1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I've done exceptionally well this year restraint wise, having only bought two dolls (DC Barbara re-release forced my hand). If finances allow next year, I'm planning to order quite a few dolls and start working on making my own doll stands, eyes and fantasy parts.

    2. I have a bunch of dolls that need face-ups and shoes, and I keep adding anime style sculpts to my hoard. And maybe make some decisions on my IoS heads which I've had for YEARS and just sort of- I have one body and they've never had face-ups and I need to "fish or cut bait" as it were.

    3. It feels simple but hugely just getting them out of storage and all dressed in appropriate attire would be nice. If everyone could get eyes, wigs, and then faceups that'd be ideal! Now the big kicker would be getting probably a body for a floating head that i've had forever and a new body for a different doll but that will all come down to finances of course.

    4. Hmmm... new goals

      • Sell Chloe head (done)
      • Get my 2 KID dolls painted (one sent, one paid for and not yet sent)
      • Figure out what's happening with the rest of my collection... (this did NOT happen)

Seems like chaos is the rule and not the exception right now! Maybe I need to think more on my 2023 goals.

    5. @Thespian Oooh insurance sounds like a good idea. How would we even do that?

    6. Oh, I didn't complete those from the previous year and I already have to make a new list? :D Love the topic anyway, helps to stay focused and marks my 'achievements' later throughout the year! :)

So, since I have done *something* last year, I want to continue some of the projects and plans I had for 2021 in 2022 :)

      1. Use up *all* fabric to produce dolly clothes. And the majority of sewing supplies. And I mean, *use* not *give away*. We'll see... Jul 1: I have used up *some* fabric. I might use it up by the end of the year, we'll see :) Dec 9: I have used about 15% of all the fabric that I have. It's been fun. It should take another 6 months at least to go through all the fabrics, but I'm enjoying the process. I have made many cute overcoat, tops and a few others. I still need some pants, tops, and lingerie/underwear. Aaand period dresses.

      2. Downzsize on my collection again. I had promised to keep only a handful and here I am at 6 dolls again. This is ridiculous!!! I am ridiculous... Jul 1: I have sold one doll and now have 5. COOL :D Dec 9: I have rebought another doll body and awaiting three more heads. That didn't age well...

      3. Take my dolls out more often during the spring/summer/autumn season. Winter's too damn cold and my fingers freeze by the camera Jul 1: I took my dolls out about twice already and I took a few more crappy pics, which is COOL :D Dec 9: Since the last time I mentioned here I didn't take my dolls out. Well... But I took some cute pics regardless. I focused more on crafting. Aaand passing my pre-defence exams!

      4. Create more dolly space by decluttering other non-dolly items. Make sure my dolls are nicely displayed and not bald and naked (light, non-staining wigs are a thing <- a self reminder!) Jul 1: I made some space to place my barbies away from my BJDs, so that both can feel more comfortable now. I need a new plastic box for my BJD clothes though :) It's because I've made so many new clothes for them :D Dec 9: I bought three large plastic containers (29 litres each) and I have even more things than I had before... augh :(

      5. Keep the 'one in, a few out' rule with clothes and accessories. Jul 1: I haven't sold anything yet :( I have acquired a few pairs of shoes since... not many, but a few nonetheless. Like two or so? Dec 9: did anyone say two in one out? Cos if so then I'm good... Oh wait, that wasn't quite the rule... dammit. So I failed. So what. And only two new pairs of shoes recently. But they were super necessary and I'd been looking for something similar for a longer time. Not guilty, super happy actually.

      6. Sew the cool outfits and create complete wardrobes for my girls (and one boy now <3) Jul 1: I haven't done anything for the boy, but I have plans :D And I have made a few nice dresses for the girls yay :D Dec 9: I have already done a few items for the boy. And more for the girls. And a few unisex items. Turns out I'm expecting yet another boy, so a boy wardrobe is a must now!

      UPDATE July 1st (mid-year)
      SUMMARY December 9th (almost end-of-year)

TO CONCLUDE I did a few things, sewed a lot, used up a lot of fabric (still a fraction of what I have). But I feel happy that I have e.g. sewed some pieces that I'd designed literally like 7 or 5 years ago. I've used up a lot of fabric that'd been waiting for me. I have faield a little (theoretically) on keeping my number, but I also have finally made up my mind as to the number of dolls and the look of my collection. I can't wait!

    7. I have a bunch of dolls that need wigs, shoes, outfit, faceups... I've said same thing last year, but I do not want to buy new dolls for 2022. I'd like to work on those I already have.
Alas, if it's like 2021, I will have plenty of new dolls at the end of 2022! :doh

    8. Almost since the first year I have been trying to convince myself that I don't need to own every doll that I fall in love with. That was my vote (buy no new dolls)

During these past 2 years I have been buying dolls as if the world were going to end and I wanted as much company as possible to be with me for that. I just sent out $$$ for latest (last purchase) ha ha

Making for dolls is my daily pleasure so I hope that continues for a whole new year. I call it "practicing art" so that I let myself try new things and don't get upset about failures...

