It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. 1. For 2023 I am not planning on buying any dolls. I am going to focus on buying shoes, eyes, and wigs. Also a lot of sewing and trying to make a pair of hockey skates.

    2. It's 2023, and I'm trying to create specific, measurable goals, which means... I need to get started.
In order to focus my attention away from what I don't want to do (buy more dolls), my plans are to focus on what I do want to accomplish:
      1. Face-ups. One complete face-up per month. Practice, practice, practice.
      2. Sewing. One item of clothing per month. For January, I'm going to try the simplest thing I can think of - a T-shirt.
      3. Photography. One photoshoot per month, resulting in one good picture. My Flickr is going to be filled with so much garbage, lol.
      4. Craftorama room: this may take all year and involves painting and moving into the master bedroom, switching desks in my office, and turning the spare bedroom into the painting/sewing/crafting room.
      5. Pay off my (last) layaway for DV Cecillia.
      Oh, and...
      6. A doll buddy of mine wants to save up for Resin Rose in 2024, so we agreed to start a savings goal so we can both go. I wonder if Spouse is going to want to tag along?
One exception to Doll No-Buy 2023 remains if a Fairyland Chicline female body pops up for sale: I still want one. Also, I have one more hybrid option to try for my legit head, and honestly, if this body doesn't work, I'm calling it quits and selling the head.

    3. I would love to learn how to make eyes, practice more with my sewing machine and carry on making faceups.

    4. I hope I can only buy head instead of whole doll this year. I like large doll but their body just took up too much room:...(

    5. I had planned not to buy any dolls in 2023, but I started two layaways at the end of 2022 (a 1/5 Huajing and a Bimong Cocoro), and then Huajing released another beautiful 1/4 girl! So, I also have her on layaway. But that’s got to be it. I need to sort out a couple of face ups and tidy up my finances a bit in case I change jobs this year. I also want to save some funds for when I hopefully attend my first doll convention later in the year. Very excited (and a bit nervous) about that.

    6. I definitely need to get into the habit of sewing more doll clothes, I have 3 dolls and 1 on the way and not one has a full outfit that I like. I'm thinking of challenging myself to do one doll project a month, whether that's sewing outfits, finishing accessories or focusing on those dioramas I start and never finish! We'll see how well that goes.

    7. My 2023 Doll Plans:
:aheartbea Finish customizing my iMda 3.0 Simonne
:apig: Customize my first MSD (Soom Tuff & Sueve)
:aheartbea Take photos of my dolls
:apig: Spoil the 1/6th cuties with new outfits

    8. My current doll plans...

      1. Not buying any more dolls -> I already feel bad when I don't pay enough attention to the dolls I have, and I try to remind myself I don't need "complete the cast" with my dolls. :abambi: Going to give myself a gold star for each month I don't buy a doll LOL -> :goldstar:goldstar:goldstar:goldstar:goldstar:goldstar

Then, my schedule isn't good for creative projects, but...

      2. Work more on faceup practice -> once a month? (January- done! February- cleaned head and sealed it again!)

      3. Create a wig for my DV Dean -> this would be the first wig I'd make, so I'm only planning to make this one to see how things go and how I feel about it. :XD:

      Me-buying-stuff-not-doing-stuff plans:

      4. Commission an outfit for my DV Dean - Completed this!

      5. Commission a faceup for my Luts Maize - Completed this!

      6. Purchase wig for my Muhan's Doll Lamb - Have a wig selected, haven't purchased yet.

    9. Life took a very sudden, life-shattering turn early on in 2022 and honestly I didn't have the energy to even think about actually working towards anything.
You can check last year's list here

My doll plans for 2023 are:
find a name for my SwD Megu (calling this done)
get a VOLKS Ian (June: accomplished thanks to Alexia!)

and the if the opportunity presents itself at the right time:
      ○ go to a meet-up (went to Dolpa50)
      ○ get a tan MDD through DreamChoice
      ○ get a tan PUYOODOLL Kumako Egg #1 or Ruru or Baby Kumako Egg#1 (May: ordered chocolate Ruru straight from PUYOODOLL)

      • Do face-ups on the dolls that need them
      • Learn how to make wigs
      • Learn how to make props, furniture, & dioramas
      • Take more photos
      • Sell any dolls I’m not clicking with and continue curating my collection
      • Be less impulsive when buying dolls and instead prioritize spending money on things that will enhance my enjoyment of my current collection

    10. Buy anime eyes I actually like (I have several pairs and don't like them in the head lol)
Buy a couple nicer outfits for Alexander
      Style some wigs I have
Get proper storage for everything (clothes and wigs)
Take inventory of everything I do have and track it in excel or something
      Take more doll photos!

