Doll Plans 2017!

I got my first Obitsu SD vinyl dolls end of last year and have been inspired to add more this year! So maybe around summer I will get a boy and girl 40cm pair. Right now I'm waiting on two resin dolls I ordered last summer, so I will focus on them when they arrive. I think this year I will finish what I have, and spend more time on a different hobby.

 

I feel like my list is way, way, way too ambitious, but:
Buy 2 dolls (possibly 3)
Heavily mod 1 doll (dyeing, carving, and sculpting)
Sculpt my own small bjd character
Learn mold making/ resin casting (I really need to be better at it, especially complicated molds)
Create a room box or digitally paint my own background
sculpt accessories/ scenery props
Sew some dolls clothes/ make some wigs
Finally and only slightly related to bjds, I want to finish the comic that inspired the dolls.

 

Well my first order of business is to enter the Volks DearSD webstore lottery in March! SO excited for that!
I'm also planning to attend Volks Dolpa LA in September. If I don't end up getting a doll in the March lottery, I'll probably put away that money for Dolpa and see if I can get a doll there.
Another plan is to sell or trade away a couple of dolls (one is mine, the other is my mom's). I got some paperclay so I'm hoping to practice sculpting, probably just a head for now and see how it goes. I also want to make a home/diorama for my dolls but I'm not sure that will happen this year.
I'm hoping to get an SD10 or 13 (haven't decided) girl body with the new double jointed arms, for my floating Shiratori head.
Then there are a few characters I want to shell specifically... only one of them has a confirmed sculpt picked out for him though.
Kirill, who was previously a tan Youpla Dolls Zopa I'm selling on layaway, will be a tan Fairyland MNF Woosoo VE A-line boy (what a mouthful).
Volka, who was previously a peach-gold Iplehouse JID Kyle, I have two ideas for. My ideal would be a sunlight skin Volks SDMidi F16, but I'm not sure if that sculpt is offered in the USA FCS ever? If anyone has ever seen it offered in the past let me know. I'd like to hope it's a possibility. My other idea for him is a brown Luts KDF Duri head on an MDF body, but I'm pretty iffy about that choice.
Last one is Erik, who I've had trouble with for a while. Initially I wanted him to be a brown Luts Delf boy, but my favorite sculpt for him was SDF Winter 15, which only came in normal or white so I'd have to airbrush him to match a brown body. I'm now leaning towards a few different options including a Volks SD boy in sunlight. Not sure right now...
I guess one more thing would be to draw my dolls/characters more often, and to write some their stories.

 

My main goal this year is to finish the aesthetics on the DollZone Merlin I ordered at the end of 2016! I would like to do his faceup and body blushing mysel, and pick up sewing again so I can make a fair bit of his clothing as well. Secondary goals would be adding a girl to the resin crew or maybe picking up a Soom MD/DollZone Cindy secondhand!

 

I'm trying to get back into the hobby. I'm kinda inactive, just buying dolls here and there but not doing anything to them at all. I have 3 on layaway and I'm waiting for Dollzone Mo on the single-jointed body. Well that's that and on to the Doll Plans 2017.

1. Finish Layaways.
2. Buy Wigs and Eyes.
3. Buy more clothes.
4. Buy Souldoll Joelle D.
5. Take pictures!
6. If funds permits a Resinsoul Song.
7. Get bodies for 3 of my floating heads, 2 Popodoll 68CM Male Body and a Spiritdoll 66cm Female Body.

I like making plans, sticking to them is the challenge.

 

I would love to be able to give my dolls face-ups this year and also learn how to do a face-up. And also finally begin giving my newest doll some personality. I was super excited to get him but I just haven't been able to get him what he needs.

 

This year, I plan on getting a doll in every size range. I have a YOSD, a MSD, and I'm waiting for a Tiny BJD to come in the mail now. Next month a Pet BJD should come in and eventually I plan on getting a SD one too. I hope that at some point this year I will get the last size of a Micro BJD. Then, I should hopefully know what size is my favorite size to get.

 

This year I want to find a more permanent style of clothes for my two elven boys. Have my doll family H boy Damiens face up fixed, and finish his details. My Islanddoll Lilith also needs clothes more fitting to her style that she has decided she wants. Then i also need to be patient and wait for a few dolly things including a body for my floating head in the mail.

 

I will hopefully get a Little Monica Sophia one day! And Lucywen is on her way to me in 4-ish months

 

I plan to give my Doll Chateau Bella a long-overdue face-up and hopefully purchase an SD boy to be the elder brother of two of my existing dolls.

