1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Doll Furniture

Apr 2, 2005

    1. Wow! Those look amazing! But I'd be more interested in 1/4 scale furniture. I scrounge around doll shows and secondhand shops for suitable furniture for photo shoots with my dolls. I don't make rooms, just store the furniture on bookcases in my studio, and usually haul whatever I need upstairs to set up scenes on my dining room table.

    2. i agree those are amazing, but 1/3 size is too big, i need the 1/4 which seems harder to find

    3. Lol! I was just looking at the measurements and thinking the 1/3 size is too small for my boys! If I'm going to plunk down that kind of change I want the scale to be spot on!

    4. Doll furniture and clothes are really the main reason I want to get an SD doll. There is just no good stuff for MSD sized dolls in any of the looks I like.

I know that both American Girl Doll and Barbie stuff is somewhat in scale for MSD's, so I'm looking into cheaply getting some barbie stuff to test out the scale.

    5. barbie stuff is way too small for msds. it is 1/6th scale not 1/4th it fits the yosd sized dolls instead like littlefees, honeydelfs, bids etc. american girl stuff can be ok, but some of it is just too bulky and like girrl said if it's expensive (and with shipping it usually is) i want the scale to be exact!

    6. I have bought some furniture for my SDs. Chairs, tables, bookshelves, cabinets, sofas, even carpet.

    7. The problem I'm expecting with my small MSD (they are in the odd range between MSD and YoSD) is that Barbie stuff will be too narrow, not simply just too small. I am probably going to get one of those DYI AGD kits people make so I can at least get something like a book shelf and fireplace display for my MSD's and then just hand build a scale backdrop for some other stuff.

I am so lucky that most of my dolls can hang out in my back yard and shit.

    8. Barbie items will be too small. Frankly, they're too small for Barbie. If you look at a Barbie chair it's impossible for a Barbie to sit in it the way a person would. The doll has to have it's legs way out in front of it to be able to actually sit on the chair. I've been down this road. I would recommend that you avoid it. There are a couple of very nice Etsy stores that sell 1/6 and 1/4 furniture items (not so much 1/3 from what I've been able to find). Sure they're going to cost more, but you're going to save yourself time and frustration by buying something that you know if going to work and that isn't some Pepto-Bismol coloured piece of plastic.

    9. if your dolls are an odd size then custom built furniture is often the best way to go. you can commission some of the stuff you can't make yourself on etsy and elsewhere, but there are also a lot of good tutorial threads in the workshop forum for anything from simple to elaborate diys.

    10. Oh my gosh, LoudOwl, now that is some doll furniture to aspire to!

Incidentally, I'm a bit surprised that 1/4 scale is harder to find than 1/3. Usually when I'm looking for things, it seems I can find everything but 1/3 scale. But maybe that's just how it feels for everyone.

    11. Oh gosh, yes, doll furniture! I really feel sorry for my SD doll when he's sitting/lying down somewhere, so I just bought him a rocking chair and bed online. They've just arrived and they're gorgeous! I'm currently looking to buy a table and some chairs for him too! Just wish I knew where to find utensils/cutlery/foodstuff that fits him...

    12. I love looking at doll furniture, but tend to shy away from buying it due to the prices. xD; Doll furniture sellers should charge what they do for it though, mostly because it's gorgeous almost every time.

    13. Can I ask where you purchased your furniture from? I'm looking for something for an SD doll that doesn't cost $700 dollars (though the $700 chair I saw is beautiful)?

    14. Where did you buy the SD sized bed? I've been looking for an SD sized bed forever.

    15. i bet some of the stuff for american girl would work. even though they are the same height as msds the accessories usually look way too big.

    16. I recently found a couple of pieces of "Boyd's Bears" furniture at a secondhand store that turned out to be absolutely perfect for my 1/3 girl....beautiful real wood, spindly chairs....I think I paid less than $25. You can find some of these on ebay....I saw a two-person 'conversation chair' that I am kicking myself for not buying.

    17. I got to stay in a vacation rental for a week over the summer. The bedroom I was staying in had chairs on a shelf that were the perfect size for my SD boy. I was just sad I couldn't take them home with me!

    18. I found a hanging bird feeder at Lowe's that looks like a porch swing for about $12. All I had to do was make cushions and take the hanger ring off the ropes. It works great and is perfect for msd. I can fit 3 on it.

    19. I actually bought a small chair for my Pukisha a while ago from Claire's. It's meant to hold your iPod but he fits in it perfectly. I also have an old wooden doll chair I've never used. I'll probably put it to use one of these days when I can get a space to take better photos.
