1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollmore Large Dolls Discussion Thread (all sizes) - Part 2

May 2, 2014

    1. Eolomea: It would be amazing. Either way I am going to have to restring her. I may have to ask a friend to Hold her while I string as I have a special way of stringing which works wonders in making dolls very solid standers and posers. I do the method of one whole string per leg and then combine them up in the neck. I am curious if this method would work with Lusions as I know a lot of people have issues with them standing and stuff.

Oh another note I am having one of those moments where I wish i knew someone who has a Trinity near me so I could make a duck tape dummy (or find someone who is willing to do such a task for me) head and body. pretty much the basic form of the doll. I want one but not for the reason I need one for. Plus I would never mod a Trinity's body to being a male.

    2. Hey all! This thread's been quiet lately, hasn't it?

Noé and Élise have both gotten their (matching) new shoes from Alice's Collections and their matching outfits from Dollmore. They're very pleased to be able to "dress like twins" (which is more than I can say for the other set of twins in my resin family). :XD: Noé's jointed hands are FINALLY here...almost. I got a notice card today, and will hopefully be able to retrieve them from the Post Office after work. Looks like this weekend's project is going to be sueding Noé's arms, restringing them with the new flesh-coloured elastic I got for him from Dollmore, and then installing his new hands. Yay! He's very excited about his hands. I expect rude gestures....

      Pictures soon, I promise. :)

The resin match isn't perfect, but I can live with it. These hands are so great! I can foresee that they're going to provide much entertainment. ;) There are a bunch more photos in my flickr if anyone's interested. :love

    3. Oh... the faceup is astounding! So much depth and nuance! :D

    4. Love the hands! He's so expressive with them! They look great.
Alex's aren't a perfect match either, but they're better than the pink color. He's not wearing them now...he's on punishment for this:

That's all he does with his. He's aiming that at me btw^^', not anyone else. He's the only doll I own who "acknowledges" my existence.
(he's not really on punishment, I just don't want to deal with them at Dollism XD)

I should be picking my 7th up next weekend!! I'm so excited X3
But too busy freaking out over everything I'm trying to pack to care atm D:

    5. Oh, Noé has tried that one, too. ;)

He was mad because he didn't want me to keep taking so many pictures of him, and was offering his opinion on the situation. He was definitely aiming at me. :eusa_naug

aahhh I can just imagine how exciting it would be to go to Dollism! It's getting really close! I hope you have a really fabulous time there, and of course HUGE congrats on getting Number 7. :)

    6. Love your photos , I can imagine my boy would greet me exactly like this if he could.

    7. hehe a few of my other boys wish they could do it as well. ;) Noé can be snarky, but he's usually somewhat more mannerly than that. :XD:

I still haven't sueded and restrung his arms, which was a project I'd intended to do this weekend. I'm having one of those weekends where I want to do everything and end up doing nothing. =P I have managed to pick out some more shoes from Dollmore for both Noé and Élise since Dollmore is having a shoe sale, and some Model M underwear of questionable modesty has somehow found its way into my cart as well. The twins have insisted on a few new clothing items too because, you know...Dollmore. :love

    8. I'm having one of those weekends too... except my projects keep getting derailed by outside factors (firm BBQ yesterday, Hus in a pissy, fight-picking mood today)
Noé's hands look awesome. I love the pictures you've taken of him :) (Astrid is very supportive of those underwear ;))

Not that I haven't gotten anything done this weekend though, I did manage to finish CJ's WhiteSnake shirt (sewed the shirt then silkscreened the snake)
      Cristina's White Snake shirt

The ink managed to bleed under the stencil a bit, but I think it still turned out ok overall. (Erzsebet's shirt turned out better, but then that design has no super-fine lines)

    9. Thanks for the comments on the pictures! :)

Sundays...meh. It was raining today and all I felt like doing was to watch anime and cuddle my dolls. I went to praise & worship hour this morning and I did my grocery shopping today, so that's something, right? Also, I'm trying to teach myself how to knit. Several people have tried to teach me at different times, without success. I thought I might do better on my own with internet tutorials instead of having somebody watch over me while I try to do it.

heheh...how could we ever have doubted Astrid's approval of those underpants? :wiggle Noé says he'll model them for her when they get here, perhaps on the 'fur' blanket I'm making for Zach and Aubrey. ;) At the moment, Noé is lounging around in his black dance tights. He's quite proud of those. They don't leave a whole lot to the imagination (kind of like his white ones) but he doesn't really seem to mind. :XD:

I love the silkscreened shirts! Erszebet's is truly awesome, and CJ's looks great too. I really need to get busy and try to sew some shirts for my boys. I can do the iron-on transfers, but I need the shirts first....lol.

