That Python is very charming!

 

Your Python looks gorgeous! I love photos of the Dollclans guys, but maybe they're just not for me? It's the first time I've opened a doll box and not fallen in love. I don't think I'm going to get used to him. Partly that's because he's just not right for the character he's supposed to be and none of the wigs I've got suit him at all! I think he'd make a stunning girl though - if I needed a girl

I've just been looking at the photos on the Dollclans site again and I still think he looks gorgeous - in photos! Ack.

I'm kind of worried now because I have a Jaquer head on order as well - expensive mistake part 2? Eeeep.

 

Hehe thanks @stuartsmycat @petiteballerine !!! At first he didn't look anywhere near hot or sexy....so disappointed you know, i don't have mood to even touch him....T__T.... But i m so glad everyting worked out now....hehehehe!!

OMG SERIOUS?!!! I also have a jaquer head otw too!!!!! N i was so worried when i fell out of love with python at first!!! They always looks awesome in photos cos of their makeup and hair n clothes!!
Sometines you will feel like they cheated your feelings when they are so different from what was shown in the photos right~?!




Thank u so much for yr compliment @skyealloway !! @batchculture both of them are in normal skin colour! From photos the resin doesn't seem different but in person the difference is quite obvious....python is a tad paler than the akagidoll body....

I feel so frustrated! I am actually going insane trying to settle on a body for my incoming Jaquer head. I have done so much research and studied so many photos and I still have no idea. Also, it's my first time dealing with a doll hybrid and my first DollClans purchase. I think I just have to stop. If he's a floating head for a year, then so be it.

 

stuartsmycat - Don't worry, you're not the only one with problem in finding a good body. I've got my Kien for two years and I still didn't find him the perfect body XP I tried some, and recently I sold one that he had, so now searching start from the beginning...

I also have a wig question. Does any of you use Leeke wig for Kien? I'm wondering if I should get 7-8 or 8-9, because that one that I have at home supposed to be 8-9, but it's way to big for him... hmmm...

Maybe someone have Leeke wigs and Kien and could check this for me this? I would be very grateful

 

I have a Leeke wig for Kien... Three or four different ones I tried on him. NONE of them fit well. The 7-8 he has on now is stretched super tight on his head and pops off easy. The 8-9 ones are all super loose, even with a wig cap. I think one of the wigs I got from Iplehouse, sized to fit an SID girl, actually fits him, but I'm not sure and can't check at the moment. I really need to try shopping from a different company for him.

 

I spent so many hours trying to find the perfect (and affordable) body for Dollclans heads too! I couldn't find enough information that I needed and eventually I just crossed my fingers and went for a Doll Leaves 67cm body. It's not perfect, but the resin match is fairly close - the Dollclans head is a bit darker, but it actually looks very close in real life, less close in photos. I think it would be Ok with clothes. The neck is a bit gappy for me, but I'm hugely fussy about necks. I don't even like that I can see the neck line on the body's own head and that's a perfect fit obviously! With a longer wig it would probably be Ok for me.

The kind of funny side effect is that the body came with a free head in their summer event and I fell in love with it! Hehe.

 

Actually python is also my first ever dollclans and hybrid doll..i searched alot n reserched like mad and i saw that there are people who used loongsoul body with dollclans head....i just pray that different batch doesn't have colour difference and tat it still match.... Fingers crossed!!
Also noticed people hybrid it with popodoll body and it kinda fit!!

I ordered my Jaquer head without the face up so maybe I'll like him better.

I'm trying to get to like my Wyper, but it's not going well. I still can't figure out exactly what it is I don't like. I wasn't expecting the lashes, I didn't notice them in the photos for some reason, but I don't want to go changing anything as I'm not planning to keep him at the moment. I feel kind of bad for this poor head actually, rather than cheated. He deserves to be loved, poor guy. It's not his fault!

 

I actually shared the same sentiments as people who first fell out of love with their dolls when they first received it. I also fell out of love with my Kien when he arrived. I kept worrying that he doesn't work for the character I planned for him to be. I'm still working on his new face up now so hopefully he will be a keeper because I really love his promotional photos.

 

Awww man!!!! Its not your fault...maybe just think awhile more before deciding to give him up to be adopted?? But i understan yr pain...not being able to fall in love wit something you bought....

I was madly in love with Phython when I ordered him and eagerly awaited his arrival. I fell out of love with him the moment he arrived too. It just didn't seem the same head. I'm sure with a different faceup, it would have been better, but I ended up selling mine. I think in the future I would probably get him again and try something else with him. I loved Kien tho, I would like to get him again too.

 

Awww i m so sorry to hear that!!! Its so weird so many people fall out of love with dollclans dolls...hmmm...

I think part of it is they offer different faceups from what they advertise the dolls with. And they always look so cool, and I figured that what they offered for a faceup instead would still be okay because the doll looked so amazing otherwise. Also, I was surprised by how narrow the heads were. I still love dollclans, I think they are a great company, and there are other heads I will want to get eventually. But at the moment, I'm on a downsizing spree xD

 

I think part of the problem is the heads photograph so well! I even like the photos I've taken of my Wyper head much more than I actually like him in person.... which is weird. The photos of the company face up I got are lighter and less gothy so I think that did make a bit of a difference.

Yes - their heads are so narrow! I can see why they had wigs specifically to fit these heads on the website. Nothing I've got is the right shape at all.

 

Ah...so I wasn't the only one? When I first got my Phython I was like, "What!? This isn't Phython!" Then I realized that his chin was way longer than in the pictures coz they had him wearing something that hid his chin. I've since learned to do the same until I can work up the guts to mod his chin. He's perfect for the character and I haven't come across anyone else that's remotely close.

Anyways, if anyone has a Supergem body (65cm) they can use that on him. The new body is better in proportion than the old body but both their necks are a perfect fit. Can't vouch for the resin coz all the NS resin for Soom is different but if you get a yellower Soom resin, that should be pretty close. I've heard people put their ULine heads on popodoll and being a good fit in both size and resin.

Also, Phython's head is actually 8" (I measured). The head is also egg-shaped so a 7-8" wig will have a hard time hanging on. It's best to use a 8-9" wig and a silicon headcap.

I figured while I've still got his head on a body I should add some photos for resin and size comparison in case anyone's interested.

This is on the Doll Leaves 70cm boy (he's actually 67cm) in Normal Skin. Resin match is actually quite good, the Dollclans resin is a bit darker.
