It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. [Dollmore] Dear Doll :D

Sep 10, 2010

    1. What a beautiful family photo! :)

    2. they look great together sapphirestargazer. i love how she just cuddles in to her mommy :)

i'm repainting my shabee finally. she was the first faceup i ever did, so was vastly overdue for a redo! here's hoping the weather cooperates and i can get her done and new pics soon.

    3. Thank you! hehe I should post a photo of the entire family. ;)

Thanks very much! I love that too, and I'm super happy that I got my Ipsae to hold her like that with no props or 'tricks' required. :)

Ohh...can't wait to see what your Shabee will look like with her new faceup!

I need to give Émilie some new eyelashes, as hers were quite damaged when she arrived from Dollmore. I had to replace Élise's (Ipsae) eyelashes too, because hers were also pretty mangled when she arrived from Dollmore. :( On a more fun topic, I just ordered matching dresses for Émilie & Élise for the holidays. I love that Alice's Collections has the same dresses in both a 1/6 and a 65cm size. :love

    4. it's raining today so no faceups, and i'm out tomorrow :(but it'll get done eventually. that's too bad about your girls lashes, at least lashes are easy to replace.

are the dresses you ordered christmassy? or just matching?

    5. auntbear, they are red and white, so I guess they could be considered Christmas-y. They can really be worn any time, though. The dresses are identical, except for the size. Alice's Collections has quite a few dresses that come in all sizes from 1/6 to 65cm; the ones I got are this style. The daddy of the family has a white shirt and bright red necktie for the holidays, and of course the obligatory Argyle sweater, so I think the holiday photos should be rather fun.
Boo on the rain... Doesn't weather always seem to have a way of spoiling our fun? Oh well...it can't be controlled. Hopefully your schedule and some nicer weather will coincide in the not-too-distant future.

    6. those will be really pretty together, and while it will look christmasy at christmas, you're right they are also perfect for valentine's, spring or any other special occasion. looking forward to seeing your christmas pics!

    7. Ah, so many lovely little dollies in this thread! I've just ordered a Dear Doll Angela to add to the family and based on the comments about needing restringing I'm glad I ordered some extra elastic! Might need some thicker stuff, though; I went for the 2mm on the basis that that's what my Honey Delf is strung with. Ah well, part of the joy of working with dolls is figuring out what does the biz and what doesn't.

    8. welcome to the thread. it's always nice to see new faces here. did you get angela as a girl or boy? i haven't seen that sculpt yet, so looking forward to seeing yours.

i restrung my shabee with 3mm cord since that's what i happened to order. she was one of my first dolls and the first one i restrung. it worked really well and she was surprisingly easy to restring. i just cut the cord the same length as the old cord relaxed (if i remember correctly it was several years ago now) anyway she poses really nicely after restringing. the number of joints she has and the way they go together is lovely.

    9. Hi! Angela's going to be a girl. I'm glad to hear they pose well; so far my Honey Delf is the pinnacle of doll engineering in my house but I really liked the look of the Dear Doll joints.
Now I will just sit in the waiting room consumed with anticipation for the rest of the week.

    10. i've never understood why deardolls aren't more popular, 'cause they are lovely dolls. unless people look at them when they first arrive and get discouraged? a floppier doll i've never seen right out of the box, but once she was restrung she was truly lovely. and i was a total newb when i got/restrung her!

    11. Just dropping off some holiday photo spam of Émilie. :aheartbea

    12. what a great christmas pic, her dress is so pretty!

    13. yay for another shabee! one of my first and still one of my favorites!

    14. Has there been any recent arrivals of Popo or Bomi? This thread has been quiet for too long!

    15. Could someone tell me how to restring a Dear Doll Shabbee? Mine is very twitchy and I noticed she has four strands of elastic going down each leg, it seems like a lot of elastic, shouldn't there just be two?

    16. i actually restrung mine using heaver elastic, because she was so floppy it was like playing with a newborn. her posing is great now. if they have four strands, sounds like they tried to fix the problem by doubling up instead of using thicker elastic.

i guesstimated on the elastic. it was my first time re-stringing a doll, as long as you lay out all the pieces in order, i found it fairly easy to do.

    17. I purchased a dollmore body on eBay then ordered a head Narang from their site. Finally received it and he’s so cute! Looks like my nephew.

Noticed the belly sticks out a bit and some clothes I got from the site but don’t fit him. Example the sailor suit I was really looking forward too. Shirt fits fine but the shorts don’t button.
