Doll Furniture

Apr 2, 2005

    1. I just ordered an american girl doll 3 tired bunk bed and a table set for my dolls and hopefully making a room for them

    2. I like totally forgot that I had american girl doll furniture. Hopefully I didn't sell any by accident, but my dad and I do plan on making furniture ourselves for my dolls.

    3. I love this thread.... I have chairs, couches, tables, patio furniture, (no beds YET!)
I love all the extras... Suitcases, round hat cases, briefcases, sunglasses, gloves, hats...
My Patio furniture is AWESOME! I also love sunroom furniture...

    4. I found a very charming rococo chair at an antique store, but so far that's been my only furniture purchase.I'm not sure what else I would want for my doll.

    5. I've been buying the "Our Generation" furniture from Target -- it's scaled like American Girl, but usually much, much cheaper. It's the perfect scale for my YoSD sized little boy, because he actually looks like a little boy up against the stuff!

I have serious qualms about AG furniture being in scale for actual AG or similar dolls -- since when does an 11-year-old girl take up the full length of her bed and tower over her kitchen cabinets? -- but the 1/6 dolls work with this size furniture, if anyone is interested.

My only reservation is that so much of it is available only in pink, and I'm not interested in a pink kitchen, pink washer/dryer, pink bedframes, etc.

    6. I had gotten some of this brand as well this and last year the kitchen i found was Red, the washer and dryer a teal blue, an ice cream trunk thats a light green etc the newer stuff has less pink thankfully

    7. You found the same ones I did!:3nodding:

Yeah, I hunted at different stores until I got the non-pink pieces. For a while there, I was afraid I'd have to paint them -- I wasn't looking forward to it. And as soon as I bought them, those colors vanished from the stores! All I found was pink for about six months.

I just purchased a bathtub from Amazon that's in the same scale, though not from that collection. I really wanted a white tub, and all I found in the usual places were pink or purple. It took Amazon before I found the white tub. This wasn't too expensive, either -- the brand was "My Doll's Life".

    8. I actually ended up painting one of the cars because all of the styles were pink/purple colors and honestly it came out fine.
      this is it right here:

i tend to only paint the second hand things i find but the OG car goes on sale all the time

    9. I've been looking between Target and Toys R Us at different doll beds-- the OG one at my local Target now is a yellow frame, sort of daybed-ish shape, except it doesn't have the extra cushioning to become a sofa during the day, and I like that it's cheaper, but there was a white trundle bed at TRU that I thought would hold all of my boys at once, if Pete and Billy shared the main bed while Vince took the trundle... so I'm undecided right now, but I might be asking my family for doll furniture for the holidays. It'll be nice to set them out on furniture again instead of keeping them on the shelf in the closet.

I'll have to check Amazon as well, though-- there are probably some options I haven't even seen yet.

@snarecrazi Wow, I love the car-- what kind of paint did you use?

    10. Thank you!
I use the spray paints that say they are for wood or plastic from home depot they are 4 bucks a can and have dozens of colors

    11. I have a few pieces, but until recently I had no way of setting up or storing any furniture for my dolls so I kept it pretty sparse: a dresser (which is bonus storage), a chair that is also a music box, stuff like that. Recently I got a set of shelves so I can finally take my dolls out of storage and do stuff with them again, and that means making rooms for each scale. I love making miniatures so the tinies are getting most of the love right now. I just found a new second hand store I need to check out nearby too, so hopefully their 'apartments' won't be so spartan for long.

    12. I did buy a couch for my dolls. I do plan in buying a bed and would love to get a house made for them. I also own a bjd cat and want to get a cat tree for her.

    13. I just found bought a gold sled from walmart that will fit my little Fee Fee perfectly. Now I just have to make her some cushions and a new ball gown, steal my sisters barbie horse and she'll be ready to go to a ball.:sumomo:

    14. I have a dollhouse couch and a dollhouse dining room chair and they fit perfectly for my Robin. I also have a wall decoration that greatly resembles a couch that's, once again, a perfect fit for Robin. They're more 'child-sized' though.

    16. Wow! That link is from 2005! I'm not surprised that it's not working anymore.

Unfortunately, The Doll Market doesn't carry the wide array of doll furniture it once did. Several companies that use to supply them with doll furniture have either ceased production or gone out of business.

Which is really too bad! 10 years ago, like Lishe posted, I also got a lot of pieces from Doll Market.
