It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Doll Furniture

Apr 2, 2005

1. Here's my most recent two pieces, all for SD and up. Have to make furniture by myself because it's so hard to find anything in scale, not to mention an interesting design:

2. Oh boy, those pieces of furniture are SO professional! Are you a cabinet maker or something?? Loving that sofa too Mio Mokko - that's the kind of thing I want to work on when I find something to use as a base. I've already saved some curved pieces of foam packaging which will work great for the arms!

For the SD sized dolls Ikea have some bits of furniture - a wooden bed in particular - that could be improved upon with paint etc??

3. The bed from Ikea is much too small for SDs, but with a little tweaking it's lovely for MSDs. I've got one here that's all painted up with a heavy whitewash, and another that I'm not quite sure what I'll do with it yet, along with materials for bedding for them.

Ikea still has the little set of furniture that suits Tinies quite well, too, and I keep meaning to travel up with one of my SD boys to see how the kid-size kitchenware suits them (it all seems to be a bit on the large size for my MSDs).

4. Ah, the amount of tiny stuff I have... I remember being all about American Girl stuff in the 80s (wayyy before BJDs) & I've tiny china & a collection of those little liquor bottles that I've had for 40 years. So OMG I've got furniture LOL
I've got 2 patio sets - one is iron & the other wicker. I've a dining room table w/chairs, 2 sofas (cat beds - I justified it since I have 2 cats LOL who do lay on them on the dollies' laps), a love seat, a telephone chair, a velvet chaise lounge, 2 rocking chairs, 2 upholstered comfy chairs, 5 or 6 dressers, several book cases, desks, a china cupboard, a wooden stove :D I've got furniture!

BTW most is SD - 1/3 size - since even tho I've got MSD & YOSD sizes my dollie universe demands that everything be more or less 1/3 size, so except for the things that would normally be child-size (some chairs, a couple little tables, etc) it's all supposed to be SD size.

5. Teleri - I'd love to see a picture of all your furniture! We have LOTS of American Girl stuff here. But the kid won't let me near it. Lol. She knows I'll keep it!

6. smart kid? ^^

7. Sorry, was that said to me?

8. Yes forgive me, I should have said your name Ira_scargeear I just thought your furniture was so gorgeous! It looks hand painted, absolutely stunning!

9. Artyrosie, thank you very much! No, I'm not a boy, I'm a girl, and these pieces are designed by me and cut on a laser machine out of high quality plywood. Yes, they're painted by hand. I love to make furniture like this. I started to make it just because it was hard to find something to my taste, so I had to learn a lot in the process.

10. They are simply gorgeous, Ira_scargeear!
trayola - I actually don't have that much American Girl furniture (pricey, out of stock, NOT 1/3 scale) I should post some pics tho. I've a doll-size pool table & foozball game LOL Gotta keep the boys happy....

11. ira_scargeear, your work is simply gorgeous! The ornate designs and the in-scale fabric, so very beautiful. I opened the furniture section of your website to see more, and it is all amazing. (Also, "oh boy" is said as an exclamation to girls too, it just means you're feeling surprise/excitement or similar ^^)

12. ira_scargeear That furniture is fantastic! Very well done. I love the hand-painted accents.

13. From Cost Plus? (I was looking at those and waffling... and then they were out of stock before I decided. Fail)

14. The creativity and talent on display on this site never disappoints.. this furniture is wonderful

15. I got one at Big Lots & the other online - they show up in those mail-order catalogs before Christmas a lot. I got a table-top drumset for my boy Crash that way, for $25 which was way cheap I thought. Here's a pic:

17. vicemage what did you have to tweak to make the ikea bead fit an msd?

18. auntbear, I'm actually a little lazy and haven't properly done it, but it seems to need a slight trim on the bottoms of the legs, to make it a little less tall. The length suits my MSDs nicely, and the width is enough that two can share it easily. :) I know there's a few pictures of it around the forum (search "duktig" to find them) showing how it fits, and eventually when I get mine done I'll take some shots to share, too.

19. I like to get chairs for them. Helps display them and all.

20. thanks vicemage i have one of the beds i picked up last summer, but hadnt had time to set it up/ make bedding for it yet. i saw someone use one for their dolls and thought it looked good so when i happened to be near an ikea (something that doesn't happen often) i snagged one. i'll have to see what i think of the leg length. i like my furniture to look really in scale
