It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollmore Lusion Discussion - Part V!

Aug 13, 2014

    1. It does identify the doll. I would ask for the certificate even if you don't plan to ever sell her.

    2. Thanks for the info! I will email Dollmore tonight. I actually plan on getting some golden brown or possible green eyes for Dahlia soon, since she's now brunette!

Do you all prefer acrylic eyes, or glass eyes in your Lusions? Some of the acrylic eyes on Dollmore site seem to have more color depth, and eBay has some really amazing looking acrylic eyes that I think are meant for reborn dolls, and those look really realistic! At least in the pictures.
I'm automatically drawn to glass eyes because I like the physical depth of them as objects, but I'm wondering if acrylic eyes might actually look more lifelike?

    3. Generally I prefer glass but I think some of the newer acrylics are improved over the older ones.

    4. I find acrylics more realistic - I don't generally buy eyes sold as BJD eyes because they're ususlaly so overpriced - I buy reborn doll eyes - they're beautifully realistic (and a fraction fo the price). I've replaced most of the glass eyes I had.

I also don't like high-dome/papereight eyes becuase they often make a doll look cross-eyed in person, and the high-dome usually means you can only position them with the doll looking straight forward as they won't sit right in the socket in other positions.

    5. I never though about paperweight eyes having that issue, which is now why I understand why some of the dolls on Dollmore's site do look cross-eyed! That's a very good point. Do you have a preferred seller for reborn eyes to suggest? On eBay most of the reborn acrylic eyes I saw were $30-$40, which is basically the same as Dollmore glass eyes

    6. The seller I buy from most often is based over here:

    7. The link didn't work, but I searched her name and found her ebay store! Thanks! I've just ordered a pair of acrylic eyes from her and found a couple other colors I think will be pretty!

    8. Sorry about the faulty link - I generated it throguh my work login, which doesn't aways play well with others.

Glad you found the listings anyway.

    9. A couple days ago the acrylic eyes I bought arrived! I absolutely love the way they look. I bought "hazel" and "ocean green", but decided the hazel are my favorite.

    10. They arrived fast and loo great in her.

The green and the hazel are the colours I buy most often.

    11. Thanks Teddy! I'm really liking these eyes on her more than the blue glass ones she came with.

Has anyone tried eyes smaller than 26mm on their Lusion? I'm wondering if 24mm or even 22mm eyes would work.

    12. I think 24mm look good and I think someone tried 22mm Eyeco eyes.I think plain round 22mm would leave gaps at the corners.

    13. That's good to know 24mm works! Dahlia has very wide, but not very tall eye holes. That on top of the very thick lashes mine currently wears means even less space for her eyes to show through. Are Eyeco eyes worth the price? Their Platinum Soft Glass sounds really interesting, and comes in pretty multi-colors!

    14. I recently bought Dollmore's Soft Cabbage wig in Red since I love this wig style so much, and I feel like my Dahlia looks like she could be Kirsten Dunst's Claudia from Interview with the Vampire

    15. You know, I have a bunch of Eyeco soft glass eyes, and all of them turned yellow over the years. Like, the whites are no longer white, they are very obviously yellow, especially when comparing them to, say Soom's silicon eyes, which are still pristine white. So, personally, I don't think the cost is worth it. I also have some Eyeco acrylics, and they didn't turn yellow, so I'd go for the acrylics over the soft glass.

She really does! She's got the look down with that outfit. :)

    16. Aw that's too bad about the yellowing, because Eyeco has some really interesting color styles. Do you think perhaps the harder-glass polyglass eyes might have less yellowing than the ultra and platinum line softglass? And thank you! I like the wig style but the curls are really easy messed up so I will likely change her back into her wavy wig.

    17. I think the hard polyglass might be the acrylics? Not sure what they were made of, I just assumed acrylic. They didn't yellow at all, though, like the soft glass did. I couldn't tell you whether the ultra or platinum line would yellow, as I don't own any of them. I do have a pair of soft glass eyes from Masterpiece, though, and they never yellowed like the Eyeco did.

My only Lusion is wearing a pair of Oscardoll eyes. They're pricey but worth it!

    18. Thank you for all the eye information! This is really useful... I really like the color options Masterpiece, though Oscar Doll has some really beautifully realistic eyes!
Do you know of any eye companies that have small-pupil eyes, similar to the Afghan Eyes from Masterpiece? Picture below:

    19. Those are very pretty!
