Doll Plans 2018!

I loved participating in threads for prior years, so... here goes nothing!

Ongoing / Carryover

* Take face-up practice seriously.
* Buy additional DOA doll profiles.
* Style my Volks YoSD Kira.
*Buy, craft, and/or replace accessories for my current crew.
- add patch to my Dollmore Pado's hoodie.
- sew lab coat and buy shoes for my HuajingDoll Kimberly.
- start assembling my MYOU Delia's outfit.
- dye then style my Flower Hata Meng.
- repaint and buy eyes for my Kids-Sky Moonstone.
- buy a new outfit and eyes for my Kids-Sky Bobo.
- craft a belt for my GUUDoll Verona.
- sand the human ears off my Xagadoll May.
- style my SOOM Serin.
- sew suit jacket and hat for my Hujoo Dana.
- made a holster, badge, etc. for my DIM Ace.
* Hope none of the dolls on my wishlist get discontinued...

My list is pretty simple this time around...

Hettie, Hypatia and Infinity all need their blushing done.
Maddie needs a new faceup.
I need to finish painting Nemesis the Adorable Robot, and then find him some appropriately green crystal eyes.
Ant needs her flaming red mohawk.
A few of the gang still need decent pictures taken and profiles made.

On the potential new dolls front... I'm pretty much out of cabinet space for anyone else, but I still want a Kondo. And I wouldn't say no to a Celestyn if one happened to pop up. And that new SpiritDoll girl in white resin would be pretty much perfect for the Nemissay's beloved Unquiet Bride.

 

My goal this year is to not buy any doll clothes,but make at least half of my dolls and outfit. Hopefully this will help me to learn a little more about sewing and adjusting pattern sizes. Also, this year I will try not to buy any new or used dollies until October or November. This will probably mean a lot of self-banishment from all dolly things for me.
Who am I kidding, I’ll look but I won’t buy(this will be my mantra everyday). I’ll look but I won’t buy, I’ll look but I want, I mean won’t buy. If I keep saying this it’ll make it true,right?

 

To Do:

Oh it's a piece of furniture I found online, like an actual bar! It's got a counter and then like a set of shelves for bottles and glasses and you can get a set of barstools with it.

 

Finish buying/making clothing to cover the minifee I have.
Hopefully buying minifee liria? (HAHA)
Or maybe changing my mind and getting feeple60 Cygne?
Attend doll meetups and befriend my fellow hobbyists.
That's pretty much it. I'm new to the hobby so I don't have a lot...

The body for the Morfeo had is complicated as I’d like to get him a Dollshe body…and I have another head whose body isn’t as right as I’d like it. So, for Morfeo, I would want a Oriental Pure or Classic. The other head is on an Oriental Classic, but I’d really like a fresh color. So if I can get a Fresh Classic body, I’ll switch them and that would work. Or I need a Pure oriental so I can switch legs. That’s the plan. It’s a good plan. Other than the having to spend money part of it.
Got a body coming in. Problem solved.

The two IOS heads are the same person and will share, I’m looking at a Mirodoll 70 cm because I need something skinny with big shoulders and so far it’s fitting the bill.

No idea what I want for my RD Norman. Something that fits his clothes so I don’t have to buy a $200 suit again.

In theory, that should be all I need to buy. I have one more (non-OC) character I wouldn’t mind owning as a doll, just in case I feel the need to buy a new doll…but that’s about it. So the head I wanted for this character became available to me, and I grabbed him. So...I need another body, but half my actual doll wishlist has been attained XD -- except I then changed another doll I already owned into the character this head was going to be...so now it's a perma-floater.

I also received an amazing gift from Ringdoll - A SenKai head! He needs a body now too.

Also need some more clothes, shoes especially for certain dolls. And eyes for John that are proving to be impossible to find so I may have to learn how to make them. Bought some, we'll see how I like them.

Eyes for other dolls too. Eyes for everyone. I did order some eyes. For dolls who already have good eyes. I am kind of fail....

Space. I have none. I need to do one of two things: - Pulled a lot of dolls out. Maybe more later
Rearrange so I have more space for the dolls.
Sell more.

I’m currently not thrilled with a bunch of my older dolls and I’m really leaning toward selling some of them. But since they’re older I can’t get them back if they’re gone and I regret it…so I’ve been not doing it. This needs to be finally resolved this year. Also I have to decide what to do about my Minis. I never touch them anymore. I might need to move to SD size only in the next year…or at least several of them on.

As of today I had this crazy idea for two of my Unoa’s I was previously thinking of selling. Now I want to just remake them into other OCs. This did not work out.

Ringdoll Project head –started, never finished. I have been working on this since the weather doesn't allow faceups or other sealant-related work. I'm almost done!! Except I'm nearly at the part where I'll have to work on his faceup. Sigh. Also he'll need a body. omg.

