I hear you, GW. Shoot, the Dolpas and owner appreciation events never seem to end (except in California... ). It was that way with the original Saber. I really wanted to get her, but oh that price tag... Since I normal don't dress up my DDs in their default outfits, except for cons, all that armor would have gone to waste. Lo and behold, they released Saber-Alter (which I think is a much much prettier doll), which I was able to afford.

Speaking of "armor", I just remember that I bought one of those chain-mail "warrior" bikinis last year. Hmmmm, I wonder if they will fit a DDdy???

Does Escalayer look to you guys like she has normal skin color or white skin color?

I'm thinking of asking a friend to enter the lottery for her *if* her head can be put onto a DD2 body. I only want her head (and maybe wig) tho as I don't like the OMG huge boobs... and love the DD2 outfits.

Just be forewarned, I own two DDdy, and four of the outfits, and trust me, they (the outfits) practically fall off the regular DDs (even the LB ones). Seeing that Escalayer's top is a strapless bodice, there's a chance that you might not be able to get it to "stay on" a DD, without using some Hollywood/toupee tape. Also, if it's a two-piece (skirt and blouse), the DDdy has wider hips (CCU can attest to this too), and the DDdy skirts will fall off a normal DD.

As far as the head goes, it is the same saze and is secured the same way as a DD, so head-swapping between a Normal-skinned DD and DDdy is not a problem.

These measurements may not be "dead-on", but they're close. I'm a guy, and I'm not used to "sizing up" women...

After seeing more pics, I'm actually not so in love with her any more. Her face and mouth look kinda odd from some angles.

 

DDDy can fit at least some Azone clothes, just FYI.

 

Oooh, I actually like Escalayer better after seeing those pics! She seems to have more character than I originally thought! I thought her expression wouldn't change, but in some photos she's smiling, in some she's shouting, in others she looks surprised, like she's gasping! Damn... I think my fate might have been sealed!

Good luck to anyone who enters ^^. 'd love to see cutesome owner pics. I've decided to pass on her and I'm getting dd Marya instead, but I still wanna see more Escalayer.

 

This is somewhat of a random post but I would really like to know something and I think you guys are the ones who can help me best.

The DD Kanu is my ultimate dream doll and I would give anything to have her someday. However, I have no idea how much she would cost now/in the future or how I would find her for purchase. I guess my only option would be to find her on Yahoo Japan and use a shopping service to purchase her? I know that's a very expensive process... I hope Kanu isn't super rare and hard to find, and expensive.

If anyone can answer my questions, I'd be really grateful.

 

There's currently a "Buy it now" listing going on on Yahoo Japan for 63,980 Y. There was a Kanu on eBay a few days ago that was purchased for about $1100. It's probably only that high because we never received a domestic release which artificially restricted supply.

Fortunately for you, Dollfie Dreams are not as high in demand as the resin dolls in general so the prices will probably remain stable and hover around $1k... if you can find it. Naturally, the best prices and availability (Yahoo Japan auctions) require you to use a shipping service. I use this one. (The fees are pretty cheap and the service is adequate.)

Nowadays, most of the cost is gonna be from the strong yen. Currently about 91 yen to the dollar. A shipping service will make this worse still. (Mine uses current-4 to protect themselves from fluctuations. So today it'd be 87.)

 

A couple of shots (from the DoA galleries) of my two Dddy girls is non-DDdy outfits. For those who are thinking about getting one, finding outfits that fit will prove to be a challenge, but it's not impossible.
