1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Doll Furniture

Apr 2, 2005

    1. I would love to have some sofas or cute chairs
but I don't have any place to store them :p

    2. Since I plan to have a doll room I want at least a few pieces of furniture, maybe a bed-futon like- and a Victorian styled couch. Mhm! I'll probably enlist my uncle's help, since he's a carpenter, so I can make these as opposed to buying them online (if I could find them haha).

    3. I love to get things (mostly on the second hand market or through Good Will/etc.). I have a couch, a bench, a few chairs, and a tiny gazebo with a swing. :) I actually got so many Wicker chairs I had to start giving them away. XD I also bought a cradle that looks like a sled and can fit two SDs comfortably. Unfortunately, I still need a place to put all of it.

    4. I love finding things to use...I got this skeleton hand candle holder at Walgreens and it makes an EPIC Yo-SD chair. I got a 'desk chair', a moon chair, a little wooden chair and a Christmas tree for them...XD I got two benches for my MSD's, they seat two MSD's but I also set my 1/6th's on them...I wanna find some bed's. XD

    5. I don't have any furniture yet but I do plan on getting some later.
I want to set up an entire little space for them that could be their "room". :3
I'm thinking about trying my hand at making some but I'd much prefer to buy some and paint it. :3

    6. I came into the doll hobby due to my interest in miniatures, so my doll has pretty much everything. I made her a bed out of cardboard and bought a couch, desk and chair. The only problem is that SD doll furniture isn't exactly 'miniature' so it takes up pretty much half my room :s

    7. Oh! ::flail:: Me me me!! I have a doll house I am building for my Nano Freya and here Pipos Cheese mouse friend! I am going to make all the furniture to because Budget! :D

    8. When I develop a bjd family, I am thinking to construct a diorama or doll house for them...it would be nice if I can transform a closet into that.
Does anyone here, hand craft, or upholster for their dolls

    9. I currently have a few select Sylvanian Families pieces ready for my incoming PukiPuki. People tend to discredit the entire collection as a whole as there are definitely some pieces that Puki's won't fit into, but having my flatmate's Puki Sugar to borrow as a guinea pig, I've found that the Master Bedroom set is a good size.

I'd love to set up a couple of bedrooms for all of my girls but I just don't have the space at the moment in my new place. But Ouranea and Aida seem okay to share a bed I picked up for them at Ikea (such a bargain, too! And the perfect size for MSD's!).

    10. I absolutely love love love to make doll furniture <3 its part of what got me into the hobby. I've considered making an etsy to sell some on but I only have a Pukifee, so wouldn't know how to size things for bigger dolls/adults.

    11. I've picked up one of the Duktig doll beds from my local IKEA which I've found is a perfect size for a pair of MSDs lying down...though mine's currently crammed with most of my collection. I did have an issue with my kittens (who are completely wig obsessed) knocking over the entire bed to get to the wigs but I've fixed that now with some angle brackets and screwing the bed down onto the expedit shelving unit that it sits on so it's all rock solid.

    12. Hadn't thought of Marshalls/Ross for furniture. I might be making a trip out there soon!! Great idea.

    13. I made a doll sofa once. It was pretty nifty but it took up so much space I eventually threw it out. I would love to one day have a SD size and MSD size set up, but right now I just don't have the space. My dolls are all supposed to be students at an all-girls school so I'd love to make a classroom for them with desks and plastic chairs and a whiteboard/blackboard. It would be so cool!

    14. I adore finding little bits and pieces to create furniture and accessories for my Pukis and their dollhouse!

    15. Anyone have some pics with furniture they've made? I'm really curious to see how others set up their dolls. I don't have a lot of room but want to maybe start buying and/or making some chairs.

I can't say that I have made my doll furniture all by myself from the very beginning, but I have changed the bought non-doll items pretty much.

This was a casket of pink-black, but I've sewn a cover and now it looks much better.

The carpet on the floor is a computer mouse carpet, the chest of drawers is an ex-brown casket. It was painted and decorated
with pictures of angels. And the shelves on the right is a box for milk bottles ;)
To my mind there's no neccessity to buy special 'doll' furniture (at least for small dolls ;) ). It's a great joy to create it by yourselves:lol:

    17. I love that setup you have there, Zlatka!

    18. Speaking of finding furniture in unexpected places -- JoAnne Fabric has a garden bench in their ads at 30% off. It is hard to tell from the picture whether it would fit a tiny or an SSD.

    19. Zlatka- very cool!! I found a black wrought iron bench at Marshall's for my SD but its a little big. I also found lots of furniture for my pukipuki at Hobby Lobby that was in the spring fairy garden section. :-)

    20. I would love to have furniture for my dolls but those that are pretty and at the right size are just way out of my budget and I'd rather spend that money on doll accessories/clothes/actual doll ect
