Doll Furniture

Apr 2, 2005

    1. i have some MSD furniture, i bought a doll bed at ikea and it's perfect for 2 msd dolls. then i got a jewelry box that looks like furniture from value village and it's the 'dresser' over all it's really cute. with some custom bedding and such ellie has her own little room.

    2. I currently don't have any doll furniture, but I am looking to buy doll hangers to use :) And maybe a closet to store the clothes and shoes~ Any suggestions?

    3. For SD size, consider "My Twinn" pieces. They have a selection and since the doll is 23 inches tall, furniture fits a 60 cm doll fine.
That said, I buy my stuff, and I have a LOT of furniture, at thrift stores, antique shops, tag sales and flea markets.

    4. I love getting doll furniture and designing rooms/sections for them.
I find it boring if they just live in their boxes or just sit on shelves.

I find it fun to do furniture shopping for them! and I've done all my doll furniture shopping at thrift stores, craft stores and the jewelry box/container sections of random stores.
You'd be surprised at what you find if you really look and it's much cheaper than buying doll furniture online.

    5. I dont hae any furniture as of yet. I need to wait for my doll to arrive so i know make it to small or to big. My uncle is a carpenter and has a huge workshop full of equipment. So i plan on buying some wood and making my own over the holidays. A good project to help time pass ^^

    6. Same is here I waiting for my doll to arrive so I can work with accurate measurments.

    7. I probably have more doll furniture than anybody should ever own. lol Though sadly, it's mostly Yo-SD and MSD sized and almost all of my dolls are SD...

    8. I have a bed, a chair/loveseat thingy and a pedestal table for my MSD dolls. My furniture is actually re-purposed. When I was little, my father made them for me so that my play dolls would have their own things. The bed is actually a replica of my own real bed that I had at the time. (My dad makes one-of-a-kind art furniture). I like to make new bedding for the bed and decorate it and such. :)

squib-vs-aizen, I found one of those jewelry boxes at Value Village too, but mine's quite small. It's more of a tiny size and is a good size for my RS Pup.

    9. I love miniature things, so I'd like some furniture, but I don't want to pay as much as my own full scale furniture. I'm currently working on a modern styled couch, hopefully it turns out okay.

    10. I actually have two couches that I bought from Ross a few years back. I'm not sure why they had tiny couches, but they didn't stay for long. Both my MSD and SD look fine on them. I also have this black metal chair that I have no idea where I got it from... but it's a perfect size for my MSD boy and that is usually where he sits. :]

    11. I bought wood cut-out furniture. I haven't assembled them yet since i don't know where to display all of it. XD I have a lot of reorganizing to do to have a free space in my cabinets.

    12. I'm wondering if furniture for American Girl or Our Generation would be the right size for MSDs? I saw some really cute things on Amazon, but unfortunately, they don't tell you the dimensions. I know the above-mentioned dolls are 18 inches, so I'm thinking the dimensions would be right, though.

Also...not exactly "furniture" but I saw a model horse that was made for 18 inch dolls, and I'm thinking my MSDs would love a horse of their own. The box it comes in is shaped like a box stall.

Ahhh...I saw the cutest Adirondack chair and picnic table on Amazon. I want those now.

    13. I used to have a couple pieces before I moved out to CA (Table, Desk, Chair) but haven't managed to pick up anything new yet. It's definately something I'm wanting to get ahold of- though finding furniture will be a little more tricky once I start aquiring all my larger guys and gals...

      As far as prices go I think about $50-60 for a larger piece of furniture is alright, depending on the details/quality but couldn't really see myself paying too awful much more than that (at least for MSD sized things.) Then again, that may be why I don't have alot of furniture in the first place. ^^;;

    14. The only furniture I get is chairs and things for them to sit on. :)

    15. At the moment, I only have a jewlery box set up that looks like a wardrobe and dresser for the dollies. In the wardrobe, there are little hanger things for necklaces but I put some dollie coats and sweaters in there. Miniature things can be hard to find sometimes, but I've found things like little tea sets, toy chests, and chairs. I do plan on buying or making bed frames and then making little mattresses and sheet sets. I also plan on making dioramas for display.

I think it's just that much more fun to make a "comfortable" environment for dollie friends!

    16. Yes, that stuff is in scale for an MSD. I've seen owners here with them as props. I've a Cello but I bet it's more suited for an MSD than SD sized doll. Which sucks cause the doll it's for a JDF Terra!

    17. Thanks Rynn007! I was thinking those items would probably work. I'm not crazy about all of that furniture, due largely to the overwhelming pink-ness, but there are some really nice white pieces, and I think some of it could be painted with acrylic. That might actually be a fun project. *gets inspired* And I would love to see the cello!

    18. I bought a large couch (sits 3 MSDs) from Dollmore... quite expensive but it's made out of really nice pleather. I also was lucky enought to find a very ornamental wooden chair, a park bench and a small ladder (I can sit an MSD safely on it) all on a craft/DIY store. I wish I could get more stuff for them but if not I *will* have more furniture made for their size.

    19. ooooh i really want to find some nice stuff or make it i guess

    20. Id love to have a little dollie room so I could have furniture but as it is I just don't really have space :(
