter. They were the most masculine sculpts at the time IMO.

Did you plan a couple get one first, then get the other?
I don't plan my dolls. I wait until a sculpt grabs me and then I create a character for the sculpt. I do plan to make all my dolls a couple. Right now I only have 1 who isn't coupled. I already know the sculpt and character I just don't have the money to buy the doll right now.

Or does a friend have one and you have the other?
They aren't coupled but several of my dolls are friends with my friend's dolls.

 

I think doll couples are fun, especially when paired with a friend's. An intended couple with a friend, I ended up getting both dolls myself because I fell in love with the one my friend was getting. The two boys seem to have this unrequited love though. Whenever I photograph them together, they always look like they long for each other but don't dare act on it LOL

I'm definately planning on getting a twin for my Floy, I love twins and I definately love the mold enough to do it. I do also plan on getting another msd girl to pair off with the one I have incoming. I like the idea of having two frilly lolitas around haha

 

Me and Ashael have several rps. Needless to say I know a couple of them will have the characters turned into doll form. So she will have her character and I will have mine. ^^

I can't wait for the photostories we'll do ;] lol.

 

Moswen and Kijika are a couple and Jaiseki is their son. I'm looking for Sarojin (Jaiseki's lover) but I have very specific requirements for him and haven't seen the sculpt that is perfectly right for him yet. I've seen a possible sculpt for Xinda (Jaiseki's sister) and if I get her, that means I'd have to get Chane (her lover) as well and I haven't even begun to look for him. He'd be another sculpt that has very specific requirements *sigh*. But if I do all that, I'll have the entire little family I created.

I will be getting Jolen (BBB Jun) later this year and as far as I know, he's foot-loose and fancy-free with no hints of any partner on the horizon (which is good for my wallet). Oddly enough, I've never been tempted to get his twin in doll form.

 

I usually create a doll character and put it on my wishlist. When I also decide if he/she needs a partner, I will search for someone who would look cute together.

Usually I buy one first, and then safe up for the other one to buy it later.

My dolls are all paired up with other dolls of mine, I would never pair one up with a doll of someone else. I would be too afraid that the friendship will break up between owners, and that I wouldn't have any clue what to do with my doll.

 

None of my dolls have romantic partners, but Avestar does have an enemy. Melas will be hunting her and Lune.

No and no. Avestar was around muuuuuch earlier, and thus was bought sooner.

It was more like I realized I only have good guys in my crew. No dynamics.

Nope, and it'll be interesting watching them interact.

I plan on 2 couples~ a couple couple and a brother couple. I hope to get the brothers about the same time :/

I have Mihael, my first. Since he is a pornobitch he NEEDS a partner to tame him~ so I'm saving for Kirill xD

Mihael and Tekila's Keeth are separated though they don't really are a couple, but friends.

Yes, it was with Kestrel and Peregrine. I ordered them within days of each other. Although it took 2 tries to get Peregrine right, they were both complete within 2 months of each other.

Did you have one first and realize they needed a partner?
With Beryl and Sard - yes. I fell in love with Beryl and then when I saw Sard knew he had to come home to be with her.

 

Some I got and realized they needed a partner, while others were pre-existing characters and I knew who their partner was. However, I've never gotten a couple at the same time or all that close to the same time, since I usually don't have enough cash on hand to buy two dolls at once.

 

When I finally got my dolls. I ordered my planned dolls (DOC Too and Bee-a) and they're twins, even though they're advertised as lovers on DOD. They just look too much alike.
So, knowing they wouldn't come for a while (DOD takes 2 months!), I figured that my Too would need a boyfriend when he arrived...so I went searching, on the marketplace and on dollsites...and I fell in love with the shiwoos...and thought...I should get a cheaper one...but I happened to have the money finally and I got the one I was dying to have, even though it had been on hold the other buyer dropped out and the seller contacted me, I grabbed him right up. So, since he was on the marketplace, he arrived months before my Too...so he got to have his boyfriend come home to him.
My other couples, well, Ilya (my wishel boy) is supposedly dating a little chocolate vampire so owned by a friend of mine (they have matching silver bracelettes) but I haven't heard from my friend in a while.
Mio and Lyn: I had Mio (EF Min del re) for a while and I finally got Lyn too (she was my first choice but then I fell in love with Min and had to have her first) so I traded for Lyn later. When Lyn first arrived, she seemed way to haughty and high mighty...but then I fixed her scary hair and she looks adorable. And Mio fell for her, they're always holding onto each other...so sweet.

I usually like to group my dolls up, although it's not my first concern. I just like to have them have friends or siblings or friends...

I've purchased them close in time. (Elf Elf, then Elf Lishe a month or two later). I didn't know they would release Elf Lishe a month later. She was just available--and I wanted her, so it worked out

I bought my two Bambicronys very close in time to each other. I saw the first and bought , then the other became available.

