1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollmore Lusion Discussion - Part V!

Aug 13, 2014

    1. Except for shoes, there are few ready-made Lusion-size clothes out there. Dollmore is the best starting point but if that doesn't fit your vision, you'll have to improvise and shop around. I found a knit 0-3 months baby outfit that, with modifications, worked well. (My post with photos is somewhere around here.) You might find other baby outfits more in line with decora/harajuku.
"The Patchwork Pansy" has clothing patterns for 28" Himstedt dolls but that's 5 inches shorter than Lusion. The dresses will look okay with a high waistline but the tops and pants will look cropped on Lusion. The dress patterns should work for harajuku: just change the fabrics and trims and shorten the skirt.
I posted 9 free basic patterns for Lusion in the DoA Workshop, split between sewing and knitting, if that helps.
My pro tip: design and sketch an entire BJD outfit with the desired features and colors FIRST. Then start searching for pieces that fit your vision. If you don't, you could end up with too many individual pieces that don't form a cohesive outfit. Ask me how I know! :XD:
I hope you'll consider a Lusion. It's a big doll with a big stand, big clothing and accessories but, if you love Lusion, you'll find the room! Good Hunting!

    2. Haha thanks so much for the info <3

    3. Hey all, I'm interested in Lusion dolls- I've been looking at the Baker Street Dell- but I have some questions, if you don't mind :D

1.) Is it possible to ask for an additional head? I'd love a dreaming Dell head in addition to the OE head. I only see Dahlia head for sale separately, though.
2.) How difficult is it to swap heads and hands? If anyone has the jointed hands, do you like them?
3.) I found images of the boy body in the first Pino listing (I assume that's the current body for boys). Are there images of the current female body?
4.) How do you shop for Lusion? Do you have favorite places?
5.) Where do you store yours? What's it like having such a giant?

I'm sure most of these questions have been asked somewhere along the 5 Lusion threads, so if anyone knows a place with collected info, please let me know :D Thank you!

    4. There should be - it's not a patch on the boy body for looking like a child's body - too skinny in the middle compard ot the size fo the hip too skinny in general, actually, but it; can be dressed to look child like, so it's OK. I wish I'd known they were brining out a boy beofre I bought mine, I'd have just modded off the boy bits to get a less "shapely" girl body...

Ahm, here's some pictures Dollmore.net :: Everything for Doll & more

I've got some stiff in the sales at the supermarket in the baby and toddler section and lads of shoes (second hand and new, a lot cheaper than Dollmore shoes) from charity shops, ebay and in the sales at childrens stores. Mostly, however, I make stuff because I don't dress her modern - though she does have quite a wardrobe of vintage and antique baby gowns.

She has her own stand as well as some child sized chairs (plus folding ones for travelling to meets) and sits or stands in the living room.

    5. I was able to get the sleeping head from dollmore after I bought my Dell so Dollmore is up for it.

Swapping the head is pretty easy the head stopper thingy is really easy to hold since it is so big compared to the average s hook.

I buy shoes from wherever kid shoes can be bought.

Mine towers over my other dolls on a display table.

    6. 10 inches of snow makes for some fun (and COLD) doll photos.

    7. @vampireketsuki Cute! But I think your doll would like a winter jacket and mittens!

    8. Brrrrrrr..... I only did the snow thing once, the year I got my Daish Couldn't say it encouraged me to take more snow pictures.:

    9. Gave my boy another face-up, making his eyelids less dark this time feels a lot better to me. I need to buy eyelashes. I feel like eyelashes feel too big on 8-9" doll heads, but I feel like he really needs them.

    11. He is lovely! Sometimes lower lashes work better for boys!

    12. He looks great! If you can find some shorter lashes maybe those would help? I would check with beauty supply places maybe. Blonde/red lashes are hard to find in human size I find, but I'm loving his overall look. That tiny bit of fringe on his upper lash line might be all you're looking for.

    13. @zekarmisama ADORABLE faceup and clothes! The freckles are masterfully done! I'd love to see lashes on this sweet boy!

    14. I’d love if people could share pictures of either female Lillia or dell ^+^ currently choosing between those girls, also would love blank dell picture if anyone has one !

    15. Teddy,

How did you finally get your doll? I may be in the same situation.

    16. I like the new face!

    17. I don't care for the open mouth either. But, that is why there are different versions of dolls.

    18. I had her delivered to my workplace and a colleague kept the box aside for me until I returned home and went back to work. I hope your situation works out better!!

Can I just point out that it helps enormously if you include the text of the message you are replying to (not the whole message, just highlight and hit reply on the line or paragraph you're responding to) on so that the rest of us can tell which message you're referring to.

Some threads are very long and have accumulated many pages over weeks, months, or years, so it can be hard to tell which part of it you're reading and replying to if you don't include them. For example - I had to think back over ten years to remember having posted about the problems with my Lusion order.

    19. I was kind of surprised to see Dollmore is selling the Lusion boy body by itself and some of the outfit sets too.

I am a little tempted by the my little lord dress set. The 10% coupon runs until the end of the month so maybe I shall mull about it and see how I feel later.

    20. I hadn't checked in a while but it's nice to see hey're finally offring heads only and the boy body on its own.

I'm tempted to buy the boy body to mod-off the girl bits and have a more child-proportioned girl body for Daisy Bacon, but the boy body alone costs more than Daisy Bacon did as a full doll back when I got her. I have no idea whether there'd be any takers for her body on the second-hand market without the head.

I guess I could put up a sale listing in the Marketplace and see if there's a taker. If I can get a chunk of the cost of the boy body from selling the girl body I think making up the rest of the amount might be doable. It's a good think hat Daisy Bacon's box is one of hre few doll boxes I kept (only because it's full of antique and vintage baby gowns for Daisy to wear).
