Dollmore Judith Girls discussion part 1

She is, I'd love to get her if she wasn't yanno, $2k. o-o
They come out with new Judiths every few months.

It's just the line name. Like Minifee or Delf or something.

 

Look who's home!

She's a Kid Roo head on a Judith body and she arrived just in time to go to a doll meet-up. The outfit is kind of fussy to put on. I'm not at all sure I did it right. There's an underbust corset and a sort of peignoir thing, both of them over a very full skirt. I couldn't get the corset on over the peignoir so I put it on first. I'll have to double check Dollmore's site to see if I'm right. I ordered the blonde wig separately, as they stated she came with only the black wig. (So why show both?) I figured with all that black she needed a bit of a different color.

 

The outfits that have essentially two dresses are usually a pain to get on, and they don't always close all the way.
She's pretty though.

 

It's a pretty outfit but she won't be wearing it all the time. I'm afraid the black will stain her body the same way my ballerina Zinna's black stockings do.

Dollmore sent me an additional dress as a gift. It's a fairy tale princess type of dress and it looks like it would fit, if only I could get her hands through the sleeves. She is tightly strung at the moment. Maybe once she loosens up a little I can remove her hands to dress her. It would have been a nice dress for the ballerina except her hands are even wider.

Hmm, I usually don't have an issue with their resin. I just use a magic eraser and it comes clean.

She looks really lovely. I love the Judith body, but not the open mouthed versions of the dolls - Roo is lovely

 

I really like the Roo head (my friend used to own one), it looks great on the mature body!

Finally have a(nother) body for my poor Zinna head. I passed off her body to a Unoa Sist a while ago, and that doll is staying as is, and I've been trying to get a second Judith body for the Zinna, but since DM doesn't sell them separately it's been the impossible dream.

SO I settled for a Dollzone one until I can grab a second Judith. It's a good match proportionately and the color would be better if the DZ was newer, and really I'm happy she's just got a body XD
I changed her character completely, so she needs new everything now.

 

My Zinna head is out for a new faceup. Since I got her head second hand she didn't have the tongue and the faceup artist created one for me. I thinkit looks exceptional! I hope that plus her new faceup helps me decide to keep her.

 

Thank you! Officially she is a Dollpire Kid Girl Definition of Hazy Roo. That's quite a mouthful! (Not to mention it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.) I like her a lot--she makes a nice change from my Zinnas. She's a bit kicky. I think she must be tighter strung than my other girls.

Yeah, magic eraser works for me, too. It's only because every bit of the outfit is black that it makes for a lot of potential cleaning.

I don't see the gift outfit on their site anymore. It's a long blue gown with a 2-part sleeve (puffed upper sleeve in a darker blue and fitted lower sleeve in orange) and a big orange bow to pin onto the back. There is a stiff slip, as well as a small crown on a comb. I wish I could get it on her, but her left hand is just too big to get into the narrow part of the sleeve. The regular kid body must have small hands. I'm going to try the outfit on one of my Naraes. I wonder if it's okay to post it here or if I'll have to post it on the Narae thread? Or maybe I could just photograph the outfit by itself.

It's odd that they never sent you clothes. I've received gift clothes with most of my orders. Usually it's just something small; this is the first time they've sent a full outfit.

Thanks. As I said above, Roo makes a nice alternative to the Zinna head. It would be nice if they made more Judith hybrids. After all, they've put Zinna and Tara heads on both the ballerina body and the mermaids. Why not more kid heads on the Judith body?

Now that I have Roo on the Judith body, I have trouble picturing her on a regular kid body. She looks older and wiser somehow. Maybe it's the faceup. Glad to hear your Zinna head found a body. I hope you'll share pics once she's clothed.

Wow! Your faceup artist did a great job on the mouthpiece. Is it a removable plug or did she make it permanent? Did she tell you what she made it from? I can't wait to see the finished faceup!

 

I'd say definitely weird, cause a few of my orders had 2 dolls in them. xD

 

How long ago was your last order? Maybe clothing gifts are a recent innovation. My Judith buying binge started last summer.

Well, one way to find out for sure is to order a doll now and see what they send you!

The princess gown fits Narae pretty well (except it's a little big around the neckline/shoulders). I'll have to take it off for a bit as she needs wiring. I still wish Roo could wear it, but she's so tight I can't get the string out far enough to remove her hand. I'll wait for her to loosen up naturally.

 

I put Roo in another Dollmore outfit. (Forgot I had this one. I bought it for my ballerina Zinna--except she's still wearing her tutu. And it looked weird on Maxima Suntan Zinna because you can see her dark skin through the fabric.) Roo's suitor is Dollpire Kid Shiloh. (Darn--he's got a long red hair down the front of his face. I never notice these things until after I take the photo.) I posted a photostory in the Galleries; it's also on my blog (link below my signature).

 

I'm really tempted to get one of these girls, and I can't decide whether I could cope with a Zinna or whether the Tara sculpt would be better. Would people be willing to post some close ups of their girls faces so I can see them in more detail? Dollmore images are often not that great

 

@Ishtar Have you looked at the Judith Girl Photo Sharing thread? I think all the girls there are Zinnas, but at least it will show you several limited editions with their face-ups. I've also posted my Ballet Kid Pirouette Zinna there, but I can't remember if it shows her default face-up or the face-up I gave her after wiping off the original. (I couldn't stand the green-and-yellow eyeshadow. It looked like someone had given her a black eye.)

I think @Kielin may be the only active person on this thread who has a Tara.

 

Yep. I personally am not super fond of the Tara head. That's why I was seeing about getting the blank Zinna head, to replace the Tara head on one of the dolls.

I had to add color to her face-up, because when she came it was just with the paint for the eyelashes and stuff. o-o They forgot to finish.

Thanks guys. I'm tempted to get a suntan Zinna, but still not sure whether the teeth part will annoy me. I asked Dollmore if they intend to release any hew Judith sculpts and they said not in the near future!

 

The teeth part is the same sort of thing you find in the original Narae sculpt. If you don't like dolls with teeth, you can always remove it. She'll look like she's saying, "Oh!"
