1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Doll Furniture

Apr 2, 2005

    1. I've bought a metal bench, wooden chairs and small wooden boxes from shops that sell things for gardening. All those are really meant to hold flowerpots. And I've found small shelves that are ment to be hanged on the wall that can be used as small bookshelves by dolls. And I' ve also found several boxes with glass lid (ment for storing tea, candles and other nicnacs) that can be used as vitrins.

Last weekend I saw in our local market jewelryboxes in shape of a sofa and armchair. The were small, 1/6 size.

    2. My first doll arrived a few days ago and the only seating that suits his personality is a throne so my husband has been looking at pictures and materials to make one. I just hope it works out.

    3. This is the ''Table-room'' Mia has at the moment.

The bed and chair were sent to me from a friend in NY, they were things that she did not want anymore and got to get rid of for a bit of money (And make someone happy at the same occasion). The two pieces of furniture comes from the dollar store in my area, and are definately way too small for MSD size.

Excuse the poor quality of the picture, I'm rather shaky, especially with a cellphone, and the light was completely non-existent.

    4. My girls have two shelves in my bookshelf, decorated with a table and two chairs made of paper clay to resemble braided tree branches, a little chest looking like half a log, and a bench, all of which I have made. Accessories and tools have I found second hand and the like. They still don't have a proper bed yet, though. Since upper shelf has faux wood pattern, the "basement" is a den with dirt walls and floor, with a tree trunk pillar in the corners. I'm picturing maybe a moss or fur mattress to match the furs they use as covers.

    5. My Pukifees have their own shelf on my bookshelf; I bought them a living room set from Hobby Lobby that I think is actually intended for smaller dolls but fits them okay. They also have some furniture I found at thrift stores, and some old barbie props. My Minifees have a box/diorama thing that my dad built for me, which is mounted on my wall. I bought an Our Generation daybed for them from Target, and found a beanbag chair at walmart that was made for American Girls but fits MSDs perfectly. I've made a couple of pieces of furniture for them as well (including a hideous couch that got thrown out because I couldn't stand looking at it anymore, lol). Thrift stores are probably my favorite place to look for doll props. You never know what you'll find and odds are you'll get a great deal.

    6. I managed to get a bookcase (from kmart) and a cabinet from an art store all in the art sections. I think the designed purpose would be for all crafty bits and bobs! I'm in the midst of painting it but ran out of spray paint. I've been wanting beds but it's impossible to find reasonably priced 1/3 beds :( especially in australia

    7. I just found this thread and really enjoy it. I've always liked to check out antique stores, flea markets and rummage sales so now I feel like I've found a treasure when I stumble across a pice of furniture for my BJDs. I have quite a collection which is currently sitting in top of my bookcases. I'll have to move some on I'm sure but it kind of looks cool just seeing the chairs, beds, and tables randomly set up with my dolls mixed in the mess. My last find was a rummage sale in Wisconsin where I picked up all kinds of stuff for $20! Chairs, rocking chairs, a MSD sized pink depression glass covered platter with four tumblers, a cool metal garden bench for SD size dolls. Even some pom poms for a quarter!

    8. I'm looking into using basswood to make some cheap bjd furniture for self use. I've stalled that plan until I can find a power saw I feel comfortable purchasing and using unsupervised. I took woodshop in high school but a steady hand I'm not, so I want to find one that won't try to pull free from my hand the moment it starts biting the wood. I mean I could just use a handsaw but that makes my hand cramps easily.

I'm kinda worried basswood may be too soft though, but it's cheap so if it doesn't work out I can't say I wasted a whole lot.

    9. My dolls have two couches, a desk and a couple little cushions to sit on. They also have a table lamp that looks like a floor lamp for them and a tiny framed photo on the wall. I really wish there was more SD furniture out there.

    10. Strombecker furniture from the 1950s can be found on EBay. I had this furniture when I was a child, and used it for my Little Miss Revlon and Ginny dolls. So the furniture would be perfect for 1/6 scale dolls. The furniture is well made in a blond colored wood.
Search for it under "vintage doll furniture' as well as by name, as some sellers don't know the name.

    11. I would really love to get my dolls furniture/sets but I don't know where I would store said things. I don't have a lot of room in my room, so I am not sure how to handle furniture and such for them if I need to put things away.

    12. i have furniture, a chair, wardrobes and lots of small props. i am planning to make a diorama once i move because it would be nice for my dolls to have a home.

    13. I love how my mom knows to look around for smaller furniture for my doll. She was at Cracker Barrel and she saw a smaller chair and it fit my MSD perfectly! I was so excited :D It's super cute.

I really really wanna get her a bed and stuffs :D

    14. I have found a lot of really nice pieces while antique shopping. That and if you want more of a small project; just items that need maybe a nice coat of paint!
I collect little tea sets for my dolls, and have gotten all of such from antique shopping with my family.

That and a really nice doll couch, wooden doll chairs, doll bench, and other little dolly props.

Unrelated to antique shops: I found a small dog bed made to look like a persons mini-bed. If I had the money, with some quilting--- It would of been the PERFECT MSD sized doll bed. It was located at Home Goods.

I prefer searching more-so than buying online. However if I do buy online I tend to buy on etsy.

    15. I recently purchased an American doll sized couch for my Minifees on eBay. I also bought a chair that I re-upholstered in some black suede from old thrift store pants. I like looking for furniture in yard sales and then re-making or re-finishing the pieces to suit my style.

    16. I have bought them a dining table ,a bed (from taobao), a desk (from daiso),a sofa(from big w)
Will add pics when i can

    17. I have several chairs that I've purchased and a set with a sofa 2 chairs and a little table big enough for a t party.

    18. Not yet. What I really want for him is a throne. My husband plans to make one but hasn't had time. He's never made doll furniture before and since it will be from scratch I think he's a bit hesitant and doesn't want to mess it up.

    19. I recently purchased a 5 drawer storage cart for my MSD from Big Lots. Technically it's a desk organizer for paperclips and similar, but it looks just like the storage carts I've got for my stuff.

    20. I have some furniture for them, but nearly as much as I'd like. It's kind of hit or miss. I have two beds, one armoire, some random chairs and benches. I have friends who have GREAT luck finding second hand/thrift store furniture, but I don't have such luck. Sometimes I think about making some cardboard furniture but I don't.
