Doll plans 2022

For the rest of this year I'm just going to look for dolls and see which ones I would like to get. I'm actually looking for one right now to fit my FFXIV character which I found a few but they aren't in stock yet so I'll be watching for them.

 

Faceup for iMda 3.0 Simonne + buying her accessories & clothes. Simonne has gotten painted & styled. She should be home shortly!
Faceup for MiaDoll Koi + buying his accessories & clothes.
Take photographs of my dolls.
Aquire a Muhan Doll sculpt (Chinese homemade artist doll) Muhan Doll Momo is at home
Get a second Yuyudoll sculpt (still waiting on Zhuzhu fullset to arrive.) Zhuzhu arrived, and I ended up not liking the size >u< Need to rehome her.

I did a good job this year - I don't think I'll be able to get Koi painted this year though. He can be next year's project ^3^ I am happy with the state of my dolly family for the first time in... ever! So I'll just enjoy their company and expand their closets for the rest of the year c;

 

For next few months, I plan to buy SD dolls and buy tiny dolls
As my wish dolls are sold out, I have to find them on markets ;( I hope to meet them soon.

 

September update time, I suppose!

1. No new dolls! - Well, I failed this one all the way in March with Beryl. I also got an OT(?) doll and have another gal on the way.

2. Shoes for everyone - I did get shoes! Beryl doesn't need them, so she's an exception. The incoming gal will need them, though.

3. Hanfu for Tian Ni - Success! Got that early in the year.

4. Try faceups? - I did do faceups indeed! I did Suha's and I'll do the new gal's. I might also redo Beryl's.

5. Improve my sewing - I did make a button-down shirt like my original goal mentioned. It, uh, still doesn't have snaps and buttons, but the shirt's made. I'm still not great but I've expanded my horizons and tried a number of new patterns. Unfortunately my machine is a little busted right now.

Goals for the rest of the year:

1. Seriously, enough dolls. Once new girl's home, that's it. I'm running out of cabinet space.

2. More shoes. New girl needs them, and it's nice to have some spare pairs to change around.

3. Clothe new girl. I think she might be the recipient of some yarn I've been holding onto for a while. Like, since high school for at least one ball.

4. Get the sewing machine fixed. I have fabric to stashbust!

Can't believe I just started this year and i'm already waist deep in this

 

joining the "Where we're at so far" train!

Spoiler: this got a little long..

luckily I made my list kind of open ended.....

• DFH Body for my dollclans Jaquer - Attained! Then sold and reattained because the first body was a little too small! But he has a body!
  
• and.. then finish the rest of him - ... He has clothes and a wig and eyes! .... not finished though...
  
• and finish the 5 faceups i need to do.. that’s a summer thing though - no faceups were ever done....
  
• work on my sewing skills! - ok this one I DID do, I sewed and patterned out quite a few things before mid summer.
  
• work on my eye making skills! - same here! I experimented with new iris making techniques, and managed to get a ton of bases cast before the winter really sets in.
  
• beef up my 3D modelling skills! i really want to 3d print more props. - I've accomplished more than I realized here! I should post more though......however, no actual props were made. Just shoe lasts, heel bases, and dolls.
  
• get back to working on my head sculpt. - I transitioned this to digital sculpting, since I realized early on in the year I wasn't going to be able to have space to work on it physically. Happy to say I've modeled a few good bases that I'll eventually print and finish sculpting on manually.
  
• l also want to get deeper into resin casting. - Separated this out. Again, space issues, and by deeper into resin casting I really meant "get a pressure pot". Not sure why January me thought that'd happen this year???

We DID end up closing on the house, so most of my doll activities that aren't small things like knitting or pattern planning/digital sculpting that can be done on work breaks or in the car or whatever have been on hold since August, and probably will be until November. So pivoting my list to Doll Display!

• Decide where in the house will be the Doll Area. - technically done :')

• Research cabinets/shelving options

• Measurements

• Building time!!

• Diorama & Decorating time!!

 

I am hoping to sometime within the near future get another doll. I have one right now and I've had her for 2 years at this point. I've been doing some research into other companies and haven't fully decided on what to get yet, but I am excited to make a decision and finally get a second one.
