It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Dollmore Judith Girls discussion part 1

Dec 31, 2010

    1. Nemesis looks so slick with her new haircut~
I'm trying to with my Velvet! >u<
I'm looking for clothes at the moment, I'm wanting to change her out of her fullset, lovely as it is. -v-
I haven't taken any pictures lately, I hope to soon. :3 I'm still trying to figure out her look and personality.

    2. Genevieve, I can't wait to see what you do with her! I'm sure she will be stunning! I also will e excited when you post pics.

    3. Aubreigh got a new dress. It's from Dollmore. Supposed to fit "SD", but it fits her great. -shrug-
It's a little long, but I put her in platform boots to even it out.

And one of my friends was over and we were trying on each others' wigs.
I really like this one on Natashah. It's from For My Doll, which I already have in this color but in a 9-10. Booo.
So I will have to buy her one.

    4. Kielin, oh wow your girls look lovely!

I especially love that wig on Natashah! That color looks awesome on her.

So my latest experiment was to try a pair of Cissy boots on Nemesis with her high heel feet. And, total success! Cissy footwear seems to be a great fit for the Judith heel feet!

She stands in them and everything.

    5. Wow, Nemesis looks fiesty and fabulous in those boots~ I'm going to have to get Velvet some heel feet!

I think that blue wig really suits Natasha, it looks like you might have to indulge her in one! X3

I think I've decided that Velvet is going to be a witch princess =v= fun~ Only it's becoming quite a quest to find something fitting that description! MSD clothes seem to come an abundance of lolita girl dresses. x3 I feel that my next Dollmore order will have a lot of items for miss Velvet, I'm glad to hear they can custom tailor dresses!

    6. Hello!
I was told Dollmore's mystic doll stardust mermaids aren't large dolls, but MSDs. Also at the thread for large dollmore dolls they said the mermaids' upper body is the Judith body, so my question: am I right here for them or is there another thread? I could not find one... Or should I open one? I am just a newbie, so I am a bit afraid of doing something wrong :(
      Thanks

    7. They are on the Judith body yes. The only reason they get labeled as SD is because the tail is fairly long, making them taller.
I don't know where they fit in on here, but this would be a good place to discuss them, especially if you are looking for clothing, as they are not going to fit in SD clothing.

    8. Thanks <3 kielin!
Yes, if it's okay I would like to discuss them here.
I am afraid of being to new into BJD to handle a mermaid. :|
Aaaand I feel like the chest is a bit too big for my character. Is there a way to mod a doll to build a smaller chest?
      Which clothing would fit her?

    9. Hello, elektroeule!

I don't know that much about the mermaid version of the body but it sure is cool looking.

It is possible to mod a doll's chest to be smaller with sandpaper, I've done it before and it looks good. If it's a normal skin or white skin doll it works best, darker skin tones are trickier to pull off. It's just a lot of work and hurts your hands after a while lol and you have to go slow and be careful to keep it even or you get a lopsided chest lol.

    10. Mermaid body's can be tricky to pose, but they are really fun.
The chest part I would just leave alone, unless you got a really talented modder to do it.

    11. Maybe I'll try my luck. I love challenging tasks ;)
Phew! But the chest is too big in my eyes. Maybe I can search for someone who is talented in the german forum.
Is there such a forum on DoA too? Maybe in the marketplace?

    12. The marketplace has a section for customizers all over the world who do things like faceups and modifications and maintenance... if you have marketplace access you should check it out. I don't see a lot of others besides me who specialize in modifications, but I think there are a few. Its possible you may find someone in your country who can do it.

    13. Did anyone here get one of those awesome mermaids? I looked back but don't see one.

    14. Not yet... Sadly! I have to save a lot of money for one of those sea beauties.

    15. Okay, so does anyone disagree with the thought of a Dollmore Judith being a first doll? o:

    16. What's to disagree on? If it's the doll you want, go for it!!

    17. I always have the fear that my first doll maybe isn't the right doll for a "beginner's" doll, because of some ungodly reason I can't seem to fathom.
I'm also worried I might have/feel the mighty need to hot glue suede her, and I'm terrified of doing that. [Again, just silly irrational fears]

    18. There is nothing I can think of that would make a Judith a poor beginner's doll :). They pose easily and dollmore resin is some of the best I've seen-- it takes a long time to yellow, smooth texture, even coloring. They are very pleasant to do business with and their dolls all come with a wig and eyes and at least something to wear. Their faceups are good quality if you wanted to order her with one. Spend over a certain amout and they send lovely freebies with your doll.

The only thing that might turn you off would be finding clothes--she fits a lot of msd things but not all. It's not that hard to figure out once you get used to it but for a beginner it might be challenging. Still, when in doubt you can ask dollmore to customize many of ther lovely outfits in Judith girl size for a minor fee :)

    19. Also, if you do choose to suede her (I hot glue sueded and wired mine but I'm picky about posability) you can do so easily without even taking her apart. You would be surprised how easy to do it is, with a good set of instructions even a total beginner could handle the job.

    20. I find my Judith girl to be a pleasure. I think she would make a wonderful first doll! And I agree with Affinite, I've sueded her without taking her apart. I found it really easy to do with torn off pieces of index cards! They're a good thickness not to burn your fingers and they can be torn into sturdy, but thin strips to get into the nooks and crannies. And even so, the only thing I think would benefit from sueding on her is her belly joint, as it tends to like to stay in one position.

And as for the lovely mermaids, I got some pictures of a friend's at a local doll meet! She was amazing. oAo
