1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I don't know if I want to buy any new dolls I am really happy with my collection.

The one thing I want to do in the coming new year is take a lot more pictures and work of photo stories. I got the clothing, the dolls, and the backdrops, what I need to do is get to taking the pictures.

    2. Oh, let's see...

      1. Redo my FID Dorias face up. Soon. By now there is not a thing about it that I don't want to adjust.
      2. Acquire 2 dolls from my list. Any 2 will do :3nodding:
      3. Make more jewelry.
      4. Get to learning how to make wigs. For that need to settle on the method first...
      5. Make the 3 lace outfits I planned and bought materials for.
      6. Crochet. A LOT.
      7. Face up and body blush for my Raccoondoll Rosie that is hopefully going to show up early next year.
      8. Pictures.

      Everything else is extra

    3. Good! There's no 'magic number' of dolls. If you are happy with your collection, why change it? It'll give you more money, energy, and focus for those dolls and any clothes / accessories you might want. Plus a nice condensed cast for your photostories. I'll be watching the sub-forum for them. :thumbup

    4. I want to get my grail doll in 2022 but... wait I always have new grail dolls lol

    5. I want to reduce the number of my doll collection. I have around 60 dolls now and it's toooo many. I cant play with everyone which makes the dolls not that interesting.

    6. I’ve got a whole bunch of new dolls (hopefully!) arriving in 2022 that will all need face-ups and dying. I also need to do some touch-ups on my other dolls. But my main plan for 2022 is to NOT buy any other dolls.

      Pipos Rooney- Needs face-up
Dream Valley Bless- Needs face-up and dying (black and purple gradients on body and limbs)
Dream Valley YoSD cat body- Needs dying (all black except for the tails)
      Luts Abadon- Needs face-up
Dream Valley Casia- Needs face-up, wig, clothing, and possible dying?
Dollpamm Diva- Needs face-up and dying (purple hooves and antlers. Light orange fur tufts?)
Dream Valley Chaos- Needs face-up and dying (dark gradients on ears and tail tips and lower legs) and clothing/accessories
Dream Valley Scar- Needs face-up and dying (lilac siamese points)
      Dream Valley Coco- Needs face-up
Dream Valley Rah- Needs face-up/tattoo/scar and sword/sheath/mask made
Aaaand then once everyone’s all prettied up, I need to organize my doll shelf, cuz it’s gettin’ a lil crowded lol. I really hope all these guys will arrive before the end of 2022.

    7. One of my big things for 2022 is to NAME MY DANG DOLLS. I managed to acquire quite a lot this year and since I'm already super slow at naming dolls, most of my collection is currently unnamed. :doh I wish to fix this.

I also have two MSDs that are blank and need face-ups, plus other face ups that I want to tweak, so I need to try that out. I'm not too intimidated by it- I've repainted fashion dolls in the past- but I know this will still be quite different. I also need to send one out for a face up since I want my entire SD crew to have professional face-ups and his is the only one that needs to be reworked.

I need a body for my incoming floating head.

I thiiink I also have a mature tiny coming in for Christmas from my parents, so I'd like to build her a diorama if I can <3

Overall I want to be a little more intentional with my purchases and work on getting my existing dolls more "complete" instead of spending every dollar I can scrape up on new dolls. I was a bit of a revolving door collector this year and while that's not inherently a bad thing and I did enjoy the process, selling resin is stressful and I don't want to keep doing that as much next year.

    8. Well, I’m newish to BJD’s so in 2022 I want to buy a new doll, period (since as of now I have yet to buy/own a BJD)! It’d also be nice to maybe buy a cheap doll or get one second hand to learn some new skills like dyeing and how to do faceups.

I also want to maybe slowly start to get the parts I need to make a hybrid doll of an original character of mine!

    9. I just logged in for the first time in a long time and saw I got a trophy for being a member for 14 years haha
My plans for 2022 include getting acquainted with the ABJD hobby community in New Mexico, taking inventory of my collection, and selling off most of my stuff.
My interest in dolls has dwindled a lot over time and I have become busy with other aspects of my life. I also moved away from most of the other hobby people I knew. Partly due to interest and mostly due to pandemic, I have not gotten involved with any groups where I live now. I would like to learn more about the local hobbyists to see if there are ABJD spaces here that could provide a good artistic outlet. I would also like to take a full inventory of what I have and the condition of everything. I sold off and gave away a lot of stuff before I moved, but I still have a whole bunch of dolls, and they are just taking up space at this point. Lastly, I would like to sell off MOST of my dolls and accessories. I think getting rid of most of my stuff may allow me to enjoy the favorites in my current collection and give me space to imagine what I want to do with the hobby going forward whether that is very small-scale collecting and getting back into doing faceups or just working on a way to preserve and display the dolls I choose to keep in the end.

    10. In 2022 I really want to buy a full set and/or a FCS straight from Volks. Currently I’m easing my way back into the hobby by adopting some very old sculpts I was interested in about 10 years or more ago, but I’d really like a brand new doll. My first bjd was a FCS ordered in California before the Volks store there closed, and I think it’d be cool to come back around to another brand new FCS.
Other than that, I want to make sure everyone in my current collection has shoes (lol), get a few wigs that will fit their characters better, and just in general be a better doll owner. In my youth I was reckless with them and bought and sold them quickly as my whims changed or I needed money. Now I’ve mellowed out, have a more stable life and mental health situation, and feel I can be a better owner to these beautiful dolls.

