Doll Plans 2018!

Well all 'buying' related plans officially scuttled until... when ever I can dig out of financial hole... Had to buy a new pc... So paying that and Arvid off. Only exceptions will be if IH does a 'discontinue' thing again, I will get needed heads if I have to. I can still work to seeing if the clothing maker has all she needs for Drake's freaky body...
Arvid found his name that this one fits very neatly into so did that lol.
if I can get in on a GO from my own club I might be able to do a backdrop... keeping local cuts serious costs

bedroom getting organized (still with bed in it) to accommodate said new pc... might be able to keep a few dolls in here with me. Still want bed gone ><

I did not too bad but my 'mad spend' is definitely over... time to dial back the buying in general... just a few months sooner than planned.

I'll see what I can "plan" in the no cost zone after I'm done being depressed at the pc debacle . Stillnoot totally sorted yet... but I'm able to be in my doll community again now...

 

Well, it's been like a month and this has already changed...

So, a refined 2018 plans list:

-Pay off my layaway!
-Once said layaway doll arrives, figure out wig/eyes/shoes, and make some clothing because he's an in-between scale and standard clothes may not fit.
-Bridgette's body: wait for the next Summerbird preorder to open up, unless a cream white Viola body with the small bust comes up by chance secondhand.
-Ezra's body: Mirodoll 66cm, unless something extremely similar (both in price and proportion) comes up secondhand.
-Once those two both have bodies: send their heads off for faceups and potential blushing to match.
-If I really dislike layaway doll's faceup in person, send all 3 in one shipment.
-Once Resinsoul opens up color matching again (April-ish), order replacement hands for Yu Lin. Possibly order Resinsoul Ju at that time only if shipping is otherwise brutal.
-Keep sewing, keep taking photos, definitely keep going to meetups. Don't forget that this is supposed to be fun!

 

I got a new job, so now all my plans are being overhauled! It's kind of dangerous to have a doll budget.


1. Send Dowen (IH Edan) off for his face-up Done!
2. Order a bunch of ED eyes
5. Buy Migidoll Han & Jina heads during their ordering periods.
6. Get bodies!! Switch 65 & 57girl bodies
7. Do a big taobao order in the summer
8. Participate more in the community and post more photos

That's about it. In general I want to do more with my own dolls, since they've been on the backburner for so long. I've missed them and I'm happy that I have more time for them now that I stopped taking commissions.

2018 Plans

• Get my first bjd doll - I think I might buy my first one in march, If I do, I'll update here and a Second Doll goal
• Clean out my fashion Doll collection, for Space
• Work in a diorama
• Sew more

 

My plans for 2018:
- Repaint Bonnie (off topic doll, so no details lmao)
- Finally open my online store
- Get some solid progress on my WIP dolls (hand sculpted)
- Buy another doll (unsure of the sculpt quite yet)

 

To buy:
-Shoes for the incoming Dollshe guys(1/2)
-More stylish shoes in general
-Ly and Gail body reshells (Waiting on Ly's body. Need to reevaluate Gail's look.)
-Jointed hands for Orimutoh
-An SG-size Soom Sabik head?
-Prop camping tents, an SD-sized bicycle and—dare I say a moped?
-Aesthetically pleasing doll stands
-Doll display cabinet/shelves
-More secure/better quality doll carrier

To-do:
-Remain calm while awaiting Dollshe order arrival
-Finish mods to David Bowie, Orimutoh and floating head
-Create Ori’s talons
-Make more papercraft and polymer clay props, and furniture + diorama wall boards as space permits, specifically Uriah’s guitars, Gailan’s cello, mobiles for everyone, textbooks, magazines, food, camping gear, headphones? (Didn't accomplish 100% of these, but knocked out a lot of them!)
-Make wigs for the baldies(3/5)
-Buy/make new eyes for everyone(Made some, trying again with new techniques in 2019)
-Make new outfits(3/6)
-Add to Uri’s tattoos, tattoo his new hands (Still sketchin' + avoiding sealant exposure while pregnant)
-Faceups for Gail, Ori/Gunther, Sadhinne, my friend’s boy, my floating head and DB(4/6)
-Sell off extra parts(A few gone, more to go)
-Clothing purge/reorganization
-Photostories(1)
-Doll profiles(1/4)
-Reach out to local hobbyists (Fail, moved where there are none)
-Keep moving dolls around so my husband cannot count them (Apparently it's better to keep them in one place. My husband looked relieved to hear when he asked point-blank that I only have six complete dolls.)

