1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Doll Dioramas

Oct 15, 2016

    1. Thank you!

I have been collecting doll stuff for years, even before BJD so lots of my stuff, I'd had since childhood. To build the shelves and decorating the rooms took about a month, mostly because once I start a project, there's no stopping me! I had saved up enough money for it entirely before starting.

Handmade things...a lot of it! I painted the room myself, painted the shelves myself (my husband built them from scratch not a kit), many of the beds and the couch were made by my parents, a lot of the props (food, drinks, blankets, toys) were made by me. I do a lot of sewing and sculpting miniatures for my dolls. A lot of the other stuff was collected from flea markets over the years. :)

    2. that is so nice n_n the only furnite I made (fully handmade) was a SD coach but I still need to sew the cushions I'm just too busy with sewing clothing ;w; thanks for sharing~

    3. Your dioramas are AMAZING !!! I have a lot of furniture for the dollies, but I have never really made rooms. I have been accumulating ancient Egyptian pieces for awhile. My dream is to eventually to make a throne room.

    4. I always wanted to create a diorama for my 1/4 scale doll but I can't seem to find anything befitting. I do have a house for my 1/12 scale dolls though.

    5. It's not quite a diorama, but more like space on top of my desk hutch - that's where my 50cm girl resides at the moment. I would take a picture but it's a mess at the moment. I had started on a two-story elven house from a tree stump back when my elf had a body - but I didn't get too far and now she needs a vinyl body (I'm thinking 40cm). Now I have this really great dollhouse that's perfect for 1/6 dolls, so my Soom Hybrid will be residing there as soon as I clean it out and get to work on it.

As for finding furniture, all of my finds have been from local thrift stores, and even the dollar store for a few.

    6. I love what you have done! Everyone has their own room. It looks like an apartment complex or dorm. How cool!

    7. I use a T.V shelf cabinet (I don't remember the proper name for it) as my doll diorama! It's so big and is really good for my 60cm girl! I use American Girl or Our Generation doll furniture which is a bit small for my girl, but it works pretty well!

    8. It looks amazing! <3

This looks SO cool. I like how each room has a certain theme. Maybe one day I'll venture into making a diorama for my girls.

    9. I use an ikea bookcase and adjust it to the bjd size I'm using the diorama for (so far I've only done MSD, YOSD, and tiny

    10. Oh man, I wish. I just don't have the space for one ToT
I am planning on getting a bar for my boy though.

    11. I don't have one, but they are amazing and I would love to own one.
That might be the next step once I have more space.
Currently, my living area is too small for a proper diorama.

    12. Wow I don't think I've ever seen such an amazing set up for dolly dioramas. I'm honestly blown away. I'm currently saving to build a huge room for my twin girls and their pet dog bruno. Lol

    13. I currently don't have a permanent set up--I chase the daylight and move my dolls' furniture to get decent lighting. I'm excited to move later this year and get a permanent diorama installed into a shelf!

    14. I love It! All the little details, and your witches are fantastic.

    15. This is cool, What are the dolls sizes by chance?

    16. They are mostly 58-64cm, though there are a couple of tiny kids in there sometimes. The rooms themselves were built for 1/3 size, but could also work nicely for MSD.

    17. i dont have a room. i have a garden of roses. im still working on two roses and the patio table. i still need to find or make the patio chairs.

    18. Last year I managed to get a blank diorama and furniture from Belachixdollworld on Etsy. I customised it, made bedding, props etc. This is how it currently looks, seen through one of the windows:

    19. Oooh Wennie that's beautiful! The colors and decor work so well together. I've wanted a Belachixdollworld diorama for ages, but I've heard (from her instagram as well as her customers) that the USPS does a terrific job of breaking the dioramas in their boxes before they even get to their owners. ;__; But that was a year ago that I read that, has it improved since? @_@

Currently my dolls are stuffed on a bookshelf with the bed I purchased for them which takes up a majority of the space. It really doesn't fit well, but I have no clue how/where to go about a different setup in my room for them. I curse my apartment for being so small. At the very least the bookcase allows for me to make a set of cupboard doors for it so I can hide my dolls when I have friends over who aren't comfortable with them or something, but blegh.
