Doll Leaves 60cm Boys Discussion

Well I know that Soom uses a lot of white washing when they take their pictures which gives them a more vibrant face up.

As said above I asked for a blank resin shot of the wheat and they sent me a comparison between the resins. i thought I would post it for everyone as well.


According to this his resin looks much darker then I expected. Hmmmm...

Hmmm... Or perhaps not I looked up Resinsouls' Tan and it's not that different. Just in person the tan of my Bobobie tends to pale out when standing by himself (looks more natural skin then tan darn those pale dolls XD).

The head for Evan is apparently going to be up soon.

Haha, I agree. To be honest I was rather uninterested in DL till I saw their recent releases and especially this Evan character.

 

Pff. All these awesome new boys and my poor Jiang still has no face or his proper eyes... he's so neglected.

OOOH! If they're going to be releasing him as just a head that is much more convenient. I don't know, the body just looks a little off to me in the parts images, not my thing. If they are releasing him as just a head, what Resins does DL match?

 

Well the Heads will probably only be in Normal and White

I know older Dream of Doll Normal matches DS normal. It also matches Dollzone NS-pink..

 

Thanks. If it's just a lighter version of what he already has then I can live with that until I can figure out his style.

 

Cloudedmind: I think I would describe the DL faceups as being "similar" in real life vs. company photos, or at least that's what I would say about my DL Sisley, also, you can compare the DL company photos for Noir and the photo put on the page 8, post #155 on this thread:

I am getting Evan myself, in the wheat skin though. I've already got a good handful of Normal babies and white ones from DS

 

I cant decide between normal or Wheat skin, the wheat skin is just lovely! and it would be my first tan, but I think he would be just as lovely normal skin. Plus im thinking of doing an eye open mod on him, so maybe no touching the limited? I'm just not sure hey ^^;;

Plus I'm not sure what sort of characte rI have that would fit him

 

I'll most likely be getting Evan sometime after July. I have other things I need to save up for first.

My MAIN issue with getting Evan is the fact that I shouldn't be buying a new doll right now and to top it off he isn't even close to being on my wishlist. These darn limiteds screw everything up XD. I have a moderate wishlist then a limited comes out and that wishlist gets ignored once more.

I'm suppose to be saving up for ACEN... Well if I get him at least I'll know not to buy a doll at the convention which I was thinking about doing if a dealer brought what I wanted (but I found out that the doll that I wanted isn't the resin I wanted so in the end it probably wasn't going to happen). AHHH!

Did I mention I hate limiteds?

I also need to figure out if I want to get him with a faceup or not. Also I don't have money to clothe him since I have dolls that I still don't have clothed.

On the subject of Faceups does anyone know why the dark tan Mortin has such a 'silvery' faceup? Was it a sealing issue or was it a aesthetic thing?

Also i flat out didn't look but does DL come with eyes or no?

 

I think DL (though I think they call themselves DS, that's how Edendoll referred to Doll Leaves when I ordered from them, maybe to differentiate them from Doll Love?) do come with eyes.

My Noir came with a nice pair of high-domed acrylic eyes. Too bad they don't really sit too well in his eye wells. But I think it's just a problem with his mould rather than the eyes themselves. It is rather hard to position his eyes...

 

Yes, Doll Leaves uses the abbreviation DS it's even on the headcaps Namika and you're exactly right :>

Part of the problem with the dark dark tan DS had was the sealer really discolored the head. made everything look milky. The Newer tan is better though Not as changed with sealer.

You could try and clean up the eye wells with a beveler? :>

 

Ah, I see about the DS thing I was really confused about that and thought it was a completely different subject, my mistake.

These abbreviations are going to drive me insane one day.

I can't wait to see your Evan, silvermasques!!! is an extremely cute boy! is a shame I can't afford him right now but oh well, that's not gonna stop me from admiring other people's Evan's lol.

 

I keep calling him "Ivan" rather than Evan... >>;;; Maybe that's what he wants his name to be?

 

Does anyone know if Doll Leaves normal skin matches Dollmore normal skin? I want to get my Noir (not here yet) a pair of hands.

 

My Noir arrived today and it's a cutie! I'm going to give him a face up today or tomorrow.

I love the body too, although it is shorter than I expected. Maybe the height is 60cm just because the head is too big, because with other heads it size is 58~59cm xD

and the resin seems to me similar to Luts-delf resin (peach-pink). I wanted to use the body for another head but it doesn't match at all with pale or yellow tone resins.
