1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollmore Lusion Discussion - Part V!

Aug 13, 2014

    1. About 12 pounds of dead weight...like a small toddler...but I'm so used to them now that I seldom notice it. I was snowed in and I did arm lifts with two of them, LOL! Anyway, they're heavy but I can hold one in my lap and dress her with ease. Whereas with the Trinities, they must lie on a bed to be dressed.

    2. 9.25 lbs and 15.75 lbs is the weigts of them in pounds

remember your kids are not hollow lol,

    3. I wired my Daish and she's been much easier to pose since - without wire her hands were too heavy for her arms to hold up so they just gravitated to the lowest position possible. She stands better now she's wired too - although I stil put her on a stand as that's a lot sturdier.

Even with wire, they aren't great posers, but they are lovley dolls.

    4. No matter their weight, which is considerable, they're the best dolls in the world. Okay, some will argue... but even though heavy, ungainly, hard to pose, etc, they just talk to those of us who love them.

    5. Teddy - How did you wire your Daish? Do you have to wrap the wire around the elastic at the
      elbow or knee etc...?

Dollmore has a special large stand for the Lusion and bigger girls, but it is a lot of money.

    6. Many of us find the Dollmore stand to be worth the money! It has a very heavy base which makes it more stable than typical metal or wood base stands.

    7. Those Dollmore stands are essential for Trinities and worth their weight in gold but a Kaiser stand, one of their larger heavier models, does well indeed for Lusions.

    8. Nothing so complicated.

I got heavy duty armature wire, cut one piece long enough to go from ankle to kneck, U-turn and go back down to the other ankle, another piece long enough to go from wrist to wrist, threaded them in alongside the elastic and she was done.

It took some effort to get it through the elbows and knees, but by stretching the elastic so it was thinner at those points while I was pushing the wire through there was just enough space to do it (it was a relief to let go of the taut elastic by that point and let it spring back to full-thickness!).

    9. Great tutorial, Teddy, thank you! I just might try one of my girls.

    10. Thanks so much Teddy that sounds so much easier than I thought it would be.

I think I will get the Dollmore stand. My girl has been sitting since I got her over 2 years ago. Will be
so nice to have her standing for a much needed change.

    11. I have my Dahlia hot glue sueded as well as wired. The extra grip is what she needs to hold a pose in places like the armpits, hips, and back, where a wire won't work. With this, she can stand independently. I wouldn't walk away from her, ever, but It's good if you need her to stand for a photo shoot.

    12. Dropping by to post a pic of my First Travel Dahlia; Alexandria who got a little dressed up for Easter. I love her perpetually pouty/cross face.

Please excuse the nightmare of a wig. It's the one she was sent actually wearing in transit so it has been messed up from day 1 and I have yet to find another that I like as much to buy for her :XD:

    13. Can you not comb it through and condition it?

She looks adorable in her bunny ears

      Teddy

    14. I've tried gently combing through it to no avail, it's been a nightmare since day 1. I'm also not sure what conditioner would be safe for it, can you recommend any? I wouldn't have a clue, I've never had a doll wig so messed up that I've had to treat it with anything :XD:

      And thanks~!

    15. Leeke sells wig conditioners... spray it in work it in by hand then comb... but for a 'big' wig you migh need a whole bottle for a rescue job... it's worth a shot? Also find whey ppl buy 'human' wigs... or hair peices. they have all types of material kinds (not all are human hair wigs)... or contact a theatre and ask where they get wigs from and how they 'keep them'. It's not so long ago that 'hair peices' as accessories was a real thing for a while... the stuff still has to be out there... when I have the money finally I plan on going to a wig show near me... Oh and cosplay ppl! Find some and ask them!

    16. If it's a synthetic wig, I'd use fabric conditioner on it - that's what I use on my off-topic (rescue) dolls who have frazzled hair and I've done the same with synthetic fibre wigs.

It takes a while - start combing at the ends and work your way back up to the roots, combing out a small section at a time until the whole wig is as tangle free as you can get it, then lay it flat in the sink and let fabric-conditioner soak into it (combing it through with the conditioner in if necessary). Gently rinse out the conditioner keeping the hair as smooth and undisturbed as possible.

I wrap mine in a soft towel (without rubbing) to blot up the excess water then hang the wig on the shower-head in my shower so it can drip dry after that, befoe styling it once it's dry.

Best of luck if you do decide to give it go.

    17. Thanks for the great tips guys! I'll be sure to give them a go when I get the free time :)

    18. I'm going to order Elenoir tomorrow! She'll be my first lusion doll! I have to put her on layaway though, for about 6 months I think.

    19. How exciting! I want her too but I'd love to see an owner picture. No rush, have to pay for my pb Alice, now on order.

    20. She is very pretty! Charming! :chibi
