Doll Furniture

Apr 2, 2005

    1. I have a beautiful wicker doll chair that I got from my aunt but the only problem is my doll can't use it :...( ! Lance, (Kyle Reese) has legs that are just to long. I was wondering if I might be able to find some furniture sized for 70cm and above dolls. I know that Dollmore sells a couch in the model doll size but I just don't want to spend that kind of money. (About $100 and that's with out shipping*_*)

I really love my boy and want to get him at least one nice piece of furniture but I just don't know where to look for reasonably priced items in his size. I'm hoping maybe a bed or a nice couch, any idea's where I could look or should I learn a little bit more about woodworking?

    2. I don't envy you Psycofox(except for the fact you have a Kyle Reese and are probably a cool person and such) finding scale things for 70cm must be so hard!!

I want to get my boy a bed but until I actually, yeh know, acquire him I have no way of knowing it's scale XD I wouldn't mind getting a couple chairs too seeing as I want to get other dolls(and I don't think they'd appreciate being chucked on one bed ha ha)

    3. I like finding things in unexpected places. There is a pet bed sold at Walmart that looks like a couch. Wouldn't you know...I can throw all eleven dolls on it (MSDs and tinies) and it just looks like they're hanging out on a couch bed. When I fold it out, it gives them EVEN MORE room. That's if they don't want to sit on their inflatable loveseat from Build A Bear, or if the tinies don't want to sit in their BAB tent. Jewelry boxes are often great doll dressers. I do have one rocking chair made for dolls, but it's for SD and anyway only Baron gets to sit in it, it's HIS chair.

The price of furniture, for me, would depend on what it is made of and what the piece is.

    4. I have purchased a beautiful french chair for my yet to be bjd. I chose a chair as I thought it would be a nice safe way to display her.

    5. I bought a wooden chair and a sofa from Volks. The wooden chair was only $22 bucks and I think they will ship it for $12:

There is some idiot on ebay selling that same chair for $40 with $20 shipping! Ouch!

The sofa is no longer at their website, but still available at their store, but if you call or email them they can send it to you. It sells for about $180. When I bought it I asked them how much it would cost to ship and they said $12. It was extravagant but I adore it and is quite roomy:

    6. I get my furnitures on chanced encounters, and they are found in Living Cabin or Hot Market. The furnitures are usually chairs, because Sefa sleeps in his carrier. :sweat So far Sefa has a beach chair (tad small for him, but perfect for Tinies), a fold-able stool and a wicker chair.

    7. I plan on making some furniture for my boys. I just can't find any decent materials right now. That and all the tools we own are in storage. T^T I've found a few things at our local Dollar Store but They weren't really a style I liked. :/ That and too small. XD I'm gonna have to go to Micheal's and I saw a really cute chair at Wal-Mart I wanted. XD Must go shopping.

    8. If there's a Michael's around, they usually have dolly sized wooden things, or things that you could mod to make into dolly things. ^^ When I was younger I had American Girl Dolls, so I have a bed from them that I plan on using for my Sprite when she shows up. I want to make her a sleeping bag though, because she has a few places where she'll be staying probably.

    9. What about a closet/dresser? I know that once i get my doll she is going to have so many clothes..... And some of them would be better to hang then to fold.

    10. So far I've bought a Tonner Little Kitty bed for my Baha, and my Delf's clothes are in an Asian-inspired jewelry box from Orientalfurniture.com. I currently have my eye on some pretty mini/tiny-sized chairs at Dollmore for her. A wardrobe that will hold all of those poufy little dresses, now that's going to be a problem.

    11. I made a vanity chair and vanity table for my 60 cm girls and i love it. I had some foamcore board and fabric and trims and fabric glue and a hot glue gun. Oh! and a good imagination.
Now I am making some beds, chairs, couch, and eventually other furniture pieces. When i get pictures i will post what I have made!

    12. I found a perfectly good chair for Emily at the bookstore. It was a jewelry box shaped like a black and pink heart-like chair. When she comes, I am gonna spam with pics so you will see in time. Not to mention I am probably gonna buy more of them. They had a lounging couch, a sofa and a cozy chair in her size. The bed was a little too small, but fit for maybe the 20-cm and smaller dolls. :D

    13. So far the girls have a basket-bed they'll have to share. I'm also thinking of getting the tiny table/chairs set at ikea (I think it's $20) and I really want to find a tea set!

    14. I bought a little coffee table & chair set for Alice, and made her a bed from a makeup box I had ( it was made to look like a bed, so it worked out well^^), and I won a chair for my SD at a party too.
I've often heard that pet beds are wonderful for SD's as well. :3

    15. i would loovveee a couch for my doll, little bitty furniture is so cute. TwT but i don't have the funds at the moment.
before i got my doll, i bought this park bench thinking maybe it would fit him, but the back was too height so it looks weird. *sighsigh*

    16. I bought one of the beds from Domuya.

      http://denofangels.com/bed.html

I was so excited about it when I got it,... but I so seldom use it anymore. it sits in my closet out of the way.

I do really enjoy using couches and chairs though. I have several of those. I have a couple from VOLKS that I love..
and I have a great fancy armchair from Moggie (http://moggie.mine.nu/shop/ )

I do want to eventually have a full room setup, but my house is too small and I haven't had time, truely.

    17. I just found my old mytwinn bed and some other miscellaneous furniture I had for my mytwinn and American Girl dolls when I was younger (mytwinn bed, AG-sized bunk beds, random table and chairs). I'll probably hang on to most of it for my future dolls- I plan to set it up in a corner of my room ^.^ But as for additional furniture, I doubt I'll be buying any anytime soon- I'd rather save up for the dolls themselves. If I ever did, I probably wouldn't buy anything over $100.

    18. Eep, double post- sorry!

    19. I have quite a bit of furniture for my dolls. Let's see... A wicker chair from Hobby Lobby, an upholstered chair from Ross, another chair from the antique store near my house, plus... I think three chairs and one couch from my local doll store (in League City, if anyone wants to visit him!). He's always giving me wonderful deals, like for the older set he asked $10 or some insanely low price, because some of the bits are coming loose. I really ought to buy out his furniture weekly and offer it here, since it's always PERFECT for my mini girl (and something for my Bambicrony).
