2. evilhamster13, thanks a lot! English is not my first, so I was a bit confused, thank you for the explanation too))
derbydoll, thank you so much!

3. Made another piece of furniture for my SD dolls out of scrap wood. An entertainment unit! (took forever to make all those little books and magazines by hand as well) And choosing a color to spray paint it was the biggest debate i had with myself as well. Everything else are lil props i already had from my childhood except for the tv which is just a DVD on a stand, quite clever . Hope you guys like it :)[IMG]Handmade SD entertainment unit by snarecrazi, on Flickr

4. OMG I'd pay just for the 'books' alone. They look so much better than a bunch of 'uniform copies'. But you have something missing. You should have at least one that is a "photo album"... even in the digital age everyone needs one for all the 'old pics' lol... But yup the dvd is clever too... I love how your books have titles too... I'd have to have a mess of paperback novels by my fave authors lol... I'd love that. This is too awesome :o:thumbup

5. I've seen lots of lovely doll furniture on Etsy, but most of the pieces I really love are Barbie-sized and too small for my BJDs. The furniture pieces I have now (couches, settee, and chair) were all lucky finds on Ebay. I think most were labeled with vague descriptors like "doll furniture," so it required a lot of site scrolling to find them.

I like some of the American Girl furniture, but with the limited quantities available, I think it's overpriced for what you get. I've only got limited display space now, so I'll just keep trolling for those amazing eBay finds!

6. Thanks alot! Ive been working on alot of furniture this week since i had so many days off. i actually did want to have my fav novels as well but my printer broke and i havent purchased a new one otherwise i would have put labels on the books not just leather covers and decorate tapes but its a great start to the living room space i image for my dolls

7. snarecrazi what did you do for the inside of your books? do they actually open or are they just display only?

8. No they are normal books that open and close. I make different kinds depending on the materials i have on hand, Some are all blank pages inside with leather covers and then some have manga/magazine/pamplet papers inside with decorative duct tape covers it varies. I use staples and silicone glue as well. For example If you look at the book i made that the doll is holding its 4 separate stacks of papers glued onto the leather cover i made these are much larger than the other books as the bookcase i made our of wood was larger. Hope that helps![IMG]handmade leather back and softfur cover bjd books by snarecrazi, on Flickr

9. For those with big SD's The Doll Market has a 24 x 36 inch chaise in three colors on sale. The price does not include shipping, but is really reasonable. I don't have room, so must pass. (colors are burgundy, cream or white)

10. I eventually want to create little living areas for my dolls so that aren't just sitting on my shelf. But I've yet to find the time to make props or furniture for them. I thunk people would enjoy my collection a little more if the dolls I have looked interactive.

11. I recently bought my first piece of furniture for yosd size. I bought it off a seller on Amazon but can't remember the name of the seller. Which is a shame because I Would love to get another. I will post on here when I find it.

12. I only have one piece of furniture for my doll right now (though I'd love to have lots more if I had room. Lol)
It was a damaged item I rescued from the clearanced spring decorations at Joann Fabrics, repaired it and added pegs to the legs (to add height) and made some pillows for. It cost me about $12- $15 dollars in all, I think.

14. I found a pincushion shaped like a chair at Tuesday Morning, and if you rip out the stitches attaching the throw pillow to the seat it's the perfect size for dolls Yo-sized and smaller. :3 My tinies love to sit in it and I like to imagine them fighting over it when I'm not at home.

Which means I'll have to make some wee little beanbag chairs so everybody gets a seat--fortunately I have an abundance of fabric, and some little packs of plastic pellets were on clearance lately at Jo-Ann.

15. I have two chairs for my dolls that I just happened to find at a thrift store. I made a couch out cardboard, fabric, and stuffing. But I left it out and my parent's cat slept on it so it got crushed.

16. I just scored a little almira/wardrobe-looking thing from the thrift store last weekend! Here are my dolls messing with it. For anyone who wants doll wardrobes and chest of drawers-es for $5-10, your best bet is thrift store jewelry boxes (I think that's what this is. Or else a closet for a positively Lilliputian child :p My dolls have other perfectly-scaled furniture which most definitely started life as jewelry boxes.) They can be a bit plain or beaten-up, but you can paint or embellish them as you see fit; I'm thinking of making this one into a bit of a project.

:atremblin How tragic!
I've been wanting to try to make a couch myself with foamcore/fabric/etc, as the doll and bear chairs I see for sale in stores never look in scale to me.

17. I have finally got a space I am mostly happy with so I started putting up my collection of furniture for my SDs. There is a full hutch, a half hutch, an over full bookshelf, and two letter press drawer for shelves. There is also a couch made out of cardboard and fabric that I intend to remake one day now that I understand how. I do have a small couch for my MSDs and a dresser and dress form and my Tiny has a set of Ikea furniture. There is also a bistro set including a table and two chairs that are SD sized, but I dunno what I'm doing with those yet. I really need a room devoted to my dolls and their stuff.

18. Lue has a lot of western style furniture, including three different American girl beds, most of which the other MSD sized kids will be borrowing.

This is because Lue has decided to go back to his Japanese roots, he's a Volks MSD Kohaku. ;)

So I have been having fun searching for and collecting suitable furniture for his future traditional style Japanese house. It's actually quite surprising the amount workable pieces I've managed to find.

The prize so far, has been a traditional Japanese cooking/fire pit, complete with the ornamental fish cast iron hanger and a cooking pot, that I recently happened to spot on eBay. I'm not sure if it's actually a realistic functioning scale model, or a really big fancy incense burner. Heck, for all I know it could be a novelty ashtray that was just never used. Whatever it was meant to be used for, it's going to be perfect for Lue's house!

Lol, he doesn't get to use that particular piece right now, because at the moment his living quarters are set up on the floor in my room, and I draw the line at cutting a hole in my bedroom floor in order to accommodate his traditional cooking/fire pit!;)

20. Just noticed that The Doll Market online store has extra long (24 inches) fainting couches on sale.
I got two of their wing chairs awhile back and they are really nice.
