ahh thanks!! Spiritdoll NS is about an 85% match to doll leaves. Its opaque but the tan is translucent so I wouldn't recommend a tan hybrid. It's a slightly different texture than doll leaves but on a camera you can't tell the difference.

 

I'm so loving all of these Doll Leaves! Amara was the very first doll I fell in love with. Hopefully soon I'll be able to take one home. All of your dolls are beautiful

Hope you can take one home. My DL Lilith is such a sweet, fairy-like girl, and very easy to take out with me in my handbag or car, in case I see an opportunity for a photo op or other time together. She has stayed so well-strung from the factory, too, going on three years.

 

Hey everyone! I've been catching up on this thread and you all have such lovely dolls! It's been awhile since I've really immersed myself in the 1/4 size and I'm really inspired by everyone's photos! I have a floating Amara head at home and I'm just waiting on her body to arrive to share her (hopefully soon)

I've been thinking of getting my Doll Leaves boy a new set of hands. I'm not really much of a fan of the default hands, and even though I did buy him the second pair that Doll Leaves offers, I'd also like to get him another that are a little more relaxed and natural. I really like the look of the Angell Studio hands, but I don't know if the size and resin match will work. Any suggestions?

 

I don't know about NS but I know that dollzone white matches decently well. When I had a doll leaves girl body ( old style ) I swapped her hands for dollzone hands.

 

Does anyone know what their wait time is like right now?

 

I REALLY want a Jeremy. I really want the default faceup. But the ones I'm seeing at home don't look anything like the faceup in the product photos. I know it's a small thing but that always irks me.

I'm a little late on this but a couple weeks ago was my Lydia's 4th birthday! I'll have to get her all dressed up and take some pics. Al of my dolls have been naked and headless for so long now xD I'm a bad doll mom

I ordered a few yrs ago now, but while my Amara's faceup may not be exactly like the promo pics, it is the best faceup of all my dolls. So perfectly detailed.

With regard to default faceups, I thought my DL Lilith's faceup did look like the one of the website. I love her beauty mark.

Ooh, I'm so excited! My Loongsoul body had shipped! I know this is the Doll leaves discussion thread, but I'm posting it here because the body is for my floating Amara head!

The body is in tan and my Amara is in NS, so I have plans to dye her to match. I'm still terrified of screwing it up, but as I have a lot of dolls that actually need to be dyed, I figure Amara is probably the safest one to start with as she's not a LE or particularly expensive. Not that I want to mess her up, but it's still a sort of nice safety net.

I can't wait to show her all put together! Gosh, I hope this hybrid works

 

I'm in a similar situation to you, InkyBear! I'd also like to modify my Doll Leaves Dora, I'm thinking of trying a breast reduction on her. I'm having some trouble with sewing clothes for her because the style of clothing I like to make doesn't form so well to a larger chest. She's my first doll tho so I bought her somewhat impulsively and didn't think into the future of sewing and measurements so much lol

But I feel the same way as you, I'd like to start learning about modifying and I felt that a (relatively) inexpensive body like Doll Leaves was a good place to start. Even though I'm scared because she is my first doll and I love her, I want to make her even better!

and I can't wait to see the results of your hybriding and dying! I think it's one of the coolest mods you can do and with the limited resin colors DL offers, it'll be so awesome to see your Amara in a tan skin!!

 

I know this was mentioned just a few pages back, but a reminder that DS does offer 2 tan shades: sun-tanned and wheat. Not sure if they'll only cast full dolls in these or parts too. I'm personally waiting on an even bigger bust to reorder Amara in Wheat. :P

 

Hey guys! I've been in love with Doll Leaves dolls for some years now and have finally decided to take the plunge and get one of my dream dolls next month: A Gabriel in white skin! Now I'm a little concerned about their resin's stability, can you nice people with white skinned dolls please tell me if they have yellowed a lot over the years? I'm not really bothered by yellowing usually but I can not stand the greenish tint most white resins get over time. I hope this is not the case with Doll Leaves.
Unlike most people here I'm not bothered by the old body's hands, in fact I love them, they remind me of my Shinydoll's awkward hands. At first I couldn't decide which body to get, the old one or the new one, but I think I will order the old one because of the hands and of the added hip joint. The new body doesn't seem to be able to slouch at all, which is a trend I don't particularly like. It is a very pretty body, though.
Anyway, I hope you can help me decide on the skin colour and if anyone has a Gabriel: please show pictures of your girls/boys!

 

@Zomboid I had a white skin doll leaves doll, It was a couple years old. I don't think it had any green tint and had more of a mellow color.
