Dollmore Judith Girls discussion part 1

And we had a laugh at the amazing volume of her default wig. It had enough hair to be a wig for a human~ The one she's wearing is different but her owner brought along the flowy enormous pink wig that she comes with and that has to be the biggest doll wig I've ever seen.

 

Oh wow there's one of those awesome mermaids! I love the color of her tail.

 

The color was gorgeous and translucent with glitter in it *3* I was amazed~

 

I'm even more excited to order her now, it's not even funny
Her face-up is so beautiful[I plan on getting the Edgars Atelier version with the blonde hair]~
And I also plan on sewing clothing for her, so the only thing I really plan on buying her is socks, shoes, wigs, and eyes. So the rest of it's gonna be pretty hand-made things I'm too excited to make.
Thank you for reassuring me so much, I definitely have every hope in my mind that she's going to be my first beautiful girl.

 

I'm so glad you're excited! They really are gorgeous dolls, I am enamored with mine. The details in their pretty faces don't completely translate well to photos. They look stunning in pics, but in person it's even more so. I think you will love her.

Hi guys. Thanks to some photos in another thread I am super-interested in Judith girls. I'm dying to know how hard it is it find clothes for them though. I think I lurked in here one other time and was told their bust was large enough to be difficult so I went in another direction -- but the one I ended up with has the same issue!! So I'm back to looking at these girls.

Any thoughts on clothes? How are they on posing - I like natural ease rather than acrobatics so I don't really care if they can do twisty-preztel poses. I'm not opposed to sueding (I've only owned one DM doll that never needed sueding - I think of him as a fluke) or wiring if necessary!

It is somewhat hard. I usually make my own.
Dollmore will make any of their outfits in Judith (or any other) size for a small fee. So there is always that.

I have 4 of them. One does not pose like at all, but I honestly think it is because she doesn't want to. She's sueded, has new string, and double wired, so there isn't really a reason why she couldn't. She is my oldest Judith. The other three however can stand like rocks with little effort. I suede all my dolls, but they were pretty solid without it.

Honestly, I haven't had that much trouble finding clothes to fit Nemesis. If it's girl clothes, MSD items fit as long as they are not tight fitting or have a little stretch. Slim mini things don't fit. Boy clothes almost always fit (all the ones I have tried have fit great!) If you go and ask at Dollmore's Q&A board they will make many of the outfits listed for other sizes in Judith size (some things they can't customize for them, it depends on what their designer says). The vest and slacks Nemesis is wearing in her most recent pictures were customized to fit judiths, they are tailor made and look amazing!

She poses like a boss, too. I had to suede her before she would cooperate but now she does most of what I'd like, and I'm super picky about doll poses. She is also wired, it makes a difference too.

I had the same questions about the clothing size. It is good to hear that they could fit into most of MSD clothes. ^^

That helps so much! This is great information, I feel better about clothes now. And I just LOVE Nemesis (and her name!).
I've been looking at pictures of these girls all day, I really think they're perfect for what I want...Now to start saving!

Oh, one other thing about clothes I have been running into lately: Some companies clothing made for shorter minis have pants that don't come down all the way. I have a few pairs that come to her calf that are full length on my 40cm girl. Just something to look out for if you are wanting full length.

BUY HER!! You need 5. Possibly 7.

I actually don't have any idea which would be best. I can't completely decide between Zinna and Tara, though I'm leaning toward Zinna. The outfit and face up don't mean much since I will never use the outfit and I have a horrible tendency to redo all face ups, even LE ones. So really, which ever one is available when I have scrapped up the $$ to order will be the winner XDD
If they were sold as blank, basics, I'd go that route...Hey, maybe that'll happen? Actually I'm really hoping that a lot of my stuff will sell before Dollism, and I'll be able to afford one - and they'll happen to have one there! Might happen....

Personally I'd go with Zinna, unless you want to redo the face-up. Tara face-ups come in suuuuper light, it makes them look weird. If you wanted to get a new face-up then it would probably be okay though.

I doubt it. Judiths have been out for 4 years now and not a single non-LE release. You can't even buy the parts separate. Try looking on the market though. I don't think there are any at the moment, but I've seen a strong trend of people not being able to bond with Judiths because of their odd size, so they get listed a lot.

 

Do Zinna or Tara come with a toothplate? I really love the sculpt but prefer her to have teeth. If not can you buy that separately? Or maybe contact Dollmore to see if there is an option. I would really appreciate any answers. I love this doll. I have Halloween Mio from Dollmore and she comes with the tooth part so they would be good friends.

 

They come with the teeth, yes.
