@Riin yeah same opinion here in regards to jeremys head ratio being off... ah well hopefully his new wig and clothes will help balance him out a bit..?

I'd love to see Oscar too as he was a strong contestant before I chose Jeremy... it was either 2 MSDs or Asa from their 70cm line... but the size scared me off...

@Jeremy: What's that funky pink in the corner of his eyes ? I really like his lips, but there is something odd going on with his nose - like the pastels aren't distributed evenly ?

I really like his face from every perspective, except side-ways - his nose seems rather prominent, but i guess that can be chalked up to "matter of taste"

I have to say though they both seem to be great posers! I technically have the same boy body as you, but somehow I don't think mine could pull of those poses xD ... The upper torso joint just does not wanna lock in place. Also does DL still have the issue with the index finger being longer than the middle finger? My Wish has this on his hands and it really annoys me .

@Ida: I noticed the dirt in the corners of her mouth as well - probably excess pastels? Usually this happens to me, if I still have a darker pastel color on my brush and then dab it into something lighter and apply it to the doll. Ida also has this extreme pink around her eyes oO - or is it just the camera that amplifies it? I have to say the eyebrows are very beautiful and delicate though !

@Milenn - thank you for having a look

I dont think it helped that they gave jeremy green eyes, making the bright pink around his tear ducts and water line stand out ridiculously... so hence the pale pink eyes... as they were the only ones I has around... im thinking of adding another layer of MSC to try blend in the streaky nose and darken the pink a little... the eye shadow and brows are fine by me...Jeremy's hands have the same problem with the disproportionate fingers.. particularly on the left hand...
Those poses took a lot of maneuvering, I was actually surprised at what he could do... but it did take a whole lot of time and balancing...

I realise the lighting was far from fantastic but the pink is pretty vibrant, it does appear that they must have been a bit lazy in regards to cleaning their brushes, I tried to brush it out but no luck, im sure its stuck to the sealant... and yes! Her eye brows are gorgeous so thin and detailed, with plenty expression.

Il post some more pictures once my ebay order arrives with his new look, here's hoping it works out!

 

@helenb92 I really appreciate you taking the time to take those pics !! I haven't really seen a BJD with a company faceup as close as in your pictures, as so far all my dolls came blank - so seeing how detailed they are is really amazing and gives me a lot to work on in regard to my own faceups !! As for the hands: I checked out some hands today - I think it was from Doll Legend? Their hands are like $20 so I am tempted to buy a set for Wish, but I am not sure if they'll fit... The widest part of the ball the hands sit on is 1.3cm (wrist diameter) and I just realized I posted the measurements in this thread here and based on those the hands should actually fit Wish !! I'd definitely like them better than his current hands, though I'll check around to see, if there are alternatives. I have decided to not get him jointed hands though - 1/4 jointed hands would probably drive me nuts - so small xD .

I wish you all the best for fixing Jeremys nose, I think it should work the way you suggested it ! And I am really curious to see his new look ! And honestly - I think he will grow on you ! At first I felt I really wanted to swap out Wish's head, but after working on him and re-doing his face up a couple of times, getting new clothes etc I now really, really like him, he has really grown on me and I think for a large part it is, because I worked so much on him and spent so much time with him .

 

Congrats on your new dollies @helenb92 ! Jeremy's face is lovely, but I agree, from the side, it looks like he's told one too many lies... But in your pictures, he looks really adorable, and I'm considering getting him too...

@Milenn I remember someone posting a picture of a Doll Leaves girl with DollZone hands. I think it was a nice match both size and colour-wise. Not sure if it'll work for the boys too.

What do you guys think of the new girl, Nina? To me, she... looks like Jeremy and Amara had a child. Not too sure how to feel about it.

 

@RockingHorseSoul as I've already told before, they do have a very distinct style for their newest dolls. And that's a point about her being a child of Jeremy and Amara, I sure can see the resemblance. Nina is cute in her own way, but I won't make my final opinion until I see some owner photos, I guess. Not a big fan of open mouths though. They look somewhat silly to me. She reminded me of Oscar and Hedy right away, they have the same expression.

 

@RockingHorseSoul Oooh wow Dollzone hands would be awesome, thank you so much for the tip !! I actually have a Dollzone MSD Boy (Freddy), he is white skin (and Wish is normal skin), but I could check out if it works size-wise ! Though Freddys hands are really dainty, I think they may look almost too fragile on Doll Leaves Wish, but it's definitely worth a try! If I am not mistaken Doll Leaves girls/boys have the same hands? Though I am not sure about it ... @helenb92 could you shed some light on whether DL girls/boys (MSD) have the same hands? That'd be awesome !

 

@Milenn DL boys and girls do NOT have the same hands. The girl hands are much more dainty. The extra hands (curled fingers) that DL sells are boy hands too.. so sadly my Ida whom I bought the extra hands for in WS wont be able to use them... on the other hand if anyone wants an extra set for thier boy in WS let me know I can take comparison photos this evening if you think that would help?

 

@helenb92 Oooh thank you for clearing this up (girl/boy hands) ! Comparison photos would actually be awesome ! I wonder if a boy could wear the girl hands? I am guessing the girl ball/wrist circumference is smaller? I definitely want different hands for Wish, but I need to find some middle ground between more defined but not too fragile looking or it won't suit him xD. I think so far Doll Legend is an option hand-wise. I'll try to gather up the courage to switch hands from Dollzone to Doll Leaves to see how it looks and I'll post a picture here if I am successful .

 

Asenva does a comparison of the boy and girl hands in her Gabriel review, around the 7min mark.

Although I can't tell if the wrist ball is actually smaller on the girl arm, or is it just an optical illusion o.e

 

@Milenn & @RockingHorseSoul - yep Asenva did a pretty in depth review and I belive she shows the hand size difference. I tried the extra hands on Ida and the wrist joint is defiantly smaller on the girl body. Not by much but I would say it is noticeable..? I try get some pics up either today or Wednesday as it getting late in the UK... the only other dolls I have are fairyland ones so il take photos of them in the comparison picture too

 

Has anyone seen the new female bodies yet from Doll Leaves? I'm pretty excited for them they look really good!

I like that they dropped the second torso joint and have knee and elbow caps again, really nice aesthetics too!

 

Are those new hands I see?

If ever one of you guys get one, I would like to see a side-to-side comparison with the old body please~

 

@Milenn I am tempted too! I have a Dollzone female body coming in so it would be interesting to see a side by side.

 

Aw man! I would have loved to get the new body for Ida! It looks so much more feminine... dang it.

 

@helenb92 I could say you are reading my mind on that. I'd at least would love to have those hands, I'm a sucker for cute hands and feet.

 

I just saw the new body on facebook and I am impressed!! Hands still need work tho

 

@Riin I am kicking myself over my DL order in more ways than one. Dam my impatience! The new body looks so much more refined and dainty in comparison to the old body... sigh...

 

@helenb92 I feel you >.< ! On the upside though, DL has very reasonable prices, so selling the old one and getting the new one is actually an option .

@itzreeseybetch I agree regarding the hands - but it is a step forward - I wonder if they'll release a new boy body too with improved hands...
