there's info on page 2 about matching.

luts BW it turns out doesn't match well, it is way too light. DIM are very pale, but not THAT pale.

Cristy Stone has pics of her danbi girl in the gallery... she's on a volks sd13 body. I think her head is a little lighter than her body.

it DOES seem DIM is a tough match to other resin.

Thanks Sher - I had read the discussion on the thread you linked me to - I was hoping by now there might be some clearer answers. *-*'' Doesn't look like they're are.

Volks does seem to be the closest match on most parts though - but which skin tone? - Pureskin?

 

I personally don't like how the Volks pureskin looks with DIM, but that's just me being picky.^^; Volks pureskin is a little darker and more yellow than DIM resin, but it isn't an impossibly bad difference. You'd be able to tell that the body and head were from different companies, but it wouldn't be "Whoa! That head and body are a terrible match!" XD I do believe a Volks SD10 body would be a good choice, since the DIM body is closer to SD10 size.

Customhouse, I think would be way too yellow (the Customhouse body I've seen IRL was very yellow.)

Dollmore might be a decent match for resin, but I'd be a bit concerned about how the head would fit the neck.

XD I think I might just cave.. and settle with the irks I have with the DIM body.. I think they'll annoy me less than a bad resin match..~_~ and I'm gonna have a slightly odd colour -anyway- as he's from the first batch XD lol... all my dolls are going to be akward.. I can feel it now.

The difference isn't as visible as the "arms and head" pic. The other pics are Danbi next to my Soom Gena's headcap. Maybe Soom's resin is a little bit paler and pinker, but that's not shocking at all in real, you have to put your nose on it to notice...
then, I don't know about the neck compatibility, as I don't feel brave enough to behead Gena now... :p

Does anybody know about the new larger Narae? Maybe in golden beige skin tone. I plan to order her anyway in the golden beige, so I guess I'll find out. If it works, I'll just have an extra head--not a big deal since you can order different types.

I don't agree about the SD10 body. My Danbi is on a DIM body and I have an SD13 boy and they are the same height. The DIM head is smaller but I think it would still look awkward on an sd10 body. The DIM bodies stand nicely and the only nitpick I have with them is the wrist s-hooks I am going to suede my wrist openings so the s-hooks don't scratch the resin. I'd go with the DIM body. Even if you get a good color match the necks on volks bodies are thicker and the Danbi head is very delicate looking. I tried switching heads but it just looked funny. You've seen my boys. I can't really see Shi-chan on a different body.

 

I'm hoping to hear a little more about this too, as i'll be getting the same head and just can't keep from turning up my nose at the DIM body. Just not for that character.


I've been thinking that the Obitsu might work, but dont't think i've seen a color match photo or any commentary between the two.

 

I wonder if the Iplehouse body would work at all, they seem rather pale to me...

 

Hmm that's a thought - but like with the Dollmore body I have a suspiscion that maybe Iplehouse neck is too big? ^-^

Old thread, I know... but I thought it'd be better to post here than start a new thread.

Does anyone know how well a Danbi head would fit to something like a Volks pureskin SD13? Both in colour match AND in the head actually fitting/looking ok?

 

OK, I'll answer my own question... I have a DIM Belita head on an old-style Custom House girl body, and it's an almost perfet match. Size and color look great together. The DIM resin in maybe a teensy bit pinker than the CH, but other than that, it's nearly perfect.

 

I have my two - Enubi and Belita on Rainman bodies. THe resin match is good - even though there is a slight difference between the two heads in colour. I tried my Danbi on the Volks SD13.. it looked odd and I didnt like the fit. I was wondering what the boy rainman body would look like with him. BUT in some pictures I have seen of the Wu and a Ryung/Soah etc together - the boy looks like he has darker resin - but that could just be the photos. If its darker than the girls body - I dont think it would be a good match. DIM is pale (I particularly like its colour)

 

I have my Dambi head on a Sd13 Pureskin Link body, is a perfect match.
