Doll Plans 2018!

Here are my old man resolutions:

2017:

In 2017, work was hard on my time. I didn't take vacation or enough photos. Only one short stop motion, and no mental space for posts. But I did make many improvements to my collection, and brought home some long-awaited faces.

Older Man Resolutions:

• Kill the bills and bring Poulpy home
• A body for Lor'themar or the Pukifee
• A body for someone else
  
• Figure out Magwin and the floating Domuya head
• A tan or grey body
• Horns for Beliaer, Kinga, Orcus, and Thalanx
• Wardrobe updates. Emphasis on MSD- Tiny, and characters with few outfits. A harness for Haldric.
  
• BJD Tattoos?
• Figure out how to fix Super Gem fantasy leg posing. Or send the Captain to someone who knows what they're doing.
  
• Wigs and eyes
• Reach out to more hobbyists
  
• Build more sets
• Prop purge
• Elf cull
• Finish the WIP I started
• Post more to YouTube and Tumblr
• Coloured character references that aren't busts
• More comics? You seem to like photostories.
• Buy a regular release doll that's on my list.

 

Only resin purchases allowed are the following:

• shell for Rafael (mature mini man) if I find a good face and body
• body for Selina (minifee a-line)
• mnf Chloe in WS
• reshell Luka from Shaun to Titika only if I manage to sell Shaun first
• Youpladolls Vlad if it's the final preorder and I have the funds

Other plans:

• profiles!
• diorama/doll room and lots of furniture and props
• sew new clothes for everyone
• ED eyes for those who wear random poop (Lili, Aaron, Luka)
• finally open my Etsy wig store

 

2018...

Photo booth set up for my dolls- flowers, a blue-grey wall and wood flooring.

Attend doll convention for the first time!- probably Doll Party in LA

Complete my doll wish list!- Need to wait until somebody decided to find them a new home.

Buy cloth from my dream doll dress shops.

Be better at face up for my girls.

Get some organized space for doll play.

 

My Resolutions are full of failure, but they say it's good to try and put things into words, so...

1. OMG, do not buy any more dolls. I swear, I do not want to be the one who is hoarding the most dolls!

2. Pay off my 2 layaways.

3. Blush my unpainted dolls.

4. Take more photos.

5. Sort out storage and organize doll items.

6. Try and sort out some sort of doll shelves or place to put them safely!!!

7. Do not buy more clothes and shoes and wigs and eyes, either. I can open up a dolls store as it is--with most of the stuff brand new!!!

 

I'm not gonna dig up my post from last year, but it's probably pretty much the same. Work on finishing up the dolls I have! I enjoy having a lot of "doll projects" but I'd like to cross some more off this year, self. Let's make that happen!

 

I'm still a newb so my plans are in all directions.
1) Get more clothes for my MSDs, especially to get them more stylized
2) Send JoJo for face up. Restring him at some point
3) Restring Annix
4) Save for two more SDs. The dream is Impldoll Joshua and Tony (and Acorn!). The reality is RS Feng and BBB Yang
5) Get good at face ups so I can face up my new SDs.

 

My plans for the year are pretty humble, all things considered.

- First off, I need to finish my alternative Victorian'esque wedding gown with all of its many pieces
- Try making a wig and a pair of shoes (this is in connection with the dress)
- If possible get a SoulDoll Flett on a SoulKid boy body home
- See to get some 10+ heads, which are currently blank, painted
- Get more clothing, shoes, eyes, wigs and accessories home
- Generally sew more, perhaps even take a few commissions

 

Building a gothic victorian laboratory room box is my first project. Trying to narrow my focus and see if that helps.

 

• Sew more doll clothes with the "I forgot why I bought this" fabrics.
• Get a lankier body for my Oscar head.
• More FreedomTeller probably
• Do more face-ups

Honestly it feels weird to say, but my doll collection is reasonably "complete" at this point! Like I might add more at some point, but like I don't feel the need to seek out new heads to buy or anything.

Everyone just needs fuller wardrobes and I always wanna wipe them to have prettier faces from time to time.

 

My 2018 plans are:

• Get my Resinsoul and Akagi Doll boys in (they're on order right now)
• Learn to sew them clothes, make their wigs, and make them basic furniture
• Get air dry clay for props
• Buy all needed faceup materials
• Buy a BJD eye mold and resin to make eyes

My tentative resin dolly purchases I'm planning on are:

• Resinsoul Song in Dark Tan
• Resinsoul Ming with Yao horns in varying colors I haven't chosen yet
• Dollzone Benjamin (full doll or just head is fine)
• Maybe a Resinsoul YoSD or two??? I really like the Winter and I like the thought of Sera (my RS boy on order) having two brothers (Song and a YoSD)

I more then likely won't get all of these this year, as I'm no where near wealthy enough, but eh, a man can dream! And while they are off topic, I won't go into too much detail, but I have become smitten with a number of Hujoo dolls as well and wouldn't mind picking up some of those if at all possible. There are other things, like doing my very first faceup, making my first clothes, wigs, and eyes, etc. But those will come in time when my boys arrive! Either way, regardless if my doll family grows before the end of the year or not, having my two guys coming in already makes me happy!

 

And one more: Get started on doll profiles. Maybe I can persuade someone with a decent camera and some photo skillz to help me with doll profile pictures.

 

2018 and beyond goals

5. Get horse and customize
6. Make room/backdrops
7. Buy furniture and more clothes
8. Buy 70 cm boy for Drizzt because.... reasons.

 

2018

Well, I am waiting for my Iplehouse Rex FID to arrive, he should be here any day now. I have his eyes, wigs, jeans, boots, etc. ordered so all I really need to do is his faceup once he arrives, and make him some shirts and jackets. Then take oodles of pictures with Jilly ( the Iplehouse Leona girl who has been waiting two years for me to find just the right boy for her) I sure hope they like each other! If so, there will eventually be a WEDDING, with one- heck- of a- fancy- dress...etc.!!!

I might get a realpuki Soso as a birthday gift to myself in the spring.

 

I'm late to this party but I have Arrived and here's my dolly to-do list:

• Have Faye's body blushed/ get her face up fixed
• Sell my Delf body
• Sell my event head that I don't use
• Sell the old outfits for my dolls
• New wigs for Arshile, Stella, and Faye
• New eyes for Arshile and Faye
• Have Arshile's body blushed
• Prince attire for Arshile
• Nicer clothes for Rue
• Heeled feet/ shoes for Rue
• Nicer outfits for Stella
• Delve into MSDs
• Pastel clothes for MSD (no name yet)
• Wig/eyes for MSD
• Shoes for MSD
• I'm moving in May so I'd love to have a good permanent set up for my dolls!

It's a tall order but I hope I can cross a lot off this year!

 

January if almost over, but here's my to-do!

• Sell the doll that needs selling!
• Face-ups and sueding!
• Fix my GEM of Doll box
  
• Wig, eyes and clothes for Magnolia
• Sew some outfits for my tinies
• Bring home Portobello: need to buy my Foveo + Spiritdoll hybrid parts
• For tiny resin dolls, limit to ONE. Resist getting more. Focus on buying the 1/3 scale doll for now.

• Buy my first Dollfie Dream: Volks DD Mayu. **maybe**
• Buy some wig-making fibres.
• Commission BJDDouterie to make a harp/lyre for Galadon.
  
• Commission someone to make some clothes for Galadon.
• Buy suede.
• Commission someone to make a “Iason Mink” cosplay for Galadon. **change of plans**

I absolutely need to avoid:

• Buy dolls that are outside of my current wish list.
