1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Doll Wedding/Marriage?

May 6, 2007

    1. It would be something fun, invite friends of the dolls have cake, decoration, make a photo album ..... if someone is doing this wedding invite me.

At home, Erick (Don Ringdoll), Hwang Lee (Luke # 1 Dream Of Doll) Hana Kiori (Cherie Iplehouse) Kalishi (head or Eris Doll / impldoll body) and head of Tae (souldoll)

    2. I'd probably only do a wedding if I were making it into a photostory or gallery. However, I'd probably just do it by my lonesome, rather than have people over.

    3. I would so do this XD just because i think it would be fun and such ^_^ i like the idea of two doll owners haveing dolls that are in a relationship i think it gives the owners to bond as friends ^__^! And i would do the whole deal xD though would be a bit costly @_@.....

    4. I'm not sure if many of you have seen it, but there was a hilarious BJD wedding on YouTube! :D
It's def something I would go to. It's all in good fun and you get to eat cake, heck yea!

      Here is the video!:

    5. This has been such a fascinating thread for me. When I decided I need a doll (I don't have one yet), it was because I thought, wow I'd love to make beautiful clothes in attainable sizes that I love, but would be impractical to make for myself or to actually wear. And now I'm seeing that there can be a whole other side to it, which fascinates me.

    6. I think doll weddings can be a basis for really gorgeous photos or related photo-stories. I wouldn't arrange a doll wedding as an actual event, however, nor would I attend one. I just can't really make myself take a doll marriage seriously enough for an event.

    7. I could see this being a fun theme for a meet, but I would not have a wedding with a priest and invite friends and family. If I did this, it would be a RP thing or a joke... both most likely.

    8. I HAVE done this! :D

I've had a few rp weddings, but as far as actual doll wedding---yes!

Last summer, my boy Hansel and Ivory Stardust's boy Quinn got married. We invited 5 other friends with dolls that we often rp with online, but turned it into one big giant weekend event! We had attendants and guests. We had a flower girl and ring bearer. I made the rings! The ceremony was performed by Blake, my RD Shao, who was an angel character. We made real cupcakes for everybody and a mini wedding cake for dolly pix. We had songs for them, even wrote out what the wedding vows would be! I set up a "stage" for the wedding, and the theme was hearts and clubs. We even had a "bachelor party' before it. We went ALL out with it! And it was awesome!

It really was more of a dollmeet/photo shoot than anything, but now, almost a year later, the two are still "happily married" and have a baby on the way. :P

    9. 0///0 ...........must do this for my gaku and kari once i finally get kari!!!

    10. Aw! That's adorable! I love the little cake!

    11. I would probably do a wedding themed photoshoot one day and maybe with my friends, but not a big dollmeet though.

I'd love to do a wedding dress and all those cute formal wear! And use flower etc

    12. My dolls went to a doll wedding reception meet up. It was fun! My minis were climbing all over the mecha angel (Because little kids dancing with their taller relatives at weddings is always funny.)

    13. Well, I do have a doll planned to be the andriod wife of a doll I currently have..... they are going to live happily ever after and have toaster babies. :)

I think someday, after I've had both dolls for a while, I might do a small ceremony meetup with friends and lots of photos. The only thing I can't get around is how strange my dolls would look with wedding bands..... but if I was gonna marry them, I'd do it, the dress and suit, a cake (for humans), everything. They'd have the wedding bands for sure! But it would look so weird! At least it does in my head..... Maybe someday I'll feel differently.

    14. Do you have a picture - that sounds adorable!

And I always saw it as two characters getting married, thus making a good excuse to make fancy clothes, organize a meet, and take nice pics.

    15. LOL YES! I and very very likely to do this eventually. Not to a big extent. I will mostly just do it for a photoshoot. But I'd have a cake and an arch and make them an outfit. And then I'd take a BUNCH of pictures! It would be cute xD

    16. I support doll marriages and weddings and their reenactment in meet ups as well as photoshoots. I have attended several meet up weddings and they are a fun way to get to know other doll collectors and new dolls.

I have seen collectors come up with invitations and even order new outfit specially for the event.

    17. Definitely a fun meet up idea. But I wouldn't take it seriously enough to have real ministers and stuff like that.

    18. Brennalarose - thanks!

      Swivelchair
      - several of mine have wedding bands, I don't think they look weird. :) Hansel/Quinn, Amir/Mikko, Amir/Quinn (they're poly), Loki/Spencer, Jayson/Gunnar.....Claire has an engagement ring.

Gus251 - I did use real invitations for Hansel and Quinn's wedding. I had used those "print your own" save the date cards from Wal-Mart for my own wedding and had a stack left over, so used them for Hansel and Quinn and mailed them out with instructions on how to get to my house, the date, time, etc. :P

    19. No. Way. I'm just too private about my dolls to ever want to do something like that. Not to mention, I'd feel like I was having a playdate and at *almost* 22 years of age, I think I still take myself too seriously to stand it. XD

I say, power to you if you want to though! I personally just know I'm not brave enough to take a doll out of the house let alone a bunch of them, all together.. dressed up, with other people around.. *hyperventilating*

    20. I don't know if I would go so far as to invite anyone except my girlfriend but I would be one to stage an elaborate photo shoot and because I love to bake, make a cake as well, but also one out of clay.