Not really...
With my Tinybear Bracken, I figured I just wanted him, but didn't NEED a Tinybear Moona to keep him company... although I figured I may get one eventually since I liked Moonas. Mostly it's a money thing--I can't get everything all at once and sometimes have to make decisions on what I want first and what I may not ever buy, but may be able to at some point if I still want to... I eventually bought a Moona! Maybe a year later?

I never really plan on a couple... I LIKE couples, though, so if I see another doll I really like that would make for a good couple, that's what usually happens.

Nope. I usually don't pay attention to other people's dolls, other than Oooh-and-Aaah about 'em. I buy what I like and I haunt DoA enough to see most of the dolls that come out, so I'm either getting them at the same time as anyone else, or I'm not. i don't think I've fallen in love with someone else's doll... although it could happen! Why not? (Most of my dolls are limited, so I need to get them when they become available, usually. I don't like to pay extra in the marketplace if I don't have to... although sometimes I've missed out on a sale and have to do a bit of hunting to get a doll!)

I'm curious because I am planning my first two MSD dolls to be a couple (I've put the first down payment on the girl, and the boy is still up in the air about which sculpt fits his personality)

So let's hear what you have to say about your couples!

I had a One-off Volks and was planning on keeping him a single. But a friend actually GAVE me her Volks (a big surprise, and not a typical way to get a doll!), so now I have them as a couple.

I bought my Soom Sard hoping he'd be my one and only Soom, but of course I couldn't keep it to just one... so now I have two.

My little anthros are all singles, but they are friends with each other at least!

 

Xavier came first, second on topic doll, and those two boys were going to be it. Then I thought it would be cute to have a pair of minis then put it out of mind for awhile. The twin white elephants arrived, went to a meet up and saw my first mini girl and we were sold. That head was out of stock, the other one was too happy, he looks very sad, so I went with one who's wide eyed surprized.

Xavier is a character who's been with me a long time and he's always had his beloved. He did seem quite lonely as the only mini. I did a trade for eyes for her, and ended up loving her default, and swapped a bigger wig I didn't like to get the one she won't take off.

 

Caleb (shiwoo) and Bernadette (dk cocori) have been married since they were sixteen and have four children, I'm still working on buying one more boy (mnf woosoo) and one more girl (unoa chibi). Also Carmine (gentle soo ri) is best friends with Caleb. And Teagan (boy lishe) is dating Kherington (tan linhwa half elf.)

 

I have a couple at home right now--or at least I'm planning on coupling them eventually once I get around to finishing their outfits, getting their eyes, and making photostories ^.^;

When I first ordered Vincent, I was considering making one of my other characters into a doll as well, but I wasn't planning on ordering her at the same time. It wasn't planned exactly, but I definitely considered...
However, I knew that if I were to order a girl doll, I'd make her into that character and pair the two up.
So in short, it wasn't exactly planned at first, and I didn't order them at the same time (due to hesitation and being unable to find the right sculpt).

I didn't realize until after I got Vincent that he needed a partner. For one, he always looked so sad... And two... He never stopped grabbing me! I figured that he was trying to tell me to whip out my credit card and buy him a female partner!

I always considered giving Vincent a partner, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy another doll just yet... It's sort of hard to explain. I always had that particular couple in mind, but I wasn't always sure if I wanted to get Arden in doll form--at least not anytime soon. I eventually got her, because I really wanted a girl, and I found the perfect sculpt for her.

Nope. I have both at home!

Not sure... I guess the characters themselves were always a couple. I got Vincent first and I wasn't sure about getting Arden... However, I knew that if I were ever to pair Vincent up with anyone, it would be her... I also knew that if i were to get aother doll after VIncent, it would have to be Arden. ^.^

 

Dhaunnar and his significant other were created FAR apart. What happened was a friend of mine had a character that just...SCREAMED that he needed someone....and like magic Dhaunnar was created =)

Needless to say, I have Dhaunnar, while she has pretty much everyone from the storyline in her possession... And we're on opposite sides of the state! Needless to say, it's a real treat when we get together and there's a reunion =3

 

My boys all have boyfriends. Unfortunately they all live out of state with my friend. How lonely! But they have eachother so I don't feel too bad about it. If a kid gets too sad without his man I can always steal his boyfriend home with me for a while. XD

I bought my first dolls, intending for them to be a couple. For me it was pretty easy as I based the dolls on my favourite (couple) Elves from Lord of the rings, Erestor and Glorfindel. So I found two dolls that matched their individual description and accessorised them accordingly. And they have worked out perfectly!

 

I like sibling relationships (as I have a great one with my brother), so I've got elder brother/younger sister dolls and am planning for twins. ^ ^