I have a desire that all my dolls should own a pair of wings ( not to mention a pair of shoes)

I want to know the names of them all as well

      and hold them every day.

and enjoy Den of Angels xoxo

    9. I feel that despite getting my new DSLR, I haven't taken as many pictures of my dolls than I originally thought I would. So I plan to take more pictures especially since my Miwa came home a couple months ago and I have a few other dolls incoming in the next few months. In addition, I plan to try learning new skills so I can make more things for my dolls and just getting back into doing more art. So here's to hoping the next year is better :)

    10. My plans are for somehow getting my hands on a Pukifee. Ideally I want a girl AND a boy, but I neeeeeed a little girl. The face, those ears, there's just not been any other doll in that size even half as pretty as the Pukifee. I want one :...(

    11. I voted for not to buy any new dolls next year. I have so many! I don’t know if I can actually not buy any….I’m going to try really hard though. Two things I am going to do is sort and trim down my collection, and make sure the dolls that are staying are complete enough (wig, eyes, outfit, shoes). Then I can focus on making/buying the items to make my collection closer to my vision. I’ve already bought two limited dolls this month, thankfully they are this year, lol.

    12. I really need to buy clothes for my girl, but it's going to have to wait until after Christmas is over so that I can swing gifts for my family, haha. It will inevitably be pushed to 2022! Luckily, she has her wig and eyes already, and a nice silk robe as a substitute until I can actually get what I have in mind for her.

I also plan to buy one or two more dolls next year as well! But I expect it's going to take a lot of time before I eventually decide, what with character development and shopping around for models and whatnot.

    13. I have three (3!) unpainted dolls who I would like to give faceups to before March, but I think my biggest goal for next year is to learn to sew some clothes. I can use a sewing machine, and I have some fabric.. I'm just really out of practice and have been putting it off.

It's so interesting reading about other people's plans, I am sending out big getting things done/completion energy to everyone ^^

    14. 1) I have my KDF Rika on preorder and should hopefully receive her by January or February. She'll be the first doll I've ordered blank so I'm planning to start learning how to do faceups!

      2) I recently bought a bunch of new patterns for making doll clothes and can't wait to try them out. I'm still a beginner at sewing but I hope to improve my skills next year.

      3) I want to learn how to do sewn wigs. Right not I only know how to make yarn wigs with glue, but sewn wigs seem so much cleaner, so I'm excited to learn it.

      4) Finally, I'm starting to sculpt my own dolls. It's something I've wanted to do for a while now and now I'm making them as a project for my senior art show.

    15. I have several dolls that need faceups, blushing or both! We had a rainy and humid summer so I didn't get as much done as I planned to this year. Additionally, I'd like to buy some new clothes for a few of my dolls and possibly some nicer eyes for some of them? I have one incoming that will likely need a whole outfit so I have to figure that out before he appears in...3 months or whatever it is.

There are two heads I'm considering buying for spare bodies I have but that's more in the 'maybe' category for next year. I'll be happy if I can manage the faceups, honestly!

    16. I have a lot of things I'd like to do, but whether or not they actually get done depends on if life chills tf out and lets me do them.

      • Finally receive my Dollshe orders from 2019 (though, that depends on Dollshe/the dealer/shipping company and not me)
      • Finish paying off Impldoll and Ringdoll layaways
      • Get bodies for floating heads (probably not all of them, since there's like 19 of them, but a few would be nice lol)
      • Get the dolls needed for more important characters of mine (I'd like to at least get the Doll Chateau Dolores I need and a white Soom Chrom. And maybe a real/brown skin Iplehouse EID Carina, or a girl I like just as much, so I can finally finish my band lol)
      • Paint any dolls I don't get painted this year
      • Make/buy wigs/eyes for dolls that still need their proper wigs and eyes. Some are odd sizes/colors that I can't seem to find, so I'll have to make them (which means buying the materials in some cases)
      • Relearn to sew and make clothes for the ones that need clothes I can't find anywhere. And just sew some basics for the ones that can't share with the others.
      • Make/buy more accessories/props
      • Buy more shoes/boots. Or learn to make them, but I'd rather buy them than go down that rabbit hole lmao
Honestly, there's probably more. But I think I'll do good to just get a couple of the easier things on this list done lol

    17. I desperately want to get back to sewing for my dolls. I was a seamstress for a living for 35 years, so I have the skills, but arthritis as well as nerve damage from neuropathy has made it difficult and painful to work on small things. The nerve damage also causes my hands to shake. Very frustrating. But I am determined to get back to doing what I love, even if the results are not as well done as it used to be.

    18. 1) Get organized. My doll closet is doubling as a Christmas gift storage closet right now, so hopefully after the holidays I’ll be able to actually get in there.

      2) Get more clothes! I got rid of most of the clothes I had this year and haven’t replaced them, so wardrobes are pretty small right now. I sew and would LOVE to make more clothes, but I just don’t have much down time right now.

      3) Actually sell stuff. I have an MSD and box full of stuff set aside to sell, I just need to get around to getting it all listed.

      4) Get ONLY one doll. After telling myself I only needed two SDs for a decade, I’ve decided to get two more. I’m not sure which one I will get first, but I’m hoping to just stick to one!

    19. 1) Sell a doll I'm really not vibing with

      2) Expand my Volks wig, clothing, and accessories collection!

      3) Maybe pick up another Comibaby Cutie ❤

      4) Maybe jump in on the Luts winter sale??? (Probably will wait or not buy but maybe)

      5) Definitely try to pick up a Comibaby Baby Peridot!

      6) Connect with local collectors

      7) Go to my first convention!
