Dollmore Large Dolls Discussion Thread (all sizes) - Part 2

Those glamor model shoulders are very masculine I think . And yeah, the strong lion snout has to stand out against the kitties so it makes sense.

Eolomea: DM did a great job on your gorgeous boy's manicure. they do have big hands! & feet. I hate stringing, because it always messes up my upper back. + I'm lazy. I put off stringing my Soom guy's jointed hands for months. then when I finally tackled the job, it was easy as pie.

B-b-but ...I am very sad. Because I went to visit Haneol Moon's sale page as I compulsively have done since around 2008, and he is sold out. Why....whyyyy?! I was selling some dolls to finally buy him! QwQ If they discontinued him I will be crushed. I posted on their Q & A begging them to let me throw my money at them for a Haneol Moon.

 

That's horrible! But there is still a chance so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you -- Three times I've gotten "sold out" dolls from Dollmore. The first time was Pado way back in 2009 -- the boy was sold out, but you could still buy the girl so I asked them if i could still get a boy body and a girl head. They told me it was a glitch and he wasn't sold out at all. A couple years later Kara Klum was sold out....which obviously didn't happen for real. :B

Then they had that great discontinuing of sculpts a while back. Earlier this year I asked them if they might happen to have a Ujee head laying around still (one of the molds that was discontinued) and they did! It was literally the last one, but I still got him.

Hopefully you'll have the same luck *crosses fingers*

I was hoping to get a tattoo Nayuta Kenzo in chocolate brown, but he sold out too just the other day.

The lions are pretty cool! I hope they release a basic version.

And uh, they discontinued a hell of a lot more than just Haneol Moon. I really wish they'd give some warning. I totally would have bought another Thinking Kara Klum head just in case I ruined the one I'm going to mod >.< Can't do that now!! *sobs*
Miso is gone now too (glad I grabbed her when I did - she's one of my faves ), and she survived the last time they dropped a lot of their sculpts. I just had my Biwol head shipped yesterday, and I already feel like I need to buy ALL THE DOLLS in case they get rid of more I like D:

Thanks for the support. ;n; It's really disheartening. I found out that Dollmore destroyed the original Haneol Moon sculpt and he can never be made again. I'll be honest, I cried. A lot. =__= It was hard to hide to the less...understanding my mourning for a doll.
I just wonder, did they do it on purpose? Did they destroy the molds too, as well as all those other discontinued sculpts? Why in the world would they do that?

I did put up a WTB though, and I'm selling another doll to build up the Haneol Moon fund. .-.

Genevieve ~ I didn't they destroyed the molds D: That's so sad. But maybe it was just damaged....I've heard molds get damaged over time. Or maybe all companies do that. I have no idea. It is pretty depressing. *hugs* Good luck with the WTB. I really hope you can find him!

Every time they do a mass dropping of sculpts like this I panic. I am a huge fan of the Adam-Eve line (Which is a huge surprise, I know. Even though I technically only have two Adams and 4 Eves) and I feel like it's neglected a lot more than their other lines, and way less popular. I'm really afraid one day they're just going to drop it all together.

Dammit Fillmore!!! Whhhhhyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeee?!

 

QvQ i was really hoping it was just the molds, but after poking and poking Dollmore to tell me why, they said they destroyed the master sculpt. As in...the original to make molds of. I just don't even know what to think of that!

 

For some reason that really depresses me. And I wonder if that's the norm? Do other companies do that too? Dollzone had discontinued a LOT of dolls lately, did they destroy all the masters? Did Dollmore destroy all of them?? Ever? :<<<<< That hurts me. I have a lot of those dolls. I hate to think of that....

 

It depresses me intensely...especially with my grail doll. What exactly does "Destroy" entail...? I can only picture them smashing his beautiful face. T_T I also thought about Dollzone. Did they destroy Beata too? ;3; She was one I used to look at when I was younger too.
Such madness, I almost am in denial about it. Did they really destroy all those dolls or are they just saying it for some strange reason?

Wow, that is depressing. 9_9 Genevieve and aernath, that really stinks.
It's also making me think I should just go ahead and order my Kara Klum right now, rather than waiting for the end of next month like I was planning to. I mean, I would hope he's too popular for them to ever discontinue him, but after seeing stuff like this, I'm really paranoid.

 

The suntan nayuta kenzo is not actually sold out. There is one left for purchase as of 9:06pm chicago time on the 20th of November.i I just checked!! You may still have a chance, aernath!

 

I wonder if it was a lost in translation moment? I may pretend that was the case. Or they got damaged due to age and just can't be used to make new molds anymore. I just don't want to think of alternatives. I'd have given that Thinking Kara Klum master a good home

The Dollzone thing depresses me too. My Reiko was damaged when I got it, and I can't get another one now. It's sad to think that her master was destroyed....

Well, I'm not sure he's popular exactly...Zaoll, Trinity, Lusion and pretty much every other doll in every other line they have are probably more popular. There are a handful out there (that aren't mine) but they don't get posted a lot....

That said, he survived this round (though the thinking version got the ax), and the last time they did this was end of 2012, so it might be a while before the next cut.

I say get him! There can never be too much Kara Klum!

 

Oh I'm definitely gonna get him, it's just a matter of how soon. =P I'm going back and forth on taking advantage of the 7% off they currently have, or waiting to see what/if they have a holiday event next month. Of course, if the holiday event isn't something I find that great, I'll be kicking myself for not using the 7%... but it could easily go the other way too. >_>

 

Holy smackeronies! Thank you for that! I just ordered him hopefully with the longest lay away ever! It says at the bottom of his page, that I can do a 12 month lay away, so since I have all my dolly money tied up ATM, this will help me get him still! Just a really long wait.
But then again, things might get better and I pay him off early!
I got my Keskin Yarn Sae paid off early, but am still waiting for those wonderful words: On Shipping!
I'm hoping he makes it in time for Christmas. Though I will accept him whenever he decides to come home.
