She fits all my nine9 msd clothing that has been too big for everyone else.

 

@Angelfey Heh, it's okay, I'm in the same boat Cx I've got a friend I'm commissioning to do a faceup for one of my boys, and her work is so beautiful. But I plan on working on my doll leaves Kira boy myself, and I'm so intimidate I'm procrastinating.
: D just practice lots and try anything and everything! eventually you'll get there!

Nice! My Hedy will be coming with the company face-up too! Although yours looks darker than the one on their website-perhaps my eyes are playing tricks on me because of her dark wig as opposed to the blonde?

Yeah the lighting makes it look a little dark along with the wig. She is beautiful. I've been trying that Dollzone black wig on every Doll I get and it finally suits someone. It annoys me that For My Doll don't do proper black wigs.

 

My doll leaves Jeremy and Ida have been held hostage by UK customs for a week now hopefully their ransom letter will come through soon.... in the mean time can I get some Jeremy and Ida spam?

@Lettitude Gratulation on your wonderful Jeremy, I really love his sculpt and I am seriously tempted to get the head, since I already have a body (that is currently occupied by the Wish head) . I also really like the faceup you gave him - really natural and I just adore the freckles !

Has anyone tried modding a Doll Leaves girl to sit better? I think the problem is that the channels in the thighs are too short, but I would like someone else's opinion before I mess anything up...

 

@RockingHorseSoul I wouldn't know for the girl body, but the boy body came really tightly strung at that was the problem for me.

 

@Milenn - thank you! I received my Ida and Jeremy yesterday! I adore Ida and I'm very happy with her... except inside her mouth looks dirty? So tiny bit disappointed by the face up quality... it's hardly noticeable so it's okay... also I bought her as a full set... but there were no shoes? Is that normal for doll leaves?

As for Jeremy. ... super underwhelmed. His face just looks oddly puffy and swollen unless you have his ears covered and the sides of his face. .. :/ I'm really not sure if I'll be keeping him... I've bought some new clothes & a wig off eBay. .. so I'm hoping a restyle will help me bond with him... but he too had quite a sloppy face up. . Like the blushing on his nose was streaky and didn't blend at all... I may end up redoing it... but that's a last resort option for me...

Have you or anyone else had these problems before?

 

@helenb92 Oh my i am so sorry to hear you did not like Jeremy! So far most of the pics I saw of him were official company fotos and in those he looks so pretty, which is why I was considering getting his head. Any chance you can post some photos of your Jeremy? It's a bit odd too that Ida had no shoes ! Usually with other companies I have seen they're included in full-sets, did you double check the store you bought her from and if they listed shoes as part of the full-set? Because if they did, maybe it was a mistake on the vendors part? For some odd reason I can't open the official doll leaves website right now to check, just times out for me xD ...

I got my Wish without a face up (did not like the default faceup of him) and no clothes etc so I can't say much about their face up quality or the full-set parts >.< . I'd be also interested in some Ida owner-pics, as I really liked her face too and was considering getting a DL girl. How do you like her posing so far? I feel the double jointed torso of my wish is a bit pointless, as he tends to swivel around and afaik there is no locking mechanism to keep the upper torso area in place OTL .

P.s. I just noticed that I can't even see Ida's shoes on the official company photos (at least not the ones on Alice's Collections)? That is a bit weird and makes me think, maybe the outfit simply does not have shoes oO ?

 

@RockingHorseSoul I've just checked how my girl body sits, I guess the advice to loosen her elastic is the right one. I keep my dolls in a sitting position on their diorama-shelf, so the elastic loosens a bit over time on itself. It's like the same with keeping dolls in fetus position if too tightly strung. Now my girl keeps both the position, where she's leaning a bit backwards, and the one where she sits completely straight, on her own with no extra effort.

@helenb92 I have the same problem with Ida's faceup, the dirty look in the corners of her mouth really freaked me out when I just got her. But then I got used to her and decided to leave it be till I get an urge to redo her faceup completely one day. And judging from the promo-photos, there are no shoes in her fullset. All I can see in the pics are just the stockings and no shoes.
As for Jeremy, I was excited to see his fullset promos, but then I've looked at his blank head and was kinda disappointed. These photos are available on company's homepage. I get a feeling his jaws are set too low, the cheeks are too chubby and I don't really like how the lower part of his face is sculpted overall. But that's just my humble opinion.
As for chubby cheeks, I think it's the style of their current sculptor. I'm not really tracking the info on the sculptors they have, but I definitely see about three different styles in their minis, and all the resent releases have one common and very distinct style to them. It took me a long while to get used to Ida too, because the chubbiness of her cheeks and how her mouth is sculpted was bothering me a lot. Is still, but I got used to it and now see some more potential both in the sculpt and the body. Have to admit it was a bit of a spontaneous purchase on my part, ordered Ida as soon as she was released.

 

@helenb92 I think it may be a matter of taste - I found his face to be very cute for what I had in mind. It is just a different style - younger, probably, more child/toddler like. I love his sculpt, but I can see why some wouldn't.

 

@Milenn - I fell in love with the company photos of Jeremy... he looks gorgeous in the photos but face to face... something just seems off? I ordered directly from doll leaves and from what I can tell it just had "with outfit" and "with wig" it didn't specify shoes but I was hoping they would be inculled along with the outfit part..? I noticed that in the promo photos of Ida that they didn't show any shoes either :/

I will take a few photos of both dolls later today when I have better lighting, so you can see what I mean about the face ups not being 100%...

As for Idas posing I agree with you that the bust torso joint is a little redundant... maybe suading (excuse my spelling >.<) would help it?
Apart from that she has great arm+ leg mobility and nice range of head movement. I'm hardly an expert however but il try take some posing photos with her later on

@Riin - well at least I'm not the only one with a dodgy face up? :/ I don't think the dirty mouth is too noticeable unless you know to look for it..? But il probably leave it be for now
I did the same for Jeremy, puchased him very soon after he was released... so it was only after that I saw the blank head... I didn't like it but I told myself to not to judge until I had seen him in person... which hasn't gone well... generally I don't mind chubby cheeks... but Jeremy's face is just so bottom heavy..? But that's just my opinion..? It doesn't look so bad in photos..?

@Lettitude - I think I just had certain expectations from the promo photos which I absolutely adored. I'm hoping his restyle will help...

Here is a link to photos of Ida and Jeremy, there are quiet a few... I was pretty surprised with some of the poses I managed to achieve... definitely less bust mobility in the female body that the male body...
Hopefully you will be able to see what I mean y the face up issues....

@helenb92 yep, your Ida's face up looks pretty much the same as mine.
Your pics of Jeremy just keep on proving my first impression. The jaws are set too low for my taste, just measuring the eyes to nose and lips distance, so it makes the lower part of his face seem heavy. He's a nice sculpt overall actually and he looks nice together with Ida, but those are some minor details that don't make him my favorite at the moment. Who knows, my opinion might change over time.

BTW, has anyone got or seen any home photos of Oscar? Also a new face, so would be interesting to see what he's all about.