 

I have just decided to purchase my first dolly!! So I have lots to do since I'm starting out with a blank dolly. After starting at the sculpt for a couple of weeks, I have decided the direction I am going with the dolly that's going to arrive first (LM Bear). Shy & girly, Lots of pastels & florals prints for the clothing & dresses all the way~~

I'm still trying to figure out other things like hair color & eye color and need to figure out if I want to blush the body or not, but yess, SOOOO EXCITED!!!.

I also have another dolly coming, but I'm not sure what she's going to be like yet. I was thinking of more of a tom boy look, but she has these amazing cat eyes (Luts ANI with MDF body) and looks far too cute for that. I think she's going to be my bossy, spoilt little princess so lots of darker reds, rich colors & fancy gowns for her (maybe, not sure yet :P)

I can't wait for my dollys to arrive!!

 

I would love to get a Dollfie Dream Mini this year. I have an idea in mind, but have to find the right one for sale. I want to make her into a super kawaii little girl.

 

Lets see my dolls plans for 2017 include:
- All my girls with proper faceup
- Restablish some of my dolls styles (upgrade)
- More photoshoots
- Practice stop motion
- Chatacter/Story development

Basically I want to get all my current dolls figured out this year.
And be more active in the community again.
Then think about getting a new one. Haha.

Doll plans 2017:

• Place an order with Fairyland during their next event
• Commission faceups for the new FL dolls
• Commission faceups for Ryousuke and Noelle (May be delayed till next year)
• Purchase/commission a new suit for Tsurayuki (Dream of Doll Lahoo)
• Finally decide on a hairstyle and commission a wig for Tsurayuki
• Purchase more shoes for the girls
• Do a photoshoot with Ren and Noelle in their new outfits

In progress

• Commission a faceup for Nimphaerytales Quimera head
• Buy a body for above-mentioned head
• Order a custom wig for Ryousuke (Musedoll Re-che)

Done!

• Purchase a butler uniform for Ren (Volks SDGr Okita Souji)
• Purchase a new dress for Noelle (Volks SD Saki)

I'm trying to complete my doll collection this year (if that's even possible ) so I can focus on expanding their backstories, world, and wardrobe in 2018. :3

 

I am currently still waiting for two more YOSDs that I ordered near the end of 2016, and I have one more in mind that I would like to order when I have the funds to do so. I have big plans to design lots of knitting patterns for my YOSDs and my son's MSD. I would also like to try building some furniture for the YOSDs and creating some form of room for each of them to enjoy. I would love to do a major clothing, wigs, and shoes shopping spree for them too!!

 

I am a new convert from vinyl fashion dolls, so I am liquidating past collections and learning and buying a lot of resins...specifically Iplehouse and Raccoondoll.

 

*slinks in whispers*.... DM Trinity home by end of July latest (no i have not bought her yet lol) shhhhh!

not doing much for 'plans' as Iplehouse has a way of blowing them to hell and back but i do have a short (snorts) list of dolls... who gets home first (as a full doll) is anyone's guess...
Concrete plan... buying 2 iple JID Kyle heads and shoes if they restock in time for the order... tomorrow XD

 

Man my doll to do list is so long for this year, everyone is in serious need of some love and care

Actual dolls
-Commission two wigs to be made for Oliver, one for Syd (maybe commission Lélio's?)
-Buy practically ten pairs of eyes (Two for Oliver, one for Kishen, Livnah, Syd, Lélio, Alexis...)
-Clothing. So much clothing. (What am I doing clothing wise?)
-Commission historic outfits for Kishen (At least three?), Lélio's outfit, Andros' outfit
-Get Oliver some glasses
-Andros needs a new horn
-Pls not forget to get shoes
-Get Kishen's head back
-Get bodies for Kishen, Alexis, Lélio
-Get Livnah's things preferably before he gets here
-Commission faceup and body blushing for Livnah
-Everybody needs body blushing...
-Figure out what I'm even doing for Syd
-Give Alexis some love this year because he's been a floating head on my shelf for like a year

Other doll things:
-Try to make a diorama for Kishen
-Framed paintings, 'plush' chair, tiny books, tiny tea set?
-Try to invest in/make accessories this year
-Take more pictures
-Try super hard not to buy any more dolls until current ones are finished (I'm only lying to myself?)

 

I'm still super new to the hobby, so 2017 will be spent (after receiving my first doll) building up what I have! I'd love to get another doll (Or maybe even two???) and buy them all nice wigs, clothes, shoes etc.
