1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Doll Furniture

Apr 2, 2005

    1. I've always wanted Volks furniture, but they are so expensive, to me the dolls are more important and I would rather save up my money for a new doll that I like rather than blow it on furniture. But I do hope sometime in the near future I'll be able to purchase a chair.

    2. Thanks so much for all this, everyone! I can't wait 'til payday!!!

    3. I was at IKEA last week and they carry a doll bed for $20..looks sturdy. Here's a pic!

If I ever buy one I will paint it, and perhaps change the foot rail. BTW, this is more for MSD size bjds.

    4. Ooo, very cool find Chopsart!

I just went to Beverly's (cheapo craft store) and in their wedding/floral decoration section they had a number of doll-sized champagne flutes (clear, silver, and gold), wine glasses, and margarita glasses. In their fake flower section I found bunch of glass bowls in various shapes and sizes... I picked up a 5" which I'm going to make into a fish bowl - complete with a ball-jointed fish! Might fill it with clear resin to make it really look like water, but I also want to be able to move/play with the fishy...

    5. Does anyone know of any Asian-style furniture that is to scale for 60cm dolls? I'm mainly interested in Korean and Chinese styles. I can find it for myself, but no luck for my dollies so far.

    6. Oh! Forgot to mention that I have a slide that my boys could play with if I ever got any. One day one of the neighbors was throwing away an old toddler-sized playground, and I thought my ferrets would enjoy the slide, so I brought the slide home and cleaned it up. It's a bit wide for MSD size, but hey, that means two could go down it together. Since I didn't bring the stand for it home, it sits fairly equal to my bed, so my ferrets use it sometimes when getting off of my bed.

I remember there was a while there where they had these artificial fish tank toys where you would fill it with a clear gel and then arrange the plastic fish or the spaceships (they had a Star Wars one) to your liking. I don't know if they still make these, but you might be able to find it where educational toys are sold (mine might have been from Zany Brainy, if there's one in your area). The gel would be perfect since you could still move the fish, but they'd be suspended when on display. You might want to sculpt or cast the fish out of something liquid proof, though. Hmm, even if they don't make these anymore, I'm sure that you could find clear gel SOMEWHERE that would be the right viscosity.

    7. I will probably buy a bed for my dolls, but I live in Chicago and we have an American Girl store here and with MSDs around 16-17 inches tall and the AG girls being 18 inches it works out. Although the bed would probably be the only piece of furniture my first two dolls will have since I got a couple of ideas for cute poses using the bed. Although if I got bigger SD dolls, I'd be at a lost what to get for them other than a chair*_*

    8. Hehe, I TOTALLY had one of those! Two actually :) One was an underwater scene with scuba divers and fish and sharks and stuff. The other was a smaller beach scene with a volleyball court. No idea where they went. You have to add a few Tbs of distilled water to keep the gel from drying out completely, but that stuff would work really well!

    9. Great suggestions for furniture...thanks, all.

    10. I bought a doll bed from Ikea(the bed cost only $17) actually... believe it or not its cheap and it fits for 2 MSD in there... xD A very cute bed for the girls to sleep and I just finish made a rocking chair for the girls as well... My mum used to have some small cabinets for their cosmetic and accessories fit well to be their drawers. XD

    11. I have two SD size bunk beds, one AG bed (so MSD), and an old-fashioned doll bed that probably belonged to my mother, that would also fit MSD

I have the AG wheelchair...and my mom's doll chair that desperately needs a paint-job. I could probably make a cover for it to change it into an armchair or something.

Tinies would be a lot easier to buy or make furniture for ^^; Most barbie beds would be the right size, I think.

    12. So Im sure there has been threads about the topic of furniture for your bjd's but I haven't seen any so here goes.I just purchased my first bjd and was thinking about buying some furniture for her only because Im not that great at making stuff like that. And I was wondering where to buy it from?Ive heard of american girl furniture but I dont know if bjd's fit on them.I just want to get like the basic furniture.A bed chair and possibly a sofa, my question is where to buy the most inexpensive furniture that works and still looks nice.So does anyone know of any websites?

      Thanks so much for reading,
      Hilary From pennsylvania

    13. Aaah, you didn't look too hard; there's an active thread right in this section here: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11280
Tons of pages so far. There's also a newer thread that's focused more on the price people are paying for these things.

I've seen lots of people mention Ross stores. Then you wouldn't have to pay for shipping. I think I've also seen people mention Target, thrift stores, antique stores, flea markets, garage sales, etc.
Apparently MSD sized dolls fit in American Girl, but I don't know about SD sized dolls.

    14. This is actually something I've been thinking about alot. Right now I think if I ever wanted some furniture for my future boy, I'd much rather make it then buy it..or at least, ask my dad to, since he always really likes to be involved in what I'm interested in. :)

So far though, all I'm really interested in is a bed and a little chest of drawers or closet or something of that same sort since I really like to sew and I want a pretty wardrobe for him. :) The only part that's got me worried about the bed is I'd probabaly plan for it to be for two dolls rather than one, but I know they'd be of different heights, so I'm not exactly sure where to go with that. O.o Oh well, guess I'll find out someday.

    15. the haven way gang has furniture...i'm trying to keep it somewhat consist in a simple style...lots of wood but nothing too fancy. But i take what i can get so the collection has become kind of eclectic. Its simply because i enjoy having them act out life other then residing in a box in a corner of the room when i'm not there. Yellowing isnt an issue for me...i want to enjoy and play with them...so they get to play too! :)

    16. You might want to check local antique/consignment shops. I found a beautiful wooden bed at a local consignment shop, and it wasn't much more than one of the American Girl doll beds would be. It's a little short for 60cm, but it is perfect for 45cm. I'll post photos of ever I get around to making some nice sheets for it!
