Doll Plans 2017!

Buy eyes, clothes, change my girls and boys' make up.....

 

My doll plans for 2017 are to recieve the doll body I bought for Yuri, and possibly properly clean and redo his face up. Also to make him a wig and get or make him better eyes. Not to mention I need to buy some better pastels, I hope I can buy some mungyo brand ones, and also get the hang of knitting and sewing clothes for him. And before I forget, some well deserved shoes for the poor guy.

 

I plan on finishing up the projects I have for the dolls I purchased, do some face-ups and they my hands at mods. A few of my baes need some more clothes so I'd like to accomplish that. I'm going to avoid purchasing any more next year. (Unless one really calls my heart :'D) and hope to purchase jointed hands for my SD, maybe some pretty acessories or set pieces.

 

I may as well list my new year's good resolutions:

1. for Timeless Body : sew hood with front zip, make Jersey shorts, redraw tight trousers pattern.
2. TL3: dresses - done -, shiny/lacy/goldy clothes.
3. Feeple65: jacket.
4. Dollzone B60-005: t-shirts, long-sleeved t-shirts, pullover, hairband/hat.
   
5. MSD: leggings, trousers, hoods.
6. Tackle 'how to make boots'
7. Tackle 'how to make wigs'.
8. Tackle 'how to make eyes'.

 

Oh man, I don't even... XD every year I make a plan, and every year it goes up in smoke. Ideally tho?

1. Work on finishing my unfinished dolls, especially those that came toward the end of the year. So, face ups, wigs, and eyes for those who need it. (Bodies for my heads...)
2. Continue working on a doll space.
3. Sort stuff and get rid of what I don't want/need.

 

I have a few plans/goals for next year.

I wanna get my doll an actual outfit. I doubt I'll find shoes that fit her darn 5cm feet so socks will do. I also want to find a wig that fits my image of her in my mind. I didn't think it would be an issue until I put on the wig that I fell in love with online on her. It didn't go so well. Then I wanna make a few props for her "bed" where I keep her. I also wanna order a few pet dolls from Aimerai. So cute

 

Plans, plans. Actually, not as many as in previous years since I have all of the actual dolls I've been seeking (FINALLY!). Still, it never ends

1. Finish the layaway for toddler Yumeko and bring her home.
2. Buy her a wig, eyes, and clothes, and get her a faceup.
3. Get clothes commissioned for my other girls.

 

• Almost all of my dolls will be getting restrung. Fun times.
• I want to finally get back to practicing faceups.
• Annnnnnd probably buy a matching outfits for the twins.

 

I'm quite wary of making definite 2017 plans, but the list below is something that I would want to accomplish next year if everything goes well.

Doll buying plans:
- FINALLY a nice body for my Mr Rabbit (ANS) head
- to start putting extra money into my second account, in case I would get an opportunity to buy bronze or violet Soom Amber
- Doll Chateau Evangeline ver. A with the helmet and high heels

Other doll plans:
-a total makeover of Lydia (Souldoll Madalyn)
-temp dresses and face ups for new arrivals + work on concepts for them
-research making 3D printed props for dolls using Shapeways
-figure out if I want to keep Souldoll Swinte head or sell it

Now, all those plans could change, of course, if I happen to fall in love in any of the future dolls that will come out suddenly next year (Soom & Souldoll - I'm looking at you!) In that case Evangeline might need to wait...

 

Ah, 2017 seems to be a promising year! I just ordered a DC doll so in April/May I'll finally get my first ever BJD. I might save up some money and try to purchase a Piposdoll by the end of the year.

Also I got really inspired by a DoA member, who posted photos oh her doll dressed as Clara - from the Nutcracker Prince story, and now I really want to work on a couple of Monster High/Ever After High custom dolls to make both the Prince and Clara. It will be my first work but I'm really positive on the outcome.

 

I'll lay out some plans for 2017 and be curious as to how long it takes me to throw those plans to the wind *rolls eyes at self*.

*buy body for Wu-Tyr and once that arrives, dye the hands and arms and get him a face-up
*decide whether or not to buy the Soom Gluino Idelian51 before the sale is over
*if Gluino is bought, make plans to purchase his partner, SoulDoll Rail, later in the year
*if Gluino and Rail are bought, make clothes for both
*if Gluino and Rail are bought, no further dolls are to be bought for the year (commence laughing hysterically)
*make wig for Makasi (still haven't gotten to this after having it on the list last year *sigh*)
*make clothes for Gunari (still haven't gotten to this after having it on the list last year *sigh*)

 

Here are my doll plans for 2017

1. Dolls

• Pay off Granado Raguel(Vinh). Done. Received!
• Pay off SoulDoll Paw (Lawrence). Done. Received!
• Pay off SIO2 Lipstick (Akari). Done.
• Pay off DollShe Rosen (Ambrose). Done.
• Pay off SoulDoll Ella (Hélène). (July)
• Pay off DollShe Robins (Emil and Hinrich). (October)
• Start layaway for DollZone Mirai and LUTS Corni with MOC. (August, pay off in January)
• Order 2 Bluefairy Louis for my twin boys(child ver), Cain and Lawrence. (2018)
• Order Volks SD13 boy body for Décembre. (If I can 2018)
• Order SQ Lab Luka. (If I can 2018)

