1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Doll Furniture

Apr 2, 2005

    1. even i can make some clothes for my dolls, however after sooooooo mush tring. but i reckon it is quite hard to make furnitures by myself! at first, the sketch, then the modes, so much details need to pay attention!only if i get enough time to focus on them~
however, furnitures for a doll are often expensive...........
so, it's a contradiction. we have to choose one side ~~
to be or not to be, it is a question!

    2. Wing back chairs in black are on sale this week on Doll Market. I got a couple on raspberry awhile back and have a pair of SD's sitting in them. I like them. and they were not especially expensive.

    3. I really want to buy my dolls a big house. Although I have money to buy one, I have no room to store it.

    4. Noah, my boy, has his own rocking chair that was a gift from a friend. It's mostly used for photo shoots and the like. As far as beds go, I made a pallet/futon sort of thing when I got a wild hair a while back. I ended up taking foam padding I got from Hobby Lobby and using it as a mattress. Then, I sewed sheets (that completely cover the "mattress" and are open on one end so I can change them) and a comforter, as well as pillows.

I bought a bed from ebay ages ago, but it was very poorly built and it fell apart within a month. -__- That was when I resigned myself to either making it, or spending money I could be using on other things to buy another bed.

I think I enjoyed making the beds more than I would buying them, even if they aren't what many would consider "traditional" doll furniture.

    5. actually A.G. stuff works well. At least everything BUT the beds do. I collectedA.G. stuff as a kid and kept most of it, I'm currently using retired A.G. furniture for my girl Hoshimi and it fits 1/3 size well, my beds? Not so much. I do have a spare discontinued table and chairs that I am looking to sell so I can get more fabric or even a coffin case. Bed wise I have to say My Twinn doll items are a better bet.

    6. I saw some cute things on the Dollmansion site, and I thought the prices were reasonable. Most of the time I go to flea markets and yard sales to find furniture, and I bought a really nice wicker chair that a lot of BJD owners also have. I can't find a bed that I really want,so with some help from my boyfriend I'm going to make a real wood bed. Some jewelry boxes make nice dressers for your dolls and you can't get those anywhere.
I think I might make all the furniture for my Realpuki out of plastic canvas. That stuff is so easy for me to work with and you can do almost anything with it.

    7. I know my MIL is making furniture for my tinies as a Christmas gift. I have thought about utilizing the cubbies in my bookcase and making little rooms in there for the dolls.

    8. Flea markets are awesome with finding doll stuff even when your not looking for it.

    9. Ebay is a good place. Recently, I found a very nice Chaiselongue. Not really new, slightly used, and me and my dolls like it that way. Even my big boy finds it comfortable. Just need a blanket and 2 pillows.

At a second-hand shop, I found a very nice mini garden bench (wooden seat, iron-cast sides). I traded some other used items for it.

But I have to be supercareful when my mini girl arrives. As shopping for her is so much easier, I am afraid she will be flooded with items. I really want to buy her the IKEA Duktig-bed. She also needs a nice place to rest...

    10. FleaMarket, Ross, Marshall's for a start. Also, sometimes items have another purpose & work well for the little people...like used store displays, candle holders. I'm always on the look out.

    11. I got a wooden table and two chairs from the local Antique mall for 25$, the set resales around 175... real wood and its varnished and everything. It says that it came from target. It fits MSD, SD and 18 inch dolls just fine. I have seen rocking chairs, dressers, and other assorted bedroom furniture for dolls including oriental doll sized furniture at the Antique malls, so try there. Beyond that I am building some furniture for my dolls, a colonial bed and matching bedroom and parlor furniture and a wardrobe to match.

    12. im always on the look out for some doll furniture. I would really love a couple chairs for my dolls but they're just too big and every chair I find is too small. Plus, theres also the issue they have with sitting so even if i did get them a chair, i dont think theyd actually be able to use it =='' Ughh..think i should just suck it up and buy doll stands..

    13. I don't have a doll yet but I would love to get some furniture for him when or before he arrives =] l, like many others, want a bed and some chairs. Depending on how it plays out I might just *have* to buy a few other miscellaneous furniture items too ;) I think furniture just adds to the doll and makes the whole scene, hope its not only me that thinks this >.< I've looked around on quite a few different sites but the prices are very expensive, very expensive. I'm better off making one of my own! So in drew up some plans today and we'll see how this goes, I'm hoping that I'll follow through and complete this project but... World class procrastinator here.:sweat

    14. ME!! I already ordered a sofa for my boy and girl!
I planned to build them a house, but I will start with living room first and bed room
      and that's cost a lot of money - -"

    15. I plan on making some furniture after I make them a house; but we will see how that turns out. What I picture in my head and what I actually create usually are two completely different items vaguely resembling each other. I may give up and just buy something but I have to at least try to make something 1st.

    16. I think it would be neat but I'd rather spend money on clothes/wigs and accessories of the like. But props do make for good and enhanced pictures xp

    17. I buy clothes, wigs, shoes, etc. first. But, I have bought chests for their things to go in and for them to sit on. If I had room, I'm sure I'd buy a couch or something!

    18. Originally it never occurred to me to buy furniture, but man... I saw the chair that Volks (?) makes... it is huge and gold and very 18th century looking. Ugh, I just fell in love with it. Unfortunately it was made for SD sided dolls and I'm pretty exclusively into tinies... but I did find a chair that is pretty great, also gold and plush and elegant looking. I haven't gotten up the nerve to buy it yet though...

    19. I'm wanting a 70 cm doll and wonder how hard it'll be to find furniture like chairs and such. I've only shopped a little and so far haven't found much.

    20. Some of the furniture you can buy and modify (new legs on a chair or couch, adding a cushion, etc.) Sadly unless its made for similar sized dolls it may be harder. Most furniture I've seen is for SD 1/3 and smaller or child size.
