Doll plans 2022

Well, my big resolutions is getting everyone a natural fiber wig that is meant to have one (I want to try to use more natural fibers with my doll crafts overall and less plastic, even though this is a very plastics-heavy hobby, due to polyurethane lol), as well as getting at least 1 "appropriate outfit" and shoes for everyone, too. The shoes will be... trickier for the Souldoll Vito I am hoping to order this weekend, though... LOL.

"Doll-acquisition wise," however, my main goals are getting a Souldoll Vito Saka, two Xagadoll Mizzles (for both the open eye & sleeping head, extra body will be used for one of my floating heads), a Harucasting Big Geuru and Geurim, a curvy Myoudoll body for one of my minifee soony heads, annnd maybe some unoa hybrids and a tan minifee sylvia... we will see what the future will bring, as that's a lot of potential dolls, lol, so a lot of budgeting will be done to get even several of them. I think the Haru girls might be the hardest to get? But I finally got a better job and I am no longer a college student, so it will be easier than it was prior to late 2021

I also want to get more male dolls in general, too - right now I have my Withdoll Theo, and I am planning to order Saka soon, but I think I'd also like to get some more Withdoll boys, as well as maybe a Doll Family H Yue Jian/Nan Xing.

If Sicktress releases her MSD Deesse head this year, I am also planning on getting her, and if I do, I hope I can get the courage to dye a body for her within "a reasonable time frame" (aka, ideally within the same year, excluding of course, any potentially issues such as long wait times!) Right now my current body ideas for Deesse is a curvy myou doll body, double jointed supiadoll, or maybe a dollits body... so we will see what the future brings. The fit of the head onto a body will be a big determining factor, too - until you get both pieces, it's hard to say how they will fit together... I've had Souldoll MSD heads fit oddly on the supiadoll body, yet great success with Withdoll heads and the supia body... so it's always a gamble what hybrids are good and possible without modding.

But I think my biggest goal - be it bjds or in general just dolls - is to be a little more active in the craft and photo taking side of things. 2020-2021 were not great years for many of us for many reasons...

 

1. No new blank dolls until everyone here has a faceup.

I don't think any beyond that one is one I can stick to, lol.

 

I need to get better at faceups, and Daliah (myou vieruodis) needs to find a better wig and eyes. She's been hard to fit so far. I also need to work on their dollhouses and make or acquire more furniture.

 

I would like to go through my collection of wigs and eyes and really set my current dolls in stone. I have spontaneously bought whatever eyes and wigs I liked on Etsy and Alice that my dolls seem very mixed matched. I have already bought a doll this year so I would like to also slow down my impulse to get new dolls. I really hate that some of the sculpts I want are limited. ><
A big goal this year is to try my hand at faceups. I now have a couple of blank dolls that are just begging for attention so I want to try that.

 

Mine is to work on dolls that are waiting for years for their customization. I began with my Maskcat Lisette's wig (she had the same old wig since I bought her), and I will continue with some dolls in progress since 2012 or 2014.
That will keep me busy the whole year I fear. I've 12 wig to make, 23 body blushing/tattoos to do, a few faceups to paint, some mods to do, some clothes to sew...

 

For my part:
- I would like to have more outfits for my Tamara (she already has a lot)
- find at least one pair of shoes for my Tauros (because glittery sneakers don't really fit him...) and more clothes
- continue to make Ophelie my own (and see if I'm investing in a crazy wig)
- get a new BJD, but just one if possible ><

But that aside, I want to turn my spare room into a library, with display space for my dolls so they don't have to be crammed in the craft closet anymore.

 

I have slowed down on buying but will buy new dolls if I find something I can’t resist, I’ve gone through my wishlist so there’s nothing I want at the moment. I’m still not happy with the eyes, shoes, and outfits of some of my dolls so I’m planning on working on that this year. I also need to work on photographing them and making doll profiles as well, I only have a couple pictures I really like.

