1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollmore Large Dolls Discussion Thread (all sizes) - Part 2

May 2, 2014

    1. Insane but fun! Multiples are awesome! ;)

    2. They really are ORZ

    3. Hee hee hee! LOVE the title! :XD:
She looks great! Love the blue hair and still amazed by your work on the shirt! I swear it looks professional.

    4. Thanks! I put most of my skill points into knitting, but a fair amount still go into general craftiness ;)

    5. Bought some new wigs for my big girls. Human hair wigs. Pricey, but awesome. :aheartbea

I think Kana will definitely be keeping the blonde one. It just suits her.

I'm also thinking she may be coming to Dollism with me. I was gonna bring my Lumie, but since I am now picking up an Elysia at the convention, she'll be staying home this time around. :XD: Aside from Kana I still have no idea who else I wanna bring!

    6. I love those elf ears! Soooo want to touch them! I hope they give more of them elf ears.

    7. Hello everyone, it's been a while since my boy Dan (who is a Masterful Kasi Dan :D)arrived, and still I can't post pictures of him. It was so sad to have him arrive with a broken leg. How the heck could that happen? Since the box didn't have a dent, plus the bubble wrap around the legs was fine as well. When unpacking, I was careful of course. And that to a "with everything" doll (sanding, bodyblushing) :atremblin. The only thing I could think of is, included in the free gift bag was an item with sharp edges, some kind of waterproof plastic purse. But still... Anyway, I will get a replacement lower calf for ree, blushed and sanded, plus I ordered stuff to suede him. I can imagine that restringing will not be the best for the bodyblushing. But the main thing is, I have to get through this, and won't let it get me down!

    8. Eolomea: Ohh I love Kasi Dan, especially Masterful! >_> I want him. I'm sorry that he arrived broken, but that's great of DM to send you a proper replacement. :) I hope you get him restrung soon so we can see him. :D But lord knows how difficult it is to string those Glamour Models...my Mettaa was a nightmare to restring. >_<

    9. It could have been that he was strung a little bit too tight. Or there was a flaw in the resin that wasn't noticeable, and with the jostling and jouncing we all know the boxes get on their way to us, one bump proved to be one too many.
So glad to hear DM is taking care of you though! I've never had any problems with them, but it's still good to hear they're easy to work with when things go wrong. ^_^
I hope he gets all his parts together and assembled soon for some long overdue photos! Congratulations on getting him home!

    10. That sucks, but at least they're replacing it!
I would bet it was a casting flaw, and just being a little jostled in the post did it. I had a luts doll new from Luts break in almost the same way (I saw your pic), and I know there was no way he just broke. I had never dropped him, and never really done anything with him...and he just broke. Looking at the edges, it looked like there might have been air bubbles, making that part a little less stable. No way to know from looking at the doll, but that was my guess. If that's the case, there's probably nothing anyone could have done, and it's a good thing he broke on the way instead of a few weeks later -- Luts made me pay for my replacement lol, if he'd broke in shipping it probably would have been free!

And as long as you're careful the blushing will probably be fine for restringing! A lot of my dolls are blushed, I've never damaged them in stringing. :)

    11. That is my fear that parts will break during the transition. I always think it is best to keep the dolls close by, perhaps, pick up the dolls at site, but that is really not feasible for most of the time. Do you think keeping the doll in carryon bag or large tote bag through the airport is safe? I definitely do not want to put the doll in the checkin bag.

    12. Ninaelise: I traveled on the train with 2 SD's in a padded duffel bag and kept it strictly as a carry-on. It was still scary to do that but they made it there and back just fine. ^~^ I would not trust the baggage handlers with being careful with your dolls, they are usually in a hurry and are trying to pack many bags in a cramped luggage storage area in the back of the plane or bottom of the train. >_>

Stormlight: Your Kana is so beautiful! >_< Those elf ears are awesome and the wig looks so soft...it was worth the pricey-ness in my opinion. ;)

    13. Genevive; I got the shipping notice from Dollmore, with Tracking number. It has left Korea, but no more news i suppose until after our holiday weekend. But poor 3 eyed Victor Lou (Rhyvik) will have all his new goodies soon. Then the fun really starts...restringing, etc.*_*

Ninaelise; Carry on's ONLY! Clutched tightly to your heart! NO Touchee by any kind of baggage handler! (Trust me on this.):pout:

    14. Grouchy Gnome: Yay! :DD How exciting~ I can't wait to see him, and I'm interested in what kind of eyes you've chosen for him, especially for the third eye. Man I wish they would sell the head separately...I think I'm going to have to make a WTB thread.
I have some elastic for both my guys in my cart at dollmore but I'm still waffling over some outfits for other dolls. I like to do the $100 at a time orders for free shipping. =v= and I get lots of stuff that I need at the same time. One thing that's kind of bothered me is that my Mettaa came with the peach colored string instead of the tan, so I'm getting him some tan elastic. *V* Good luck to you and Rhyvik on your stringing endeavors!

    15. What would be the most nightmarish part in restringing glamor model guys? I received the advice from dollmore to not try it by myself, but with a friend^^. And thank you so much for helping me understand what happened to Dan's leg better. It's so nice of you all to share your thoughts with me, really comforting. Dollmore told me, even though I was a bit late with reporting the damage (like... 10 days maybe?), right from the start that I hadn't done anything wrong, and for sure they'd replace it :thumbup.

    16. Dollmore is so awesome that way. :)

    17. Oh it's not actually as horrible as I make it sound, he was just the most difficult of my dolls to restring. Mostly because I had to pull it so tight to support his weight and his limbs are so long. It was difficult to get the resin hooks of his feet strung. His arms were fine though, it's just the legs/feet that gave me issue. I really think thicker string would solve most of those problems. Just watch out for headbutts while you're restringing >_> I did it by myself so I don't think you'll need a friend unless you'd like the extra help. *V*

    18. I'm truthfully scared to restring my future Lusion I have on layaway XD. I have enough issues with a 62 cm tall. When she comes I have to do a paint job on her nails on both hands and feet.

    19. Genevieve, thank you so much for the headbutt info, I got to take great care of his faceup, I couldn't ever possibly redo his eyebrows the way they are now. I'll try to relax, at least till the spare part is here. Fush, wouldn't it be great to have a kind of dummy for practising restringing- that poor thing, though!
