Doll Furniture

Apr 2, 2005

    1. I bought some furniture from www.fleurdelys.com for my Pukifees. They have a specific section for lati yellow/pukifee so I felt so thrilled. Regretfully, although they show pictures of latis beside the furniture, they play with perspective and 90% of the furniture fits best pukipuki/ lati white/ real puki. Quite disapointing for me. A useless waste of money.
Anyone could suggest an online shop with furniture for pukifee?

    2. man, was just looking at resinettique's really gorgeous chairs… but the price they charge for a doll size chair is the price I would pay (or more!) for a human sized one ><;; it's a little hard to take

    3. I don't have much furniture for my dolls because they are big and need much place. What I have for them, is only 3 antique/classic chairs which I found them from eBay here.

    4. I have two of those metal garden chairs that are 1/4 scale. I got them at Michael's using one of those 50% coupons. I wish I had more furniture for them, but I just don't have the space or money for it right now.

    5. My girl is currently sleeping on her "chair", it's this big bench that appears to have been a holder for...candles? Potted plants? I have no idea.
I'm sure it will be perfect scale for my big guy, but it's definitely bed sized for my mini girl. Her back can't even rest against it because then her legs can't dangle over the edge! She looks very adorable curled up on it so I let her stay there.

It's very cute, though. It's hand carved and has a little heart on it. My fiance found it at the thrift store for $5, it needs to be sanded but is in otherwise great condition! He always finds the coolest doll stuff before I do. :)

    6. I like to "window shop" for cute furniture online but unless I found something cheap and worth the wait, I probably wouldn't buy anything. I pretty much exclusively buy furniture in antique/thrift stores. My girls currently have 2 wooden chairs (One was $3 and the other was $7), a vanity type desk with a working drawer (it's technically a tie rack/music box and I can't remember how much it was but it had to have been under $10), and lastly an adorable little couch that is a jewelry box as well so from the outside it looks normal but you can open it up and store things inside. That was my most expensive purchase at a whopping 15 bucks  so in general, I would keep it on the cheap side. Dolls don't need furniture as much as they need to be clothed and have hair. Also furniture that has a little extra storage space is always a plus ;)

    7. I'd like a chair or couch for my boy if I found one for a good price. However, I doubt I'd buy more than that.

    8. I've got a bit of furniture for my dolls, largely because it gives them good places to sit when they're on my shelves. My main MSD family has a pair of cute craft-store fairy garden benches (with some smaller-scale silk flowers and greens behind them for a nice backdrop), and the largest tiny family has a couple of sets of Ikea doll furniture for their shelf. There's also a Target AG-knockoff daybed I need to repaint and make new bedding for, with a "trundle" I'm using to store extra faceplates right now. My SD boy has a teddy bear chair I picked up cheap at a craft fair, and I'm currently working on an Ikea bed for my boy couple (the bedding that comes with it is terrible). There's also a doll-scale bean bag tucked away, and another cute Yo-scale chair one of those boys is using. I'd love to have full rooms for them all, but right now I don't have the space!

    9. That teddy bear chair sounds cute~ I'd like a nice comfy chair for my incoming SD, I'm thinking about making one myself since I'm not so sure on if I will actually keep her. I had her on layaway and lately I've been on the fence about her :\ She'll be really huge compared to me, since I'm so short, she'll be nearly half my height and that's kind of intimidating xD But at the same time I want to make really cute SD sized clothing Dx I hate being so indecisive ; n ; le sigh...

    10. I have a lot of furniture for my dolls (MSD size) but it's so expensive !
I am lurking right now on the American Girl furniture, so cute and so much choice but unaffordable, especially with the shipping cost to France !
My husband made me a wooden sunlounger :

And a beautiful french chair that I gave away for a swap, sigh... :

But he's too busy and doesn't want to make anything anymore, too bad for me !:...(

    11. Puppedoll , Your husband is so talented. The pieces he made are lovely. It was very generous of you to give up the chair in a swap, I hope the recipient appreciated it.

    12. Thank you Starlady !
Yes, he is talented but hard to convince !

Yes, the recipient of the swap did love the chair, especially as I used a Laura Ashley fabric that she already knew and loved. She was thrilled and I was very happy to please her. I gave her my remaining fabric and she made a tablecloth with it, she was over the moon !

I haven't participated in a swap since, I don't think we could be as successful anymore... but it was fun !:)

    13. Puppedoll - show your husband the prices Resin Etiquette charges then convince him to open a commission thread because hot-damn! that furniture is amazing!

    14. I am drooling over that French chair. :D

I've got quite a lot of furniture accumulated now, but these are a couple of my favourite pieces:

Volks sofa. Hideously expensive, but I don't regret it - it looks beautiful in photos and fits the Victorian setting many of my dolls are from perfectly.

An old-fashioned "conversation bench" I found at an antique store.

    15. It's so hard to find great furniture--especially in 1:4 or 1:3 scale. I will have to check out resin etiquette.

    16. Their stuff costs more than some dolls. Just fair warning

    17. Yikes! I just went to their site and it can add up!

    18. I got really lucky- my best friend from high school (a decade or two friendship here) gifted my Newt a bedroom set she found! Newt loves her new princess bed!

    19. I have a friend who made me a tiny doll couch and a tiny TV, with Doctor Who on the screen. It's a lot of fun to have a little setup for them :)

    20. here are some desk chairs i modified from some barbie chairs to fit my minifees. the glue is still hardening so i can't actually put a doll in them yet to show the scale. i'll post again later with a doll and the desk that i'm making to got with them