    11. In 2023 I plan to:
Keep downsizing, Work on repriortizing in general which will inevitably affect my relationship with this hobby. Process my scarcity mentality which will help me let go of what I don't need/want and be happier with what I have easier. Enjoy the love I feel for dolls I have had a long time and feel tender about all these decade birthdays :smallcake

      Keep on: doing some faceups
      Making cool outfits
      Having fun with photography
Play with new fashion ideas and keep developing my characters

    12. I think 2023 will have to be about getting my impulsive buying of new sculpts over with, and focusing on the more artistic side of the hobby. I definitely bought a lot of dolls in 2022, so this year I want to focus on doing face-ups and making clothes/wigs/etc. I am trying to not let myself buy any new dolls until at least half of the blank ones I have are in a much more completed state.

I also think my tastes have been changing away from 1/4 size dolls to smaller, 1/6 sizes so I may also use this year to sell things and refine my collection before letting it get any bigger.

    13. Oh boy, planning, my favourite! Especially when nothing is set in stone. For instance, I planned to not buy any new dolls until I've rehomed a few-- but I've already broken that since I found one that's perfect for a character, oops. Not planning on getting more, though.

I definitely have some crafting to do-- I've got a few dolls that are just hanging around naked and I know what I want them to wear, I just have to make it. Similarly, I'm hoping to get into faceups, at least enough to get my characters their faces (and one needs lots of tattoos, too). I also want to learn some basic modding-- little additive things like fangs or pointed ears. I've thought about trying to make crafting or faceups into an occasional bit of income, too, but I'm not sure I'll be able to get that far anytime soon.

Lastly, and most importantly-- I've really solidified what I want out of this hobby and I've been lurking by myself for too long. I want to get involved! I've already made some friends on a discord server I frequent and I'm hoping I can find a local meetup or two to go to. Oh, and I almost forgot-- I want to start taking cool pictures of my dolls! And of course, some of those might happen at a meet-up :>

    14. Not to be super late to this thread, buut… I’m totally going to be super late to this thread ;D
In the middle of last year, as a part of school, I got a job! Yay! This means I have lots of “hobby money” for everything my parents don’t exactly want to pay for… Which is dolls & dolly stuff specifically :D so this year I want to try and buy more dolly stuff, and craft more dolly stuff.. there are a few materials that I want to get my hands on and mess with. I’ve been sewing but I’m not too good at it, so my resin buddies will have to wait a bit longer before they can get cute clothes ;^_^.
I think this year I want to try a different doll size. My SD is suuper “visible” and really fun to hang out with! I want to buy a MSD because I think they’re a little more “fairy” and less “small human..” Anyway, I haven’t went doll window-shopping for a long time and I forgot how many cool and cute dolls there are.. im overwhelmed @__@
Lastly, I really want to have more fun when customizing! I get pretty nervous when I customize my doll even though we’ve been hanging out for a while now, and I think it would be more fun for the both of us if i was a little less cautious.

    15. I'm super late, since it's half way through January already but why not write something.

My only big plan for this year is to try to do some face ups. This has been my very low-burn hobby for ten years so maybe it's time to try. And I really, really, have to remember to be kind to myself: they won't be perfect.

I also would love to take some more photos. Now that all my dolls have faces and are dressed it shouldn't be as difficult as it is.

Also also... maybe I could buy a doll or two? Maybe? If I find some real treasures second hand.

    16. My plan for 2023 was to get one doll and focus on props/clothes/accessories and I just got my one doll this morning (probably going to get more if I can afford it though :eusa_sile)
Now I just want to collect more clothes and shoes for my dolls in the meantime.

    17. ...oh boy has this already changed. Long story short, I've got some doll plans burning a hole in my skull and have some income squared away, so I've got a couple of orders to make soon :D;;

Still planning on more crafting and hoping to make friends and be more active and take photos and all that-- but... yeah, I should know better in this hobby. There are sales. I have plans that the sales will help with. I can't pass that up.

    18. I went on a doll buying frenzy in the second half of last year. I found it a little strange given it took me 18 months to go from 1 doll to 2 dolls. On the other hand I did much the same with Lego in the first half of last year.

I'm trying to slow down and focus on styling and more mundane issues like ensuring everybody has a nice wig and a bodysuit.

I do want one particular Dollfie, who is the sidekick of a girl I already have. There's also quite a few smaller Azones I want, and I'll probably try to pick them up if any good Dollfie outfits appear on Mandarake.