    11. The goals for 2022:

      1. No new dolls! We're done! There is only so much space for boxes and stuff, and I think I'm already going from 0 to 5 in the course of 12 months as it is. (My only consolation is I picked up an off-topic one I count in my BJD crew for dirt cheap.) Thankfully I don't have an interest in most doll releases, it's just the small like, one person operation, niche art style ones I have to watch out for. And secondhand mini Dollshes, but that can be avoided by going "spite against Mr. Dollshe is not a good reason to get a doll, even if they are pretty."

      2. Shoes for everyone. I only have two pairs. No bare tootsies by the end of next year. Probably mostly boots, sneakers, and other things where, if it doesn't fit 100% right, it's fine. Whatever. It's fine. I'll knit socks to fill in the bulk. It's fine.

      3. Hanfu for Tian Ni. Probably the main single item purchase. I might try to sew one myself, but I want at least one for her done right.

      4. Try faceups? I've done some on small playline dolls before but never my BJDs. I might put the Christmas Amazon gift cards to getting proper faceup supplies and giving it a go. I have some relatively minor edits to make to at least one doll as it is.

      5. Improve my sewing. I think the next step is to try a button-down shirt. Maybe jeans or other more detailed pants, since everyone needs more damn pants. And developing my patience so that a mistake won't sink a project entirely.

    12. I want to get a few dolls into my collection this year, and really build up the accessories for them! I would love to get to practice sewing this year for certain!

    13. My goals for 2022 are (in no particular order):

      - Clean up my collection by selling the dolls I don't get as much enjoyment from, or that don't fit as well with my others.

      - No buying dolls! I want to spend more time enjoying and spoiling the ones I currently have (plus the two on the way, heh). Maybe later in the year I could allow myself something, but I have to weigh the pros and cons of any more purchases very carefully.

      - Put together a diorama for photography, and decoration. I'd really like to put together a little shelf with furniture and decorations in it for my 1/4 scale crew. I currently plan on getting an Ikea shelving unit with glass doors (to protect from my cats), and having three different "floors" of furniture.

      - Take photos more often! I'd also just like to take my dolls out of their boxes more regularly, even without a purpose, just to enjoy looking at and fiddling with them. I think I generally treat them too carefully.

      - Design and Sew outfits with the help of my mom. I really like the idea of designing clothes for my dolls, and my mom enjoys sewing things, so we're going to work together to make some cute outfits! Maybe we'll even end up opening an online shop once we get the hang of things.

      - Give faceups to the newest additions! I've been putting off giving my two newest girls (Dust of Dolls Chae and Byol) faceups for a little bit, because I've been distracted by other things. I'd like to get to work on those once the holiday season dies down a bit more. My biggest doll (The Voice Ye You) will also need a faceup when he arrives, but that will be later in the year.

      - Buy more shoes, specifically for my dolls that don't have nicely fitting ones, or have very outfit-specific shoes. Currently they each only have one pair, if any. More wigs and other accessories might get added to the list later on, depending on budgeting.

    14. I don't want to buy any unplanned doll (and I only have one left that is planned though I am also waiting for the company to make a male body) but I would love to sew and craft more for my dolls! That would imply that I do have time though. XD

    15. Some of my most ambitious plans for 2021 actually came through!
You can check our last year's list here

My doll plans for 2022 are:
      • get an oldskin BW solid-torso body for Shimo
      • get a VOLKS Ian (she got away this year and it's been killing me ever since)
      • get Yumeko new shoes
      • get shoes for my SDGr girl's heel legs
      • twin with Nadeko for some fun pictures
      • go to a meet-up
      • make some BJD videos for YouTube
      • find a name for my SwD Megu
      • get a tan MDD through DreamChoice
Grey means I no longer interested in getting around to these things. Black is a maybe.
Life took a very sudden, life-shattering turn early on in 2022 and honestly I don't have the energy to even think about actually working towards anything.

    16. My doll plans: The toppest is the most priority
      - completing unfinished dolls (clothing, shoes, accessories, wig, face up, body blush)
      - doll maintenance (repair, cleaning, redoing face up, wig or clothes, restring, sueding and wiring)
      - buying bodies for my 20+ floating heads ^^
      - keep chasing some second hand dolls (especially dream of dolls and cp delf)
      - reduce my collection If Possible ^^

    17. I want to have a no buy year and not buy any dolls at all. I would also like to learn to crochet and sew for the dolls I have so I have planned not to buy any clothes for them either. I am skeptical that I can accomplish this, but I left a lot of groups and stopped following the ones I am in so I am not tempted by anything. I also archived all my IG photos and unfollowed all but a few artists that I have orders with so I can follow the updates. I am really going to try hard, especially with not buying dolls because I am also trying to save up for a new car.

    18. My big goal for 2022 is not to buy any more dolls. I have one outstanding order and once that doll arrives, my story group (7 dolls total) should be complete.

      Other goals:
      • Complete faceups on all of my dolls (1 blank currently, plus another blank to arrive) and re-do all faceups from prior to December 2021 (4 dolls to re-do)
      • Finish making at least one full in-character costume for each doll (currently 3 have incomplete costumes, 4 have no costume at all yet)
      • Complete the last 2 custom wigs for my dolls
      • Take more photographs and improve photography and post-processing skills
      • Create doll profiles for all of my dolls
      • Post on Instagram more frequently and consistently
      • Sell all unwanted bodies and heads that I have accumulated
I will be impressed with myself if I manage to finish even half of these tasks next year :whee: I am not renowned for my speed!!

    19. My plan is to not buy any new dolls at all, but I checked off 'buy new dolls', because I know that I will. I am weak. :sweat

    20. I plan to buy some eyes and wigs, and probably some more clothes.
My newest doll needs a stand.
Once better pictures of Volks Elsa come out, I’ll decide if I will try to get her.
I don’t have immediate plans for more dolls in particular this year but want to be prepared in case anyone appears that I fall for.
