It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Dollmaster movie

Aug 23, 2004

    1. Aww, thanks, hon! :aheartbea

I have no idea if a script is available online . . . hmm!!

I think I got the gist of it from context, but it'd be nice to have a translation of the last 5-10 minutes of the movie, after the English subtitles cut out.

If you're afraid of horror movies, though, I'd suggest not trying to do it . . . the end is a little bit intense, especially out-of-context :/

      Thanks, though!!

    2. Kaito was totally freaked out when he saw what they did to the ball-jointed dolls!!!

This is slightly OT, but i have to put that Doll Master VCD for sale (because Kaito absolutely hates it) :sweat

      - US$3 + shipping
      - just arrived in November
      - watched only once
      - Korean dialogue with Chinese subtitles
      - PM me if interested!

    3. I am so glad to know it wasnt just my copy that the last few lines were cut off. They stopped with the subtitles at the end bonfire scene. And actually my dvd was messed up the directors commentary was ON the whole time via dialogue and then part way through the movie the commentary subtitles went off thankfully. So I watched it with out sound because the director and whomever else it was talking was soooo annoying.

I thought the movie was more sad then anything It actually made me cry when Mina said to Park'Why did you throw me away?" But then she started to cry when she remembered that Park had saved her from the motorcycle.

The big doll was creepy because it kinds looked like a death mask . Mina was so cute though how could you be afraid of something like that but I am sure by that time she was traumatized heh.....

    4. about the movie... can anyone explain me why the final boss dies doing nothing to her? XDDD

      What? an american remake??

    5. This is really, really old, but I've just found this little thread now. There's no way I'm getting it cause I'm a giant chicken, I'm also big on spoiling everything. Could someone who's watched it put the whole movie in tupperware and spoon feed it to me? xD I'm dying to find out.

    6. My English subtitled version, I can't remember it exactly but Hae-Mi muses about who is to blame, people, or the dolls who have become able to love on their own.

Yes, I love that movie and Mina is my dreamdoll. I desperately want her - she's how I found out about BJDs

    7. Hey guys,

I posted a translation of the last few lines a few times already, but here you go:

The stuff before this last scene is a few posts above as well.

    8. *Spoiling while gushing about the film below.

I saw the movie awhile back but barely found this topic right now. I showed it to my family and friends and we liked it. I love Damien! He's so sweet! I love the scene when Damien's owner is introducing herself and the brother sees that she has a doll and his expression changes like he knows what he has to go through to get her. I really like the movie.

I have the korean movie, but the english subtitles cut off right after the wife dies and display the lines "Who's fault is it ... ? Humans who are irresponsible, or the troubled dolls who loved their masters/people .. ?" So I dont know what they are saying while escaping the human sized dolls.

    9. Wait, what? lol Is that line actually in the subbed version? Because...that's my own translation. o_o; When I first downloaded this movie (way back then) the subs didn't cover this part....so I translated it out of boredom, phrasing it as poetically as I could. Oh dear, have my translations been stolen..........;x;

Hmm, well I don't know where my downloaded copy of DollMaster is, so if someone has a bittorrent link or something I'd be more than happy to translate the last bit. But I was pretty sure that fire scene was the last real dialogue...? Can you describe the scene you want translated?

Unless you're talking about the part where Ms. Im dies? Because that's what I translated a few posts back...

    10. Hehehhe, we watched it yesterday at my Mini meet( screenshots):

    11. No no, it's not exactly like your translation, I just copied and pasted that line because it's alot similiar to the one you posted. The scene where my subtitles stop appearing is literally right after Ms. Im dies after saying goodbye to Mr. Im then the dolls start breaking out of the walls and while they are becoming alive it displays the line and my subtitles wont show what Mr. Im is saying while backing away from the dolls with Hae-mi, Mr. Im noticing the Mary statue and talking to Hae-mi, and then him and Hae-mi talking while burning the dolls.

I'll check a few posts back to see if you have translated those scenes already. :)

    12. I just watched this the other day.....yes, I want to know what they are saying when Haemi is smashing the BVM statue!

So looking forward to my St Mina.......next week, maybe........

    13. Nope, didnt find the translations for the scene when Mr. Im and Hae-mi are backing away from the human sized dolls, and when Mr. Im and Hae-mi are outside noticing the Mary statue.

I'll try and post screenshots of what scenes I need translated.

    14. I just did a little peeking and found SOMETHING about a POSSIBLE English remake. Dimension Films has something to do with it, according to the site I found.... **Looks again**

Unfortunately, it was only on one website, being http://www.upcominghorrormovies.com/movies/dollmaster.php that one. I'm not sure how reliable that actually is....

      **Movie dork**

    15. I absolutely love this movie, ever since my friend Hansu-ah told me about it and demanded that I watch it (she does nott like dolls, but since she knew I did she figured I should >>). It was so awesome D: I watched it twice.

I was looking for Mina's model type! Thank you o.o <3

Anyway, the life size dolls kind of freaked me out (I do not like life-size ones much ^^; ) but I got over it >> It was not that scary to me *big scary movie lover* but it was still a really good horror movie.

      Sorry for rambling.

    16. I found the movie sad, than anything.
      Poor mina ;~;.
Not scary imo as i have no fear of dolls.

    17. Who wants to start a Damien club with me?

    18. ooo i love this shoW though i hate the life size ones. scary ;__;

but i cried in the end ;__; damn girl

    19. I tried to find this movie in different rentals, public library that has all the old movies you can think of, but no!

Is there no dollmaster movie in Toronto?
I really want to see it!!!!!

    20. Mmkay - I read about this a while back, and now I can give my two cents.

Remakes...hrm. You know, I'm a BIIIIG fan of Sadako from Ringu. BIG. <3 I love Yurei stories for the feel of them...and I wasn't entirely satisfied with "The Ring." It was good in its own ways, but...I find that American horrors are played up more for quick scares and jumps.

For me, though, the jury is still out on this one. Some remakes are handled well, Miramax has put out some decent movies. ^^ Primarily, like many others in here...I just hope they use BJDs and NOT porcelain dolls or puppets. I'm worried that...well, with the popularity of movies like "Saw," the perception of a 'horror doll' here is a very particular asthetic studios follow.

The question is if Miramax is willing to break the mold, as it were.