    10. I almost wish it was raining, then I would have had a better excuse for staying in all day and lazing around. I'm so glad you're trying to pick up knitting! Does this mean you might be joining us on Ravelry?

Astrid says those photos sound like they're going to be "very interesting" ;) (she also thinks there should be pictures of him in his dance tights)

    11. lol I wouldn't get ahead of myself. I have to successfully make something - without screaming, cursing, throwing things, giving up in frustration and ultimately declaring my dislike of knitting - before I'd consider myself to have 'taken up knitting'. :XD: Of course, without a well-meaning family member or friend keeping an eye on me, I expect things will go better. I'll let you know how it turns out.

As for the photos of Noé in his black dance tights... ask and you shall receive. ;)
The fabric he's lying on is the faux fur I'm using to make Zach & Aubrey's blanket. The lining is going to be red taffeta.

    12. wow, that skull face up is amazing!

    13. the sailor boy is adorable. I love his face.

    14. Hi there Genevive and Sapphire Stargazer! Well, my Dollpire Victor Lou with the three eyes (which I tenatively named Rhyvyk,) is now all restrung and dressed and ready for pictures, ....just as soon as I get his wig to stay on! My daughter and I fought for two days, on and off, to get him restrung. Daughter had never restrung a doll, and the only ones I'd ever done were tinies. A joyful time was had by all. Yeah! Right. We don't really know how we did it, but he's together and seems to function okay. No matter what, that dear boy is not comming apart again for a very long time. We wound up stringing the legs separately, with 5mm cording. The upper torso and arms were strung with the original cording, 3 or 4mm, which was still in good shape. All the new cording, his clothes, boots and wig came from Dollmore, so he is happy with all his new loot.:3nodding:
All 3 of his eyes match. They are aligator eyes. His 2 human eyes are 14mm, and his third eye is 16mm. They came from a local taxidermy supply shop.:aeyepop: I will take a picture tomorrow and post it. He looks so very different than he did before his makeover, that he may insist on a new name. A more sophisticated one.

    15. Woah, he sounds epic. >_> Congrats on getting him all strung! Here's to that...my boys aren't going to come unstrung for a long, long time (I hope).

D: I haven't taken any new pictures in a while thanks to school, but here's an old-ish picture of Alkas's face. >_> Celebratory Victor Lou spam!

    16. Okay, I promised a lousy picture, so here's my lousy picture. I'll try to take some better ones to post in a few days.

    17. So handsome! >___< Love his eyes!
Is he on the glamour model body? His hands are different. o3o He doesn't have enormous yaoi hands like both my guys. XD

    18. He's supposed to be. I ordered Glamour Model Clothes for him and his 10cm feet! His clothes fit nicely and his boots, which you can't see in this picture, are a great fit. (Your Victor Lou is always so nicely dressed, so mine wanted to be also.) I think He was jealous of your Alka's wardrobe.:pout: I got him from ebay a long time ago, and just now got around to fixing him up, so he's probablly a lot older model than your dolls. When I got him, he had very pale glass human eyes and a bright red acrylic eye with a vertical slit type pupil for his third eye. His present eye color is hard to see in this picture. (Damn flash!) But they are a nice metallic green with black slit pupils, and they all 3 match. That was important to me. I'll try to get a pic of him standing, and another that shows his face better. (I'm just a lousy photographer.) :...( Thanks for the compliment. Poor Guy has been ignored for so long, that he really needed one! :XD:

    19. Hehe, Alkas is a dapper man by character! I'm so glad you're getting to fixing him up, he's a wonderful doll~ I have a thing for triclops!
I think I can tell what his eyes look like, I've seen those taxidermy eyes before and they're lovely. I wouldn't have thought to do something like that!
I actually like those hands better than the ones for Glamour Models right now. XD It's just that they're a tad too big, I think. I think most of the issue is that the volks suit he's wearing has sleeves that are slightly too short for his long arms, so it kind of enhances his hands. o.o They're beautifully sculpted, everytime I take him to a meet, they remark how big and detailed they are. X3 but I found out recently, to my delight, that they're posed perfectly to hold a DSLR!