2. Aesthetics

• Get/make faceups for all my blank heads/dolls. (Manon and Décembre, and 'Michael', 'Raguel' and Lawrence when I receive them.)
• New faceup for Augustus. (If I can)
• Faceup for the child twins. (When I get them, if I can)

3. Clothing and accessories

• All my dolls need or will need clothing... I'd like to learn sewing to make them clothes!
• Get/make wigs for (again pretty much all) my dolls.
• Get/make eyes for all my dolls.. (I'd love learning to make them myself, I could make eyes with the perfect size for my preferences///.)
• Get shoes for my dolls. (Only two of them have shoes right now..)

2016 is ending and I have a collection of blank, naked and bald dolls. For 2017, I want to work on the projects I started this year and hopefully finish them.

I have a lot RL things planned for 2017 so I might be unable to complete every of my doll project... So I set priorities for thems. My top ones are Manon and Lawrence, then 'Michael' and 'Raguel'! Getting new dolls in 2017 is not set in stone yet, I'll see how much I've progressed with the dolls I already own and it'll depend on my savings.

I will do my best to stick to my plans for 2017. I can do this!!

Let's see...I didn't stick to many of my plans for 2016 (life got in the way a bit there and not much time for dollies).

2017 BJD plans:
-Finish 1 diorama for my Realpuki
-Buy Realpuki Toki in tan skin
-Buy one of my grail dolls (crossing my fingers again)
-Send 2 dolls for face ups
-Clean and restring my current dolls
-Buy new wigs, eyes and shoes for my current doll family
-Take more photos of my dolls
-Learn wig making
-Learn to sew doll clothes
-Attend some local doll meets

 

Doll Plans for 2017, that may or may not fade into dust:
Start/Complete face ups for all my dolls.
Learn to sew doll clothes.
Make new wigs for each doll.
Order a Dollzone NightHawk Head.
Order a Doll Chateau Fergus Head.
Restring a few of the dolls.
Sell one doll body (Replace)
FtM mod for one doll.
... Convince boyfriend to order our Doll Chateau Austins.

Plans I know I will complete:
Pay off my Dollzone 'Moon' and 'Hermit'. (March/April)

 

There's three main goals are some mini goals under those. The three big goals are:

1. Pay off student loans and credit card so I have more spending money for next year.
2. Clean up and organize craft room.
3. Buy plenty of clothes, wigs, and shoes for my tinies before buying a new doll.

Mini goals include:

• Put all tiny clothes and accessories in plastic bags, label and then put in drawer
• Make sure all dolls have 2-3 wigs
• Make sure I buy play clothes not just dresses (Hoodies, leggings, jeans ect.)
• Make sure each doll as sneakers and dressy shoes
• Put things in the garage that don't need to be in craft room
• Finish projects and purge extra fabric and yarn

 

I think I will be developing the collection of smaller size dolls.

I am recently venturing into MSD territory because there seems to be a recent trend to making mature bodies in this size. I am not attracted to "children" type BJDs (but like the adult types), and the smaller size dolls are enticing.

I found that the larger muscular dolls like Megagem or EID are too large, and dolls smaller than Supergem would be grand.

 

- wipe and re-do MiroDoll Lili's faceup
- finish in-progress faceups (Volks Mimi, a bunch of off-topic dolls)
- body for Luts Summer 2016 KDF OR a girlfriend for MiroDoll Lili
- diorama for my 1/8
- get my first SD-sized doll! possibly a Dollfie Dream
- make/buy shoes, stockings, and accessories to match my Volks Yuni's main outfit
- get stands!
- minimize impulse spending

There's a lot of sewing-related stuff I want to do, too, but I'm going to chill on planning that until I have enough physical space for a sewing table again. I'm also hoping to move in 2017 and I'd love to set up a dedicated display space for my dolls (other than the shelf they're all sitting on right now).

 

2017 is here! And although I promised to go on a dolly diet, I would like to:

• Try to build a diorama for my tiny dolls.
• Maybe create a blog for my dolls where I can share their stories.
• Keep improving my photos to make my dollies justice.
• Hope I can finish giving some of my blank dolls on faceup.
• Probably buy a few handful of dolls that I really like. Hopefully I can buy less than 5 dolls this year.

 

My dolly goals this year would be to get a doll. At least one this year that would be great. I'd like to have an SD or an MSD. I don't really lean towards the smaller dolls just mainly due to mobility and articulation. I want to have a doll that I could make clothes for. So an SD kinda works better since it's not so tiny in design. But an MSD would prob be good because it would be easier to handle than a large doll I think. As you can see I'm pretty torn between a number of different ideas. In all honestly, if I was to get any doll I think I would be happy. Money is just really tight right now. I'm a stay at home mom, so my two-year-old keeps me busy. And Hubby just doesn't understand the point of the hobby at all. Sooo it will probably take until my little girl is in school and I can get a job before I get one. I can still dream tho. I would be ecstatic if I could get one this year.
