Doll Leaves 60cm Boys Discussion

Oh wow, it's good to see the Noir love up in here. !

My Noir was actually the first BJD to arrive(even though the first one I paid for would arrive close to a week later after a six month wait, lol). The Noir came first because I got him from JunkySpot. Anyway!



...Every time I look at this picture, I notice his cuff is upturned and it bugs me. >.>;;;;

But yes. That's my Mikael. I need to take more pictures of him. And to try to find him a good prop violin and piano.

I really wish I knew of a way to keep his ears from falling off all the time, but I'm afraid to do anything too permanent since it's probably better to have them removable when I need to transport him.

Has anyone come up with a fix for the ears?

 

Perhaps a bit of eye putty would help behind the ears? I haven't had a lot of problems with the ears on my guy but it might be because i don't move him around a lot.

 

Awwww... loving the Noir! Well, if you think his ears are bad, try the Evan. You just look at Evan's ears and they fall out, lol. I've contemplated putting in a stronger magnet, but haven't done it yet. I'm kinda stumped there.

 

Lol, that really makes me thankful I didn't order an Evan; I actually was eyeing one awhile back.

I might have to try the eye-putty thing, see if that works. Very much looking forward to hearing if anyone else has worked out solutions, though. It always scares me when I have to move Mikael for something and suddenly notice that one of his ears fell off again. XD;

 

Ahh right now I'm seriously considering to get Evan. There is something about his lips blush that isn't exactly to my liking though :/ I kinda prefer the more full lips faceup they gave to the wheat skin version OTL I don't know how to put this but I actually like how soft his expression. Its just the lips I am having problem with but after going through this thread I'm having doubts about the relying on the official photos on how he'd turn out. My favourite face-up artist charge an amount that I feel is a bit too much for a doll of this price...(I don't even know why I feel this way) Okay I don't know what to feel anymore D: and there's that floating head I need to get the body for ($480 for just his body from the company he came from...)

Sorry if this has been answered before, but does anyone know how the Doll Leaves NS compares to Fairyland NS??

 

Hi! So right now I'm waiting on an SD Doll Leaves Noir to come in that I bought in the marketplace, and I was wondering if anyone had advice on how I should dress him? Like, how similar in size is he going to compared to an SD Dollzone? Because I love those outfits.

Or are there any good places to buy clothes from that I haven't been able to find? What size wig will he wear? I'm so lost...

I've only had MSD dollies before, so this is a huge change...

From my experience, most clothes in the SD range fit alot of dolls. Of course, some can be a bit small/tight/loose/big. So, I try to compare measurements of dolls I'm buying clothes for and the dolls of the company that makes the clothes. Also, talking with people who own dolls of the same size and brand can give you advice on what would fit and what to avoid. For wigs, the measurements I found say they have a 24cm head, so 9/10 wigs(or bigger 8/9).

There are lots of shops that sell doll clothes, there is also ebay, etsy, and the marketplace here on DoA.

Mazoku Well I found he used to fit really nicely into the 8-9 sizes of j-pop wigs(stretchy!). He's pretty comfortable a size '9' so smaller 9-10's are good and 8/9 out of all the ones I have from my SD crew fit him pretty well. I've never put him into anything that wasn't hand-sewn for that body type. ( Our Wheat skinned Evan stole his things a couple months back ) and even the newer thinner body fit into them pretty well. My original patterns were off of a Doll In Mind Memory boy body. ^^; So they can share well with other company clothes.

How I had him -> with his sister who is my Aurora both in J-pop wigs

I am actually going to an anime convention next Thursday (Tekkoshocon) and I am going to try to sew him something to wear really quickly so I can introduce him to my friends :-) And this way i will be able to make sure he has clothes that fit him!

So I got my Noir right before Easter, which was awesome, and i made him a tiny outfit in preparation! It's my first attempt at bjd clothing, so i'm pretty happy with how they turned out. Noir is awesome looking and i can't wait to try to figure out a name for him (and a wig is also coming!)

 

Hey all. I've got a question on the Doll Leaves boy body. I've got the 60 CM girl (Aurora) and the top joint of her torso likes to slip and slide and not stay put. No amount of restringing or hot glue is helping. I've had several people look at the construction and say that her torso really needs to be modded. Is this a problem with the boys as well? Do you have trouble posing him and getting the pose to stay? I've got no problems with this in my 45cm girl from them and I want to order one of the boys, but I don't want this kind of aggravation again.

 

I haven't ever had problems with my aurora, or my boss when I had them.

 

I was wondering if anyone knows if the arms on the new 60cm boy body would work on the old 60cm boy body? The elbow joint is at an awkward position to me.

I keep calling him 'Neanderthal arms'...

Yes he is - but He's a hybrid.
I didn't like Doll Leaves body because I think that it's to fragile for the big head so I bought him an AOD body

 

Would the Noir head work on their 70cm body? I love the look of that one so much more than the 60cm, but I don't want him to look like he has a tiny head!

 

I Think that it could work because for my observation - Doll Leaves heads are really big.
My boy is on a larger than stock body (but still SD - i just like him that way) and the head is still big for me....
My boy is Evan but as I was seeing before the sizes of Noir and Evan head are similar so...
