1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Doll Nudity Warnings - Why?

Jun 20, 2008

    1. I like the warnings as naked dolls make me kind of embrassed to be honest...heh

    2. Ha! My overlords would not approve either. lol!

Seriously though, I agree with the general response of this thread. It's not really the fear of offending someone, but to protect them or others around them. Such as bosses, small children, or parents. There are just some situations where one doesn't want to have a realistic nude doll on their PC screen. ;)

I often do this, mostly because I am trying to compare the bodies of dolls I am not familiar with to the MiniFee I plan on ordering. I still want to be sure I'm not missing anything I would like better.

    3. Doll nudity and doll nudity warnings are ok by me. I think they are a polite way of saying "Do not watch this if you are disturbed, for any reason, by doll nudity". For me nudity, besides the fact it is basic for a comparison, does not mean porn always and necessaryly, but I also think there may be as many different ways of seeing doll nudity as people who might watch it. Because of that, in my opinion better giving advice than not giving it thinking specially about those who do not want/like watching it or those who want to avoid other people around may watch it. Personally, I do not feel the need to know about every personal reason to believe I must respect it.

    4. As stated before... I think its mostly because people check these forums from work or school.

I always mark my threads with nudity in them because I don't want some poor hobbiest to have their boss walk by while they're looking at my girl topless and have their boss freak out on them!

    5. As long as dolls are naked for artistic means, I am not offended by it at all. I don't need a warning for art, as I don't see why a
picture of a naked doll would be that much different from a painting of a naked man or woman in a museum. And there aren't
nudity-warnings in a museum either, right?
Artistic nudity is just as much a part of this hobby as clothed dolls are.

Then again, as stated before, I can understand why people do want those warnings. When you're using a public computer or
when you're at school/a libary/work, I can understand you don't want people to think you're some kind of perv looking at
pictures from naked people. Because really, BJD's are so realistic they can look like humans to someone who's just walking by
and looking at your screen quickly.
Or when people have little children running about the house while they're looking at pictures and for the younger members of
      the forums itself.

Ofcourse when it's meant as doll 'porn' I'd be offended. But that's just because that's bad behaviour and disrespect towards the
      dolls.

    6. Definitely for work/school. Anyone would be embarrassed to have a boss or teacher notice and think they're looking up inappropriate things. Some dolls don't look like dolls at a glance! I used to make sure to avoid those threads around family, but they're aware of the hobby now and don't seem to mind. My brother has walked by my laptop several times with random doll body parts on the screen, haha! I like that people are comfortable enough to share their photos, yet considerate enough to label them properly. There are many doll-owners out there who prefer not to see the naked sculpts at all - in an artistic way or not.

    7. My boyfriend doesn't get it either, but sometimes I see fullout doll porn (for as far as that's possible) on here and other forums, and yeah, I'd like a warning. I'm not into things like that, and I can imagine that if I were at school or something it would be even worse.