This is actually the first time I feel like I did some things on my next year plans. Maybe I'll get some more crossed off!!

 

My plans:

- Doll Chateau Fergus head - ordered
- Doll Chateau Snowborn head - ordered
- Doll Chateau A-body 06 (maybe ~~)
- DollZone Benjamin Demon egg - found one secondhand!! (I'd preferred the human one, but the one with the horns is fine too)
- a Doll Chateau centaur, MSD size (maybe ~~)

 

I have things I'd love to do, but realistically, all I can probably do is:

-get a body for my floating MSD artist head.
-Maybe buy one boy SD doll.
-Maybe buy one smaller doll (either a pet or another MSD Size).
-Start taking more commissions.
-Buy an airbrush & practice with it.
-Finish my other dolls.
-Take dolls out for more photoshoots outside and get better with photography.

I'd love to buy all the dolls on my wishlist but with how much money I make currently It's not realistic x'D unless I start getting better with money saving and managing. Which is a personal goal lol

--Get everyone socks (seriously, why is this the single most difficult task to complete?! Why does everything else knock "socks" off the list so easily?! Socks don't need to be knocked off in this case. Enough.)
--Mod Allie's elbow joints. His peanuts are awful and nearly pointless. [Finished!]
--Perhaps make a collapsible photobox/room thing [Finished!]
--Take more pictures [WE DO IT]
--Get a new... drawer... thing... for the clothes and stuff
--Since everyone's complete at this point, consider buying another doll for [SECRET PROJECT]! [He's here!]

I just got a new doll a few weeks ago, an Iplehouse FID Rex. I have him faceupped, eyes, shoes and wigs bought. I made him a shirt. I am just waiting for his jeans to arrive from Russia, and then he will be pretty much done. I still want to make him a coat, and I might redo his face.

I am thinking about getting a Fairyland RealPuki, I am so sad that they don't make the Popo sculpt anymore. I would really like one of those, he looks so gleeful. I am thinking about getting a Soso. It would be fun to have a tiny little doll that I could carry around everywhere. Most of my dolls are kind of big.

Well, I'd really like to try and get a Pipos Cheesemouse or an aileendoll Dragon this year. We'll see if finances work out or not.

 

My goals are to get dolls for my sisters (luckily they like cheaper dolls)
And for my first BJDs, I've decided I'm going to save up and buy a Feeple60 Cygne and a Minifee (though I love so many Minifee sculpts I keep switching which one I want to buy)
I'm going to make all the dolls' eyes, and hopefully a few of their wigs.
And my main goal is to sew 3 outfits for each doll before they get here.

 

I have already bought a doll and a body ...
I have to save money. But maybe I'll buy the Lonnie iplehouse or the myou Delia

 

Organize and take inventory during KonMari:
~ wigs, eyes, clothes, shoes, accessories
...and clear out what is just taking up space. Hopefully make some dolly selling decisions by year's end but I say that every year and I have never sold any doll at all. Fat chance!

(And shamefully kept all their heads hidden in a drawer as practice heads...should I make a macabre doll-head display, I wonder? Shiva/Kali's "victims"?)
~ make some Wine and Dollies and tag/prompts videos, always looking for more Legit+ youtubers so I kind of want to join in and contribute. See if I can persuade a few local doll people to join me with their dolls as special guests.

~ Organize and host one or more big try-on/swaps with local and regional doll people. Tulsa, KCMO, Arkansas and surrounds.

~ post and participate more here, in creative projects, make my doll profiles and play GAMES!
~ participate in The Great Triathlon again! I've only done it once but I completed it and really enjoyed the whole thing! I'm ready again!

~ Unoa Rowan Prim, + eyes, wig, sundries (newly released doll, so she will come directly from the company or through UnoAlchemy)
~ Eyes for others as needed, I'm getting some calipers because the eye 'situation' is going to take some careful attention.
~ plan for another doll to come along because I've never bought just one in a year, it's always 'none' or 'some', usually in 3's. Wallet says ouch. Brain says 'Popovy'. It's impossible not to get sucked in and buy another doll when I'm deep into shopping for doll things, the dolls practically leap into the cart.

Buy/attempt some trades:
~mostly Unoa hybriding parts, I'll record the details in a blog post and on my new doll instagram, it will give me something to post about.

I've been absent from the hobby community for a bit and I feel impossibly behind and like I've forgotten most of what I know about dolls so other than waiting for my Saint, putting together my Sard and buying Prim, I feel like the first 1/2 of 2018 will partially just be devoted to me becoming re-familiar with the hobby and back up to speed! 2017+18 have been good doll acquisition years though with 3 real dream dolls either coming, just arrived or just on the horizon. Doll life is good!