 

I just want to be content with my crew. I am very indecisive and have a revolving door style of collecting, most of my dolls don’t stay with me longer than a year or two at most. This year, I want to try to not buy new dolls (unless I’m reshelling, which I have been thinking about). I may try keeping what I have since no one is currently on the chopping block, but that too can change in a month. Everyone currently has all the clothes and accessories they need, but I will be buying some stuff I just want them to have. Brendan especially will be spoiled this year, since he’s my favorite and a total brat. I would also like to see about new wigs for him and maybe Cooper, though I can’t seem to find exactly what I want.

 

Volks Beth is my goal of 2022, I hope I can have her to be a sister of my Alice. I love twins!!

 

I think my main goal is definitely to learn more about this hobby. I only realized after joining this community how much there is to be aware of! Other than that, I definitely want to get more dolls.

 

This year, I'd love to add to my collection. I find myself more and more intrigued with larger SD sized dolls. I thought I would be fine with just one, until the "one" needs a friend and so on...so definitely adopting a girl SD is on my list. I'd also like to age up one of my characters (currently MSD) into a larger MSD or an SD. So I'm excited to see where these plans go.

 

I probably won't be buying new dolls, but if dolls on my wishlist appear, I'll grab them. Same as last year's goals.

My main goal for 2022, which all my other plans center around, is getting a new job, because if I don't get out of this place I will not have time or energy to do anything doll relates, and a lot of what I will be doing is going to depend on the particulars of the new job. I might have to relocate, and if I can't relocate to a place where I can either have my own crafting room or borrow mom's crafting table (my cats are way too energetic for me to do crafting projects in my current apartment) a lot of my plans might have to be delayed a bit. If I have a crafting space, I want to try to learn to make wigs. If I don't have a crafting space, I'll probably focus on trying to find shoes for all my dolls, because shoes are the one thing I can't easily commission or learn to make myself.

 

One of the dolls I wanted is back on the menu! And with my new job, I should be able to build up a dolly fund for the first time... years? Years. And I want to make a dedicated crafting space so I can spruce up my dolls. Can't wait to unwind into a long term space.

• Sculpt more props.

 

If I buy anything this coming year it will be bodies for floating heads, clothes, eyes, wigs....

 

I want to get back into the hobby. I haven't even changed my dolls' clothes in years, let alone anything else. I used to enjoy this hobby so much, and I'd like to try and recapture some of that. So my goals are to restring, suede, and wire 3 dolls, buy some new shoes and clothes, make a set of wings, and take photos again. Oh, and the unlikely goal of finding a type 1 delf girl body for my juri05.

 

My plans for this year encompass a lot of different aspects, but I haven’t been back into the hobby for very long.

• Pay off Layaways (2)
• Buy clothes, that I like, for everyone
• Buy eyes
• Get faceups for some
• Ponder storylines
• Make more videos

I have basically a completed collection in my eyes, I just need to make everyone look like who they are. I also need to try and come up with a story for at least one of my dolls and put it on paper.
I think this is a very manageable list for one year.

 

My plan for this year was to not buy any dolls since last year was a very good year for dolls. Alas, the company I tend to buy from is doing a collaboration with Disney so it looks like more dolls. Hahaha. Hopefully, next year no interesting collaborations. Watch, it'll be for an anime/manga series I really like or something I least expect but want. *le sighs* Would like to get more doll stands though so maybe I'll invest in those this year too. But yes, at least two dolls that I'm aware of once they are available. Hehe.

 

This year is when all my doll purchases from last year will be coming home! One is home, three more to go. (And.. two heads…) I need to:

• Buy more varieties of clothes. I’ve only one set of clothes in hand for each doll, but they’re similar in design.
  
• Venture into trying faceups! Only if I’m really adventurous, in the second half of the year..
  
• make accessories and props. Books and bookshelves are on the list; maybe resin kitchenware
• Attempt to trial and error restring my first doll in these two months before going all out for the rest who are coming in and will likely need the same treatment
• Make the customized resin eyes that I had in mind …
• Actually clear out the designated space I have, to finally assemble the display/storage cabinet for them that’s been in storage too…
