1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dollmore Lusion Discussion - Part V!

Aug 13, 2014

    1. Adorable!

      Teddy

    2. Pardon me folks. I haven't posted in probably a year now. I have found that I have lost my passion for my resin BJDs including my Lusions. I know heartbreaking, isn't it? I have sold two Lusions and my gorgeous Lillia head. I still have my Nell though which was my first. She is an older Dahlia Golden. I was going to sell her, but am starting to have second thoughts. Anyway I was on the Dollmore site and was wondering if anyone has Sweet Alice or Drawing Elenore? If so, would you please share photos? What is the consensus of these two?

    3. Nope, not I. I like them but i still love the ones I've got and they're enough. I was thinking of them but no....sweet dolls, but not necessary for me. I hope someone wants them. I'm happy with who's still I have.
Ah, can't wait to see her when she arrives and it'll be right soon that she does, Vicki....I'm sure she'll be wonderful!
And Cathy, I have Dreaming Dollist, my first, Nostalgic, Murmuring and First Traveler. They work very hard for UFDC.

    4. I've had the first Alice, who seems to have 30mm eyes which are larger than the other Alice, on layaway since dirt was a new idea, or so it seems. I think I'm about half way through the twelve payments. I've got a human hair wig with no fringe and a Disney Couture dress waiting for her, so when she finally does arrive I'll post lots of photos.

    5. There was another Alice? That is funny because when I was looking at the current Alice on the site I thought she looked different from what I remembered, especially the eyes. So Dollmore changed the Sculpt?

Which Lusions do you have left Jen?

    6. Oh ok. This is the Alice I remember seeing. She's a LE. There is a significant difference between the two. Thank you for this information Merangel. Looking forward to seeing your photos. I am finding that I like the Sweetheart Alice very much. Just not sure if I'm ready for another Lusion.

    7. My pleasure, Morelle. I wouldn't mind having both of them, actually. But Miss Squint will have to wait till next year <3

    8. I think the sculpt is the same but Sweet Alice has acrylic eyes while the first Alice had glass eyes.

    9. I'm not sure, Nancy. The eye holes on the limited not only take a larger size eye, they look larger, at least to me. the rest of the head looks the same however. Anyone else have an opinion?

    10. I'm trying to download my comparison photo from my photobucket app. Not sure if it's working.

      Yay! It worked!

Anyway this is the facial comparison of Alice.

    11. I think the faceup has a lot to do with it. The eyewells look a lot deeper on the one on the right (the limited? Not sure which is which). Can't quite tell if it's just the way it's painted or if maybe they modded the eyes a bit. Also looks like maybe they modded the lips or enhanced the lines in the corners. Seems odd they'd physically modify the face, but it would set the limited apart even more from the standard edition.

I always thought the limited Lillia (the fox) looked a little different from the standard Lillia, as well. But maybe that was just the faceup, too.

    12. Great photo, Morelle. Thank you! I sure couldn't have done it.

To me, the jaw on Sweet Alice (standard model) looks fuller as well, but it's very hard to say without the dolls side by side.

I wonder if the 30mm eye size is a misprint, or if the limited does actually have bigger eye holes?

    13. Size 28 and 30 are not very different. Actually the 30 mm on the LE don't look they sit well in the eye socket. The limited picture is taken from a different angle looking down, so it's hard to compare them accurately.

    14. Stormlight. Yes the Alice in the right is the LE. Her face up is a little more dramatic than Sweet Alice on the right who appears more simple and child like. Which I love. I don't believe DM altered the sculpt. I believe it's all in the particular face up.

Thank you merangel, now that I have downloaded the photobucket app it's easier to use my iPad to transport the photos.

In looking at these two pics side by side, I don't believe the sculpt has been changed. This subject has come up a few times regarding other Lusions. DMs face ups are can be so different from doll to doll that it leads the collector to question. Is it the sculpt? Or the make up?

I really believe its all in the specific face up. I really want Sweet Alice, and may take the plunge. That is after I pay off my three current layaways.

Yes Nancy. I see what you mean by the two faces shown being in two different positions. This causes them to appear as though they are two different dolls.

    15. I think the same - It shows what a difference it makes - I wasn't keen on the limited Alice when they brought her out but Sweet Alice
is just my sort of doll (and my sort of styling)

    16. Me too Teddy! I've been waiting for DM to come out with different Lusion sculpts. I wasn't partial to the LE Alice either. But am in love with SH Alice. And I love Elenore too. I'm waiting to pay off my current layaway on a Schoenhut then I'm pretty sure I will be ordering Alice. I can already envision her with brighter eyes, and perhaps a splash of freckles too.

    17. That's what I love about Dollmore. They give you a choice. I like the older looking Alice (the limited) because I don't relate to the more baby like style of Sweet Alice. I like a doll who knows how to pull off a look that says, "Duh, my mascara's smeared. It's the morning after a fabulous night, Darling!".

Although, I might get Sweet Alice next year. Just to remind my limited of the consequences of fabulous nights....

My very first Lusion. She is Dahlia Golden. Aka Nell. Her face up is by Artist Forever Virginia.