 

My huge photostory, the Civil War.
This spring is the first major battle, Bull Run.
I am not shooting it in any order but will compile it in order.
I will need hundreds of dolls and action figures (like barbies and the like and cheap army figures that you buy at the dollar store) to be on both sides for the larger battles, such as Gettysburg and Shiloh, Vicksburg and Cold Harbour.
I only have 31 BJD's and how can I create a convincing Gettysburg with that?!
It will be a monumental undertaking, hopefully it's some sort of BJD record.
I'll have little cannons too.
And can reuse anything for Lily and the Argonauts.

Possibly downsize my doll collection this year to make more room for the dolls I really want.

These are the main things I really want to do this year. I hope I can make some head way on it. Wish Me luck!

 

Buy bodies and the basics for a start, attempt to learn how to craft/sew/take pictures, will try to take it easy～ for the years to come aha.

These are the important things I want to do. I could have written 'Not buying one doll', but I know I will break that plan immediately when I hear a gorgeous doll calling my name xD!!!

My plans for this year are pretty basic, I think, but maybe it's because I'm just starting out with this hobby! I may have to add more stuff as the year goes on.

- Order my first BJD (A Mystic Kids Lawrence), with eyes, a wig and at least one outfit.
- Get back to sewing so I can make clothes for him and actually do one of my designs in miniature for him.
- If he arrives this year (I hope so!), take him to a castle I live close to so that I can take pictures of him in there.The background is just too stunning to not do it.
- Buy face-up materials. I´ll order him with the factory face-up, but someday I really want to do it myself.
- Get him a kimono. I´m not sure if I´ll do it myself or I´ll buy it online, but I really want to have one.
- Open an Instagram account and post pictures of my doll weekly.

 

Oh boy. My doll plans in 2018 are supposed to be LOOOW

I have my first step more or less done.
Purchased a Senior Delf bory head (Not the 65 version, but the limited one.)
Purchased a Fdoll body for my Karis head. (The mirodoll body went to Bory.)


Now I have to:
-Wait for body arrival. Scar it.
-tattoo and pierce Rhyme (Borys) body
-refresh Frosts tattoos
-tattoo flynns body
-try and get my hands on a TAN skin Peakswoods Shaia boy
-Xagadoll MSD female body (Late 2018)


So not a lot of big purchases except for that peakswoods.... And Id like to keep it that way! :P

but other than purchases, I'd potentially want to try and maybe take up a few sewing and faceup commissions come good weather. It stinks living where I do where I battle cold and humidity Lol!

 

Since a total of four darlings are on their way, my to do list consists mostly of:

• face ups
• clothes
• new dollhouse & furniture
• loads of photos

Each of these has extra 1546851686454514513546879874123 steps that I will not bother listing

 

Doll Plans for 2018!

Find the PERFEKT doll! - I am currently looking for my very first one. And I Intend to find one, so that I also will resive it this year!
Get more practice - I have just gotten myself a monster high doll. I can tell from a lot of you, that you use these for practise. So I plan on getting my wig skills and facepainting up.
Do A LOT of photos. - I love to take pictures (of everything!), and I plan on getting a lot of practice with that as well. Most of my photography is nature pictures. But I really wanna learn to focus more on the objects in front of me. And when I first get my beautiful doll, I am going to go crazy with my camera
Have Fun With It! - I intend fully to have fun with it. I am a noob, that is not for discussion. But as being new to the hobby, I plan on a lot of fun creativity with it, and a lot of challenges for myself.

 

For 2018 I have two big projects planned.
1. Get my Charm Doll Dunn home and make all of his clothes. It'll be my first time making a whole doll outfit from scratch so that will be an adventure.
2. Finish Ruvik (BJD version of the antagonist from The Evil Within). I've had his head floating for almost a year and just before TEW2 came out, I got him a body and fashioned a hood for him. His body needs to be scarred up and he needs pants. Hopefully, both of those will happen this year.

 

I want to:

1. Find a Soom Dia (and buy him)
2. Learn how to make Alpaca wigs (started already)
3. Improve on face ups. (Maybe get an airbrush)
