Doll Leaves 26cm Discussion

I hope the clothes I ordered fit. I think they might. The skirt looks big and the dress is made of all stretchy materials. But I'm thinking the top that she was sent for Christmas is gonna be too small. It looks like it would fit a Barbie with just a little room to spare so I'm thinking it'll be too tight for Alicia. Guess I'll find out eventually, though. I hate ordering clothes cuz you can't try em on in advance. I wish I lived in Michigan near the MoC storefront, or someplace else with a BJD shop nearby. It's a bit limiting only being able to dress them in things I can make. I don't have much of an imagination when it comes to fashion designs.

Aww I love her default face-up. She looks so sad in that shot. Or maybe empathetic. Like "I'm sorry your girl isn't home yet." Ok I'm all super happy again. Plus it helps that silvermasques called the post office and they said if she doesn't turn up tomorrow they'll put out a search ticket on the package to find her. But silver said it almost always shows up on the fourth day, so I only have one more day to wait and then she'll be home. And she'll only have to put up with not having a face for one day instead of three. Well, as long as this fricken wind dies down on Sat.

I love her legs! They're so cute, I just wanna sit there bending her knees back and forth all day.
Oh and those couple of random long hairs in her bangs have been trimmed now so her wig looks perfect. Dunno what happened there. I'm guessing the bangs used to be longer and someone trimmed them and a couple stray hairs got missed. there were only like 4 or 5.

 

Face-up. I know one of the eyes isn't all the way in. I'll have to take that one out and fix it later. It was just being a pain so I left it.

She is adorable. That's the only reason she still has eyes. lol
That one eye refuses to sit all the way in the eye well, and now I was just trying to get a picture of her sitting at the edge of the bed cuz she looks adorable, but the flash keeps reflecting off one eye more than the other. And it's the same fricken eye that's giving me troubles. Can't wait til her new eyes come in. Hopefully they don't give me as much trouble. So yeah, as much as she's frustrating me today, she's lucky she's so adorable.

 

She's cute! Though it kind of looks like she wants me to give her something. She's got that why-aren't-you giving-me-anything look to her.

haha yeah she has a perpetual pout. I just noticed yesterday that the color didn't go over her whole lip and I think that's part of it. It makes her look like she's sticking her lip out. But that color was 3 or 4 different pastels combined and I doubt I'd be able to get it exactly again. Plus I'd have to take her eyes and lashed out again to respray her and I don't wanna. I'd probably just end up finding other things that frustrated me and redoing the whole thing and I REALLY don't wanna do that.

 

I glossed her lips and it looks a bit better now. It still bugs me that when I look closely I can see that her whole lip isn't colored and that's sorta all I notice now. The line is smooth, but it's just a little too far up on her bottom lip and makes it look swollen to me. I'll probably redo it in march when the weather is warm again. It finally got cold here just before she arrived. But her default eyes are giving me issues anyway. I think that one is set a little off center in the cone so that when I have it turned at the same angle as the other eye, the pupil is distorted and light reflects off it weird and it's just bugging the crap out of me. Can't wait til her green glass eyes arrive.

Anyone else have issues with their 26cm dolls not wanting to sit? Alicia always wants to topple backwards. I don't know if she has balancing issues or if all that hair is just making things difficult for her. I have to balance her the same way as I do my DZ deerboy with his antlers, by leaning her forward with her middle torso joint. She stands fine, though... Only when she's sitting does she wanna lean back on me all the time. Wondering if anyone else noticed it of if Alicia is just perpetually trying my patience and testing my love for her by being as difficult as possible.

Hmm I'm not sure. I thought she had nice tension in her strings. Not too loose and not too tight. I'm not used to her body design, though. Her legs stop once they're straight. They bend forward but not back at all and it was messing me up a little when I first took her out. I suppose it could be a stringing issue and my first impression was just a little off. It only seems to be her hips. That's where she leans back from. Or might be her thighs. Bah I'll get used to it. I've just been kinda depressed lately so I'm having trouble getting into her as much as I normally would. Once I'm feeling better and she has eyes that don't make me wanna kill things, I think I'll be able to get used to her posing a little better like I did with all my other dolls and their unique issues.

 

Takashi has real clothes now, finally made him some. He he.

I might start sewing Alicia's jacket, soon. I was playing Psychonauts but now I'm frustrated. XP I need something to kill time and calm me down.

 

My little bunny is missing her face again. It's been to wet outside to do a new one, but I truthfully sort of like her without anything.

I'm not certain exactly what you mean. I do have to pop her chest a bit forward for her to hold it, but nothing extreme. As you can see, it's not enough to make her lean forward. I think it would look a bit unnatural if her her back were completely straight with all of the joints in place.

I have Alicia sitting on an MSD sized rocking chair with her legs dangling over the edge, and if anything touches her she wants to fall back. Not so much lately. She's been being better behaved. I think she knows I was getting really frustrated with her. I'm DYING to get more pics of her but I want to wait for her eyes. Normally I wouldn't care THAT much, but as I've stated before I've been having trouble with one of her default eyes and no matter how many times I adjust it it's ever quite right so I gave up and am waiting slightly less patiently for her green eyes to come in.

Also, sorta funny thing. I was playing around with her and I thought one of her ankle ball joints were chipped because the one on the other side was round and this one had a little dip in it. I wasn't too worried cuz it didn't affect her movement, but I was taking a closer look anyway and I realized that it wasn't chipped... it was upside down. Not sure if I wanna pop her foot off and turn it the right way or let her remain my little reject (and I say that in the most loving way possible). None of my other DS dolls had a single thing 'wrong' with them, and Alicia is just full of surprises. She also has a bunch of tiny (like you can barely see them unless you look REALLY closely and under a white light) black specs on her face. I noticed em when I was doing her face-up. I noticed em after I put the base coat of sealer on so at first I thought some dust got on it or something, so I wiped it, but the little black marks didn't come off. It's weird. So between that, her upside down ankle joint, and her weird eye, she's gotta be my most unique doll at the moment.

 

If the black specs were under the base coat you'd not be able to just wipe it off unless you washed the head and scrubbed off the base sealer.

 

That's what I meant by wiped it. I got out the rubbing alcohol and wiped off the base coat I'd just put on. Like I said it doesn't really matter to me. You can't see them unless you look very closely and they don't show up in photos at all. That's why I didn't notice it til I was getting ready to do her face-up. I was looking closely at her then.
