1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Doll Furniture

Apr 2, 2005

    1. Ikea has a doll-sized chest of drawers. It's called Moppe and it comes in various sizes.

This little shelf was a flea market find:

    2. I don't have any doll furniture, but I'm planning to make some. I really know what I want. My Realpukis are children of the fairy wood and they will get a table, bench, a couple of chairs from wood and twigs.

    3. I probably won't go beyond just a chair for my MSD, but when I get a smaller doll I plan on going full out with a scale bedroom and little plushies and things like that.

    4. i frequent my local peddlers mall for miniature items. i found a great MSD sized outdoor chair, some "bowls" (candle votive) "places" (i donno what they are but they are for tiny china plates), "cups" and "glasses" (antique toothpick holders). i found a short wooden table that is supposed to hold hot food items above the table (like cookies etc) and a tiny bookshelf. all of these tings are just a few bucks each here. i would like to try to make more furniture, but i dont have to tools or know how to use them, so i may resort to buying from a real company for couches and possibly a bed. some of the more simple pieces i will try to make myself before i spend a load of money.

    5. Jany, I love your shelf. How tall is it? Could you show it with a doll, please?

    6. So is a peddler's mall for new or used items? Would it be like a dollar store, an antique shop, a thrift store or all three? It seems as if you have found some wonderful things at yours.

    7. Here it is with an SD:

It could have one more board for SDs ... but I guess it's okay for a random find.

    8. I've been searching for furniture for my MSD but so far haven't found anything......I think furniture & accessories are great for pics & make them more interesting ;)

    9. I would like to buy some doll furniture from doll companies, but its always to expensive! Otherwise I normally buy my things from thrift stores (I've also found some dollies clothes and props there as well). Furniture wise I have found a park bench, two metal chairs (one with armrests, one without), and even a rocking horse! I have thought about making my own, even collected the materials, but have never found the time to build anything.

    10. I have two couches,( one is a lovely brocade dog bed , the other is a rustic bent twig thingie), a park bench, two wicker chairs, two matching upholstered chairs, a rocking chair, a porch swing, a kitchen chair, a chest of drawers, a pirate chest, and a coffee table. I have bought some lovely mahogany that I will turn into a Shaker style dining room table and chairs. I also need to make bookshelves and a bed. I own three doll china sets and a lot of other props as well.

So far I have paid $15 or less from each piece. I shop flea markets, Goodwill, Hobby Lobby...etc. The fanciest piece, the green brocade couch was only $1.50 at second hand store. Just keep your eyes out everywhere you go. I know my crew of SD13s and EIDs need chairs which are 7"- 8" from the floor, which I can measure with my hands ( the width of both hands together is 8") though as a seamstress I generally have a measuring tape on me.

Measure your dolls, know what size they need.

I would probably pay up to $300 for a piece if I truly fell in love with it.

I may have to commision the replica of Tutankamun's black and white throne I want, as I have not yet learned inlay work. I plan to create an Egyptian throne room for my dolls. I also eventually plan to build an outdoors stone house for them, I have been collecting rock for two or three years now.

      I LOVE DOLL FURNITURE!

    11. I have a hard time finding SD-sized furniture, so I make all of mine. I have a bed, a table, a couch and an armchair. I make the chairs/couches out of cardboard staples and taped together into the right shape, and then I upholster it. This involves sewing through cardboard and prying up your thumbnail if your hand slips, but it's teally worth it! Their couch is lovely.

    12. :)I wonder if 18"doll chairs would fit a obitsu 65cm girl mind you she is 63cm in real life. Right now l'm trying to find a good chair so my girl can sit in etc.

    13. I'd like to buy or make (somehow) some doll-furniture, but I'm afraid there's currently too little place for such things in my home =/ anyway, I don't deny that maybe someday I will come up with some idea how and where to keep it and not take a lot of place.

    14. I'm always on the lookout for doll props and furniture. I bought a swingasan chair at Pier 1 for $16 (sold as a smart phone holder) that is perfect for our smaller BJD's.

    15. I'm all about the props. I have furniture from the small dollhouse size for my real pukis to bed, chair, and table set for my SD gang and every size in between. Now if only I could shop less and spend more time setting up their "living spaces'.

    16. I really love furniture and props, it adds so much realism to photos and just looks so cute :D I plan to make some for my girl pretty soon.

    17. I have a very large dollhouse that has alot of furniture that I'm steadily adding to, that many of my smaller dolls live in. I am getting a small pet ari from dollfactory that will have her own "room" in my dollhouse. I also will be getting other tiny bjd's that will live and have special things in my dollhouse. I will probably be working on getting a bed or a couch and putting them in a diorama room for any bigger dolls I get. I'm just starting out in the hobby. (dollhouse came before the dollies)

    18. I love doll props. NOT easy to find for the big dolls... and not easy to find space for! But they are just so fun to have for the large folk to sit about in and pose with, etc.

I was lucky to be able to find a couple of couches and chairs in Ross when they were selling discounted Kingstate stuff.

I really haven't had time to go hunting at flea markets, so I usually just go to Ebay when I'm looking for stuff. Now and then I search "spice racks" for doll shelves and "jewelry boxes" for chests of drawers, and American Girl sized furniture for chairs, and pet beds for beds...

Still not a lot of stuff out there, but now and then... something close.

    19. I would LOVE to find a compagny making furnitures just like Ikea, delivered in kits to built... And in every size ! I have txo SD dolls, and it's a real challenge to find something for them, as the are 68 cm tall ! Let's dream, maybe it will happen, one day ... :s

    20. I would buy some if it wasn't too much, or it was really nice... Though I like to think I'd make a little cozy place someday, too. I'm not too sure though, but I've always enjoyed looking, at least.
