Doll Leaves 26cm Discussion

Chinese customs must be used to seeing doll boxes by now. they should just smile, shake their heads, and wave em on through. (I know they can't really, I'm just tired of waiting and I get all jittery when things are in transit) Maybe I'll get lucky and your package will be pushed through customs relatively swiftly and not held onto forever.

 

Yeah, but sadly it doesn't work that way or that smoothly when it comes to customs

 

Ugh customs -o-;
Sometimes you win and your stuff is out in a day or so.
Sometimes you lose and your stuff takes like...a week or more D8 aaaaaaaaaaaaack

Mathurin- That's a thought. I'm still figuring her out. I'm considering redoing her face again. Oddly, I really liked her with no faceup. I wonder how that would look with just lashes?

Does anyone have Dan in the dark tanned skin? I would love to see pictures, I'm thinking of getting him through MoC.


mmm....just got an email from DL telling me the dark tanned skin is limited but on MoC they are offering the color I've also seen that jeeryama from ebay is offering the same thing.

 

MoC has the tan skinned Dans? I thought that was a one time only event thing. They don't offer him on the main site anymore, I don't think. Must be a special promotional thing since MoC is a new dealer for them. I think the pics of the tan Dan are pretty awesome. I'd like to see him in owner pics, as well.

 

I think it was limited to what dolls were allowed to be ordered in it. Dan and Mortin being them.

 

oh ok. I knew that you could still order Mortin in Tan (well when Mortin was available, anyway), but tan Dan got put in their "one off" section. Maybe that's just with the special face-up? I dunno. I guess I never really looked at it cuz I wasn't interested so I didn't pay attention if you could still actually order him.

Edit: I just checked the site and it says Sold Out next to him.

Edit again: Oh ok I see. It's just the special face-up and fullset outfit that were one time only. I checked his basic area and you can still choose black. I just never looked before.

 

DS sent me another email and told me that they have contacted MoC and they took the option off the website. I knew it was to good to be true!

 

Aww that stinks. On DS's site it still says under basic Dan "add $40 for black skin". Ah well. Maybe you'll get lucky and can find him second hand. I'm not sure if I'd want a tan doll (or any different colored doll) cuz I like doing my own face-ups, but with an odd colored doll I'd be afraid of screwing up the color and ruining my doll.

 

The thing that was hard about the DS Tan is it was so dark and there was a really hazey matte color over anything blushed/faced because of the sealer

Yay for limited tans 8D Tan dolls are super nice, there's no need to be afraid of owning one ; A ;
It does lighten a bit with the sealer ; ; which kinda sucks. xD Less layers is the best way to do the face

Speaking of faceups, guess who FINALLY got theirs? I am SO happy with how they look now ^^

The DS Tan was more notorious that most for getting that milky hue when sealed.

 

Yay! Their jeans came out really good. And their face-ups look great. You can finally un blackout their pics in your sig. I bet they're both happy to have pants and not be blank anymore.

I see there was an eye change, too. Yulie used to have brown eyes. (edit: never mind, it was just the last pic you posted had the brown eyes but going further back I saw pics with the green ones) Where are those eyes from? Are they 14mm? The irises look a little smaller than the brown ones she had before. I just ordered eyes for Alicia cuz I found the prettiest green ones on Alice's Collection. I couldn't help myself. I just hope they fit well cuz I've noticed that the size of the iris will vary a little from one company to the next. I wouldn't be as worried if her eyes weren't so big. Guess I'll find out when everything comes in. From the pictures, the irises look smaller than their other 14mm eyes, but I really liked the color so I'm hoping they end up looking alright and don't make her look perpetually surprised cuz I'd be sad if I had to order new ones.

Yes, the old ones were hazel and grey glib acrylic eyes and their new eyes are a bright green/blue glass eyes. I bought them from Denver Doll here http://denverdoll.com/eyesbrilliantglass.php
The eye color they have is called Monet Sky and they are in 14mm. They look a little smaller because of the way I have the eyes positioned. I have them both pointed upward, so that the bottom of their eyes are white instead of the colored iris touching the bottom lid. Moving the eyes up helps Yulie not look like she's freaking out over something lol and it gives Pavel a nice sleepy look which I loooove for him
I also added eyelashes to the both of them, and that made a big difference in making their expressions softer and less "stare-y"

I should buy her lashes. Tovi looks so good with his. He came with them though (even though I had to trim them quite a bit cuz they were crazy long). I never see lashes I like on websites. They always look off to me. They're either too far apart or look all choppy. I want short, full, natural lashes not too much mascara/falsie look) I like Tovi's since I trimmed them cuz you don't even notice they're there, but they still add a little extra realism to his face, overall. I think I'm just too picky. I don't know what I'm gonna do about Alicia. I guess I'll decide when she gets here. I like Pavel's lashes. They're more my style.

Yeah lashes can be tough to find. If you can find fake bottom lashes for us, then those are good to use
The ones I used were doll lashes but they were WAY long lol I trimmed them about half way off xD

 

Haha well I don't mind trimming them down. I'll have to look around and see what I can find. Not online, though. I've been having the worst luck lately with websites getting all glitchy on me when I order stuff the past couple days. So she might have to go lashless for a bit if I can't find something suitable in an actual store. You would think that Hobby Lobby would have proper doll lashes in their doll section, but they just have yarn lashes. Maybe I can find a doll to harvest lashes from at good will or something. I'll have to look around and see what my options are.

 

Walmart sells eyelash segments for like 2.50 :> they're a good size for MSD/SD so a little trimmed and you should be fine
