1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollmaster movie

Aug 23, 2004

    1. Rlx... at first I couldn't watch it too... like............. I was so afraid of geting afraid that I couldn't... but at the end... it was not bad at all.... not scary... o.o'
Just... don't be afraid of geting afraid and everything will be alllllriiiiight!

    2. I've watched this movie a long time ago but after hearing from you
guys, I want to watch it again.!!!
the girl that played main role (Mina's previous owner) was in another
horror movie "the Phone", now that was really scarry. (irrelevant since
it has nothing to do wiht bjd -__-;;;)

    3. Interesting news that they will be doing an English remake. I wonder if they will be using Custom House dolls? It would be really lame if they didn't. Imagine if they tried to use Barbie and Ken instead of St Mina and Damien. [IMG]

    4. It doesn't really matter what kind of dolls they use, since the BJD factor of St. Mina and St. Demian aren't -that- important to the storyline. I mean, ultimately it's about creepy mannikin sized dolls coming to life and killing people, not pretty Custom House BJDs.

    5. POSSIBLE SPOILER INFORMATION

Really? I think it does matter what dolls are used since the dolls are the protagonists in this story. To me the movie was not about 'creepy manikin sized dolls coming to life and killing people" nor was it about "pretty Custom House BJDs It was about how very loved dolls have a soul. Both St Mina and Damien were portrayed as having a soul and St Mina turned homicidal as a result of being abandoned by her owner. Of course, obviously they could use other dolls for the roles of St Mina and Damien, but to me it is more believable that a BJD has a soul than Barbie, for example. That's all I was saying. I think it is more likely that Custom House dolls will not be used. It will be interesting to see what dolls they do use instead and how it affects the story either positively or negatively.

    6. whoo um actually bro lil brother found this out. he some searching into this and found out the entire story. Leech Woman was his wife/

    7. Again, I don't see where the brand or type of doll used makes a difference. Obviously they wouldn't use Barbie, being that she -is- a different type of doll, but in the whole context of dolls having souls and whatnot, I don't think it would matter if they used a BJD or an American Girl or Cabbage Patch Kid or whatever. Most little girls have a doll that's special to them, and that's what they want to play on.. not what type of doll is more lifelike.

      Or something. ^_^

    8. Yes, I understand that you don't think it makes a difference what doll is used. I get that. However, I feel differently about it. To me it does make a difference. I wound not like an American Girl or Cabbage Patch doll used. Too much like the Chucky movies that have already been done and done. I don't get your point that a Barbie is a different type of doll than a Cabbage Patch or American Girl doll. [IMG] I see no difference there. The use of the more lifelike BJDs in this movie gave the dolls an added dimension and mystique for me, than just using any doll. Maybe for you and for other people as well, the movie would be the same if a Cabbage Patch doll or a Barbie doll was used as the St Mina character. You may be right there and in the end, when all is said and done, I suspect that I probably will prefer the orginal version of Dollmaster with the Custom House dolls, but I look forward to seeing what this new version is like anyway. 9. Wah, I want to see this movie so much!!
I know someone that has a copy...I just have yet to steal it from them.

      If something bad happens to St.Demian though, I'm going to cry. ;_;

      *huggles Demian*

    10. There's no need to be upset?

What I meant by Barbies being different is that Barbie sort of has a set storyline, I guess. When I was little, my Barbies were vastly different from my CPKs, who were more like my babies.

Anyway, this is all pointless speculation since there's not even been any confirmation that Miramax will even make a movie. Sorry to have offended you so much.

    11. Did I sound upset? Sorry about that. I don't get upset over a movie. I just thought we were having an interesting discussion with differing opinions on the subject. My bad. Nevermind then. [IMG]

    12. I picked up a copy of "Dollmaster" on ebay for 4.99 from a dealer in the US, region 1. The subtitles crap out in the last 5 minutes, pretty much like everyone else's, still though, it's not difficult to follow. I believe there is another thread with the translation of the missing part on it here. I have heared there is another vresion widely available that has lots of cool extras, including a behind the scenes of the making of the dolls, interviews with the doll artists etc. Anyone seen this one?
My friends & I have watched it, loved it and are planning a party to show it again. :D None of us have a large BJD as yet, but we're looking. I want a Bermann and a Lishe (right now), although St. Mina is beautiful!!! She is the original one I really really wanted. Help! I'm indecisive/

    13. Just to add my tuppence...

My friend/roomie, Ms. Deth, bought the import version of Dollmaster awhile back... the subtitles crapped out in the last few minutes, as has already been mentioned, but it's still easy to follow the plot.

Do I think it's a great film? No. Did I enjoy it, especially with the added bonus of CH dolls in the background? YES! :D

A friend of mine works at Blockbuster, & says that they've just recently gotten a copy of DM in. I haven't seen it, yet, so I can't say for sure if this is an actual domestic release, or just a re-release of the Korean version that comic/toy dealers were selling months ago... but if you guys haven't been able to find the movie, yet, you might want to check your local Blockbuster/Gamerush & see what they've got.

All I want to know, really, is why CH didn't release a St. Mina in her red dress...?

    14. And off I go to download this movie o.o I'll post my thoughts on it when I manage to find/watch. The discussions have intrigued me

    15. Not sure if I should post it here  .. but I gotta get this off my chest... Okay... so I just watched a Korean BJD scary movie called "The DOLL Master" It's about a scultptor named Hemi and about four other people that was invited to a gallery of BJD... they were asked to pose to be doll models.. they were all excited except that people started dying... so.. yep.. the movie was not so great.. but there are soo many beautiful BJD in it... and I really didn't like the ending of the movie when it involved burning dolls.. I was :x flinching the entire time... *sniffles*.. NOOO.. NOT THOSE BEAUTIFUL BJD... *cries*.. so what if they came alive and killed people??? they are so pretty.. *coughs*... loll.... *huggies Siva and Cyber (SYo and El)* .. ahh... i really love my boys.. and I am thinking of getting Cyber a girl friend... Hum.. anyway.. anyone else ever heard of the movie??

    16. I've never seen the movie, but I have heard of it ^ ^
I'd love to get it so Kiatou(DoD U) and I can watch it when he finnaly arrives at my house, but if there's doll burning in it then Im not sure he should see that part
